  1. I don't think this is the problem. Please read the initial post again...
  2. In windows you can do it without any mouse movement: Select/copy the passage in the PDF Switch to the evernote app ( Alt-Tab) and paste into the note ( CTRL-V ) Alt-Tab back to the pdf reader again You can program this behind a shortcut key using AHK (auto hotkey) Something similar should be possible on a mac, I hope
  3. Yeah, but you may save time and effort by just pressing CTR-ALT-V . No extra mouse keys, no D&D or a second screen needed . When finished, you can get your single note by merging the individual notes (without anything in between if you like)
  4. AFAIK, this is impossible, but a possible workaround is just paste it in evernote as you already did , no D&D needed. Then when you're finished you can multi-select all these separate notes and merge them without titles and/or lines in between (advanced settings). This produces a single note as you expected...
  5. Yeah, I know that it already did something, refreshing the screen or so, but I wasn't aware of a full sync...
  6. I'm not sure but I have the impression that swiping down initiates a full manual sync now (much more convenient than the manual sync in the settings menu)
  7. Yeah, AFAIK always the same rule: the annotated pdf will still be visible. Note history is always saved and accessible as soon as you re-subscribe...
  8. Android version 10.36 seems to have faster note creation (again). Let's hope it's permanent now 🙄 . I also noticed that sync lag, which was already good, further improved substantially 😀
  9. I found a similar workaround for PC : by blocking Evernote network access in my firewall, a complete notebook can be exported, attachments included, without risk for unwanted sync. Apparently, as you already noticed , EN uses another channel to find out whether the network is still there 🙂
  10. Yeah, but you probably found a workaround to make a full ENEX with attachments without sync ?
  11. The question is, why does it need a connection for attachments export? Does this prove that not all attachments are stored in the local database? This is at least unexpected behavior... This "deficiency" may make it very difficult for recovery scenario's like this one
  12. This is a little bit unexpected since we have a single code base now... I assume that cutting online connection via TripMode is exactly the same as a physical full disconnect?
  13. hmm, have you ever tried to export a notebook when offline? At least on my windows PC it refuses to export notes with attachments in offline mode although all my notes are cached locally. This is a known bug for a long time now : https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/139829-how-to-do-a-backup-of-my-evernotes/?do=findComment&comment=641812 edit: so if offline export doesn't work on a mac either, you may duplicate the good notes on the good mac when offline, maybe put these duplicated notes in another map or tag them. Whatever happens with the original notes when connecting again, you still have a copy now...
  14. The maximum note size will be restricted to 25MB. This means that larger notes can still be viewed but not changed anymore.
  15. In the mean time, performance has deteriorated to the point as it was before, fortunately sync in both directions is still ok...
  16. Yes, the missing part of the title comes back after waiting some minutes. It's a sync problem. Even in the latest release 10.35, I've seen this occasionally. I think your analysis is correct: a half-finished version is synced to the server and then back, a typical race condition bug https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_condition Different than electronJS advocates would like you to believe, this proves again that cloud application development takes much more than just writing a bunch of html and javascript pages by web developers.
  17. Which Samsung Galaxy phone do you have and what is the ram size ?
  18. Strange, I just did the test again and it does update in background on my android phone (I didn't terminate the EN client, just clicked away in background). However, as I said before, background sync can be slow (5 up to 20 minutes maybe) Please do the test yourself (with version 10.35)
  19. As far as I can test, there is no background sync unfortunately. However, due to the fast sync, it's less of a problem now. Edit: My last test shows that it does sync in background, but it polls at a much lower frequency.
  20. Sure, a dramatic reduction to one minute, sometimes a couple of minutes max (automatically, no manual sync required!)
  21. I tested it very thoroughly now and the app stays very responsive, with fast sync in both directions! This is a major improvement. The EN client on mid-range android phones can finally be used for quick note taking again 🙂
  22. Yeah, it seems to be much faster, let's hope that it stays that way! Edit: sync is impressive as well 🤞
  23. Yeah, mine has 4 GB's of ram. Legacy ran at full speed on my S4 with 0.5 GB only. Electron/react apps are very bad for the planet, they force users to switch phones every 3 years causing e-waste and a waste of energy as well. This kind of lazy programming should be forbidden by law.
  24. After a few days, got stuck in an endless sync loop again. Restarting my android phone made the sync responsive again. So at least there is a workaround to get my data synced on my mobile. Hopefully this bug will be finally solved in the next release. I hope that the legacy team will have a look at these low level sync and performance problems (if they weren't replaced by web developers, lost in a thousand layers of (electron) abstractions).
