  1. On my Windows client, I conducted a test with a note containing 198,000 words (1,160,364 characters). Anywhere in the text, scrolling was very responsive, comparable to that of a shorter note. However, it’s important to mention that initial loading such an extensive note took 16 seconds. edit: tested on a 8 year old pc upgraded to 16 GB ram and 1TB SSD
  2. Yes, I already sent it to that channel too.
  3. @Federico Simionato In the dark theme, the notebookname and title at the very top of the screen are almost unreadable now due to extremely low contrast. It appears that font color improvements made in the light theme are badly impacting the color in the dark theme. I hope the dark theme is not automatically derived from the light one...
  4. Maybe you emptied it yourself to get below the 50 notes treshold ? You can try to recover from your ENEX or html backups
  5. I can't reproduce this, I still have 15 notes in the latest windows version 10.76.2 ... Maybe your zoomlevel has been changed?
  6. yes, especially if the previous scheme was proven and well accepted by the community!
  7. "... Evernote's updated user interface includes a beautiful and simplified design, enhanced readability, and a rejuvenated visual identity with a modern color palette and vibrant patterns..." ??? https://evernote.com/blog/new-ui-2024
  8. I agree about the dark theme. When I use Evernote for extended periods of time, I find myself adjusting my monitor's contrast settings due to the pure black background. The side notes list also has a problem: the selected note is difficult to distinguish due to the extremely low contrast and also because there is no selection border. Additionally, the note list font looks blurry, which could be an anti-aliasing problem. Strangely enough, the note list font size has also been reduced, despite being one line of text in the table row. Although we can criticize the previous Evernote developers on several aspects, their GUI design was very ergonomic. It remains a mystery to me why current developers replaced the existing proven themes instead of simply adding two new ones (for whatever obscure marketing reason).
  9. For some users it's not about 'looking nice', it's about being able to use it or not
  10. Yes, just a reduced stylesheet for font type, size and color settings, harmless.
  11. No special configurations needed, just make some of the existing stylesheet(s) accessible. Since they already exist underneath, it shouldn’t require much effort. Then the community can adjust stylesheets to their liking, while the developers can fix the real software bugs...
  12. Again, why did they replace the existing themes, they just had to add two new ones and keep the existing ones...
  13. Me too, it’s much easier on the eyes. I use it all the time, as do most developers these days
  14. You mean the standard EN contract we all have or do you have an additional one ?
  15. Contrary to what some people claim, MacOs also appears to be vulnerable to serious virus attacks: CVE-2023-50643 : An issue in Evernote for MacOS v.10.68.2 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, severity 9.8 !!! So in this case, an attacker can gain access to even your most sensitive local files... The good news is that it has been fixed in the latest release 🙂
  16. Markdown is not a single standard, most note-taking apps have their own dialect of it. Moreover, Markdown has very limited expressiveness, so it is often supplemented with HTML (which is part of the 'standard'). As a result, a full Markdown reader is more complicated than an ENEX XML or HTML reader alone because it has to support both MD and HTML. edit: here a few examples of mark down limitations solved by HTML: Hacks | Markdown Guide
  17. How difficult can it be, the update time should only be set when the user changes the note, not when the system touches the note for internal reasons... A second (internal) update time may be needed for internal purposes such as history, incremental backup (in the future) etc
  18. The update time issue on the Windows client appears to be resolved since version 10.73.4, EXCEPT when decrypting an encrypted note just for reading, the update time is still adjusted unexpectedly.
  19. I completely share your opinion, this light theme is so pale and less readable that it will push away potential users. I wondered if I was the only one who felt this way, so I asked my son (who recently graduated in computer science) and he was also shocked by what they did to evernote. He thought that this must be a quick and dirty implementation and that we might see some improvements soon I'm lucky because I'm a dark theme user anyway. As I stated, I'm fine with the new dark theme, even though the previous one was better because the side note list font was larger and sharper. I hope they will correct that.
  20. Generally, I am fine with the dark mode, but the note list font bothers me a lot. It looks more fuzzy and unclear than the snippet list font, for example. Is it because there is an aliasing problem or is the font too bold in note-list mode? Have you tried the note list yourself or are you just using the snippet view? edit:The note list would be much easier to read if it had the same font and fontsize as the tag list.
  21. That's great! I can’t wait to use it. You are a beta tester, right? I volunteered to be one too, but I haven’t got access yet 😞
  22. Regarding zooming: this is not very effective in the current version, because the steps are too large. It would be better to reduce the step size by half or more, as most other apps do. Also, please add the option to zoom with ctrl-wheel.
  23. Great! Is the note title column width in the notelist already resizable now?
