  2. To stop the clipper (in Windows): 1) Exit Evernote 2) In Windows Task Manager kill the Evernote Clipper task that is running Now to stop clipper running ever again... 3) Run regedit and in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Evernote\Evernote\StartEvernoteClipper set this to 0 This will stop Clipper starting up when you start Evernote for windows. I have also attached this as a .reg file that you can download and just click on to run if you dont want to manually set the setting value to 0. 4) Run windows task manager -> Start-up tab -> RMB on Evernote Clipper and set it to disable. This is to stop Evernote clipper from starting on windows startup. This works as of Evernote 6.18.4.8489. Note: Every time Evernote updates you might want to check that they havent reset some of these settings and Clipper is not now starting up again. NOTE TO EVERNOTE DEVELOPERS (from a developer): Forcing the user to always have clipper running is pretty bad practice and there should be an option to easily stop it from running. Why? Cos the clipper hijacks so many key combinations at a system level probably without the user knowing. Why do I want to not have clipper running in the background? I (like millions of others out there) use Microsoft Visual Studio in combination with Resharper and the key combination shortcuts conflict with each other and because Evernote has hijacked the key combinations at a system level it stops certain key combinations from working in Visual Studio. 5. Apple users have enjoyed changing the font sizes (small, medium, large) and font colours in the iOS app for quite a while now... When is the Android Evernote app going to catch up (or surpass) the functionality of the iOS app?
  6. Check out StackOverflow; it's set up for developer support
  7. Yesterday
  8. Ah! Thanks. We do have developer skills that's fine. So something like this then: 1. NoteStore.listNoteBooks 2. Something to list the notes of a book (what's the function for this?) 3. NoteStore.getNoteWithResultSpec (withContent=true)
  9. Yes, but you need developer skills. Along with the third parties, we have access via the same APIs
  10. Thanks a lot DTLow. If a third party has access to Evernote's raw data, is there a way we can have access to it as well?
  11. I have a bit of a workaround for those interested. In my case, this worked with trying to capture Washington Post comments. Let's say the goal would be to capture all currently visible comments. What I did was: Highlight any portion of text starting from the first comment. Continue to hold down the mouse/left-click. Hit the "End" key on your keyboard. This should bring you down to roughly the end of the comments section. Extend the highlighted section a little bit in order to ensure the last comment would be completely highlighted (you can let go of the mouse/left-click at this point). Right-click on any section of the highlighted text, then select "Print". Save as PDF. It's obviously not an ideal solution nor an elegant one, but at least it works without too much fuss. I'm going to test this method with some other websites I frequent in order to determine if it could potentially represent a more generalized solution rather than for a select few use cases.
  12. I'm on 7.10 MacOS Mojave 10.14.5, and it still isn't fixed. IMPOSSIBLE to see the cursor Did some more testing - this is just with web pasted content. If I get out of those paste blocks, the cursor is white and very visible again.
  13. For a cloud backup solution, check out cloudHQ
  14. Anyone? No way to backup the data in case something goes wrong?
  15. As per @gazumped Attachments are not stored in Evernote by the original filenames. Instead, it's "The hash attribute contains an MD5 checksum of the corresponding resource's bytes, which is used as an unambiguous identifier that points from the hypertext to one of the note's attached resources." For example, Sample.png becomes E8E50C11-8DC1-4304-9396-B806716D4DE8.png So within a note, multiple copies of the attachment all point to the same file
  16. I see Evernote being the same as ever, showing no interest in implementing an attachment view for images. If this is important to you, you can switch the format to pdf; inline/attachment view is supported.
  17. Evernote as worst as ever! This has been requested in 2012 and it is 2019 and it has NOT been implemented. I have been a paying evernote customer since for at least five years and this are the kind of issues that make me think twice about keeping my subscription active. Please do this ASAP! Regards, HC
  18. Every time I try to use the Web Clipper I get the pop-up to log in, it's successful, and the popup goes away, but the Web Clipper never comes up. Every now and again I'll get a dialog box saying that my browser might be blocking cookies, I've double checked everything, nothing is blocking it. I've cleared all my cookies and reset my browser preferences, and un-installed and re-installed the Chrome extension. This started a couple days ago, not sure what happened to make it not work.
  19. For a clean install, the app AppCleaner is recommended for removal of Evernote from your Mac. It automatically deletes the app, database, and other component files. After logging into Evernote, your database will be rebuilt from the servers. Warning: the reinstall does not include Local Notebooks or unsync'd notes,
  20. How can they be working diligently to "fix the issue as soon as possible" and the same time change the ticket status to 'inactive'? Shouldn't the ticket be transitioned to status "in progress" or "working on it" or similar? This doesn't make any sense. At all.
  21. Should we call this Spotlight-gate? This is an old and recurring issue that Evernote apparently can't get right and, in my case in particular, is a terribly frustrating situation. I make heavy use of Spotlight, and Evernote 7.9 worked beautifully with it. I could search both title and contents of notes reliably. 7.10 cripples Evernote, and to add insult to injury, the release notes that accompany that version state: "Your notes had stopped appearing in Spotlight Search. But we fixed it". I provide instructions on how to revert back to Evernote 7.9 in hopes that they will be useful to someone. They worked for me, but understand that you do it at your own risk (you should have a backup of your Mac prior to upgrading to Evernote 7.10 and be Terminal-savvy) : Make sure you have your login details for Evernote. Back up your Mac (seriously). Quit Evernote and delete it. Launch Terminal and stop all Evernote processes with this command: for process in $(ps -ef|grep Evernote | awk '{print $2}'); do echo kill -s KILL $process; done In Terminal, delete Evernote files from your Library folder: rm ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.evernote.Evernote* rm -rf ~/Library//Group Containers/*.com.evernote.Evernote Restore the following folders from a backup of your Mac prior to upgrading to Evernote 7.10: ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.evernote.Evernote ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.evernote.EvernoteHelper ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote ~/Library/Group Containers/com.evernote.Evernote Restore the Evernote app from a backup of your Mac prior to upgrading to Evernote 7.10. Launch Evernote and log in. Create missing symbolic link (I've split the cd command in two lines for easier copy/paste): cd ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/Application\ Support cd com.evernote.Evernote/accounts/www.evernote.com/????*/localNoteStore ln -s ../content content In Terminal, import metadata: mdimport -d 1 ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/CoreData/com.evernote.Evernote/????*/ENNote/_records You should see lots of ouput (one line per note) like this: 2019-05-25 11:34:27.358 mdimport[16716:418099] Imported '/Users/<user name>/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/CoreData/com.evernote.Evernote/<ID>/ENNote/_records/p385.enspot' of type 'com.evernote.note-metadata2' with plugIn /Applications/Evernote.app/Contents/Library/Spotlight/EvernoteSpotlightImporter.mdimporter. Hopefully you can now search both titles and contents of notes. (See http://jenswilly.dk/2015/10/fixing-evernote-and-spotlight-indexing/ and https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/88450-evernote-notes-arent-showing-up-in-spotlight-results for more information.) If anything goes wrong, delete: ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.evernote.Evernote ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.evernote.EvernoteHelper ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote ~/Library/Group Containers/com.evernote.Evernote and the Evernote app, install it again, log it and wait until it syncs your notes.
  22. Yes copying content to another note works but you lose the Metadata G.
  23. Kind of like Ctrl+Q on Windows desktop. Desktop also displays recent searches with Ctrl+Q, which is handy.
  24. For me something like 85% Windows, 15% IOS, <1% Mac and Web. All the heavy lifting on the desktop, lookup mostly on IOS, other than entering workouts at the gym.
  25. Glad to see you got it working A point on inserting noteTitle into the HTML content. The first line specifies the en-note container I would look into inserting after this line. You extracted a line from the note contents. Should it be deleted?
  26. Hey guys, took me some time but I got it working this morning (I'm Australian). 27. I think that nowadays most users are multi-device, multi-platform. In my case it is Windows, Mac and iOS. If I had to estimate, I would rank my iOS use way above 50%, the rest split among Win and Mac. But most of my serious editing is done on one of the desktop clients, as the note-by-note approach of the mobile client does not allow for multiple notes transactions like joining, batch moving to target notebooks and multi-tagging.
