  1. Hi. CloudHQ offers one option... https://blog.cloudhq.net/how-and-why-you-should-backup-evernote/ If you're only using your notes on a mobile, you're relying on someone else's computer to preserve your data. If you have the desktop version you can keep backup copies locally which has always seemed to me to be preferable...
  2. Hi. Evernote's guerilla marketing department like to nag anyone not paying a full subscription as often as they can, and it might have gone up a notch in the new version. As a subscriber you can contact Support to request they back off a little - it may take a little time to get a response given the new version and all, but you'll get your point across...
  3. Hi. Install the legacy version? https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
  4. Hi. Legacy Evernote has a OneNote import feature - don't know how effective that is, since both companies tend to change their software around. I don't imagine they've included any options in the brand new version yet, but they will probably come...
  5. Hi. I'd suggest you File > Exit the app, and uninstall / restart / reinstall from EVernote.com - exiting the app should erase the temporary database. You might want to check sign into the web version while you're at the home page and check your notes from there to make sure the server copy is valid.
  6. Hi. I don't believe Evernote officially support any Windows version before 10 - did Legacy work for you? The previous Windows version or an even older version might get you back into your notes at least... http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.1.9091.exe
  7. You could always go to the Notebooks page, right-click a notebook and choose 'export', or just use the Legacy version...
  8. My favourite so far is RightNote - it's a basic flat database with some good search and display capabilities. It is Windows only though...
  9. Not doubting your comment, just confused by the multiple options... 😕
  10. I believe this is a copy of the 'temporary' working database that would otherwise be deleted when you log out. There's a discussion somewhere about where that database is stored, but as far as I know it can NOT be used separately from the app. AFAIK It's not - yet - intended as a full backup of the database. If you truly need a backup - better to use the Legacy option or go with CloudHQ and backup from the server. If anyone has any more information though - please advise!!
  11. Are you still on 10.5.6? You could update, or try the Legacy app. We're not Support by the way - for more direct feedback please submit a ticket. I know it says they're busy, but when you have a ticket number at least you have a place in the queue...
  12. From 10.0 they're up to 10.6.9 in less than three months, so I'd say they may be quiet, but they are still working. Me too. There are any number of local-hosting databases and while I keep my plans for World Domination in there, I do have links to directly open the files from my (legacy) Evernote notes - when I've fully converted my local notebook to third party storage - and when Evernote have more legacy features in the new app - I might consider "upgrading"... I agree with you about the notice, but this is not the first app that's changed their ground rules unexpectedly requiring me to revamp my workflow, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
  13. Hi. It's not a conflict. The last public versions of all apps on various operating systems had different numbers - Windows forinstance was 6.25.1. ALL of those versions have now been rewritten and replaced by a new code-base starting with version 10.0 and (after several bug-fixes and upgrades) already on 10.x The latest version was a bit of a leap forward but -at least on launch - missed a lot of the features of the older app; so there's an option to run the two side by side if you need time to adapt... https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote
  14. You're welcome - the quickness was purely accidental though! 😉
  15. Hi. There is no way within the new app. If you also install the Legacy app and use that, it is possible to export notebooks to ENEX files as a backup. A paid-for utility Backupery can automate that for you. Online resources also exist - see CloudHQ. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote https://www.backupery.com/ https://blog.cloudhq.net/how-and-why-you-should-backup-evernote/
  16. Hi. Did you get a standard acknowledgement and a ticket number? Post that number here and we can bounce it up to an Evernote Admin for comment...
  17. Not that I was aware of - 6.25ga is also 6.25.1 and Legacy is 6.25.2 - presumably updated to live alongside EN10.x, but otherwise (I thought) unchanged. If you know differently, please expand. Tools > Options in Windows and (presumably) Prefs in MacOS will be set to at least notify if updates (of any kind) are available - if you're going back to the last GA version for the time being (I'm happily operating there at the moment) you may want to check that to avoid annoying pop-ups. If you're planning to use an older version alongside EN10 I'd suggest using Legacy to avoid unexpected issues. Thanks for the headsup though... 🙂
  18. Heck no! I have a perfec'ly working version at the moment - I'm somehow allergic to beta updates recently... 😂
  19. My note here is totally irrelevant, but I got an intriguing update email from another company yesterday which is a bit of a model in emotional intelligence... It's from the developers of JV16, a Windows 'cleanup' utility. Note the subtle sales message and the discounts at the end... Evernote, please note!
  20. Hi. Can I ask why you need multiple selections? If it's for backup purposes, there are online services that can export notes and notebooks to various formats - see https://support.cloudhq.net/how-to-backup-evernote-to-google-drive/ for more on that. The bad news is that there is no way (AFAIK) to multi select notes in the web client... yet. It is possible in the desktop versions, but there's currently a limit of 50 selections in EN10. The legacy desktop versions work as normal. Since the intention is that all Evernote versions should offer the same features on all platforms, the web client should get the update sometime soon(ish) - but given that the browser version has a remote (and possibly unstable) connection to your database, rather than being a direct link, there may be technical or security reasons for not making it available or restricting it in some way. Since 'my other laptop' is a Linux box I've also been grappling with the web version - I did find a way to make it a little easier to use - Linux Mint has a Web App Creator which put the Evernote web app into its own personal separate browser window. - It can run any browser so you can use Firefox for browsing and Chrome (if you want) in the Evernote window.
  21. Hi. Don't know what you've already tried - is there a previous thread? If you didn't already use Revo Uninstaller Free to search for and uninstall Evernote files, try that..
  22. Hi again - Not sure what you're looking for here - if using Clipper breaks the page anywhere, then the obvious step is: don't use Clipper. If it is a general issue and not just on a handful of pages, then report it to Support with URLs. It'll take a while for them to get around to it, but they will look into the issue and try to fix it. That might take some months. Meantime the workaround is to use some other recording method to capture pages - there are plenty of options around from browser add-ins to online page capture tools.
  23. Hi. You're coming up here as a Basic (ie free) account holder - but either way: post your support ticket number here and someone will flag it for an Evernote supervisor to take a look at the report.
  24. Hi. Did you get a ticket number? If you did, or you can get one and post it here, we can flag the number for an Evernote Admin to take a look at if you want. I can appreciate your frustrations - I'm currently receiving Evernote service level I've grown used to, because I didn't update to v10 - I'm still using what's now called the Legacy apps in Android and Windows. You'll be able to go back to that level yourself if you wish - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote If you go to your subscription management page and re-set the account level, you should see payment options of annual and (maybe) Monthly - it depends where in the world you are.
