  1. It should be possible to keep all the shared notes together in a notebook - you're just sharing individual notes rather than a complete notebook - but the process of copying the sharing link takes a while, and new subscribers with access to the parent note still need some handholding to get them to a 'normal' web page view. One of the perks of Postach.io (that I forgot to mention above) is that it is possible to protect a blog with a password (no idea how secure their system is) and I did set up one blog with a public access where one of the links was a 'members only' passworded area in a second blog account. That's a subscriber-level benefit.
  2. Hi. Thanks for the video. I'd suggest you contact Support so they can take a look in more detail (we're mostly other users here) but while you wait for their response, you could uninstall the app, power your system off and on again, and re-download / install the latest version from Evernote.com. Subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and Free users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (but it's usually easier to use the Support option in the mobile client).
  3. I would think that there are several factors involved, including the company wanting to give everyone fair warning that Legacy will stop working so that the inevitable complaints when it does so can be countered with "we told you to move your data and gave you 2+ years to do that." Plus Evernote will know how many users are actively connecting with the Legacy client, and presumably will see that number going down - when they feel a threshold has been passed, they could cut off the remaining group without too many issues.
  4. Please post your ticket number here - we can at least flag it for someone to look at.
  5. If you scroll to the bottom of the menu, the Android client has a "Sync" option under Settings. There's nothing similar in the Desktop version though.
  6. I believe there's a 10.59 version around somewhere, but why is this an issue? What was your personal experience and why cant we get transports?
  7. Hi. I'd recommend you use something like Revo uninstaller free to clean your system of any Evernote files, then power your device off and on again and re-dowload the latest app from Evernote, com. There are no other posts about blanked screens, so what you have is probably a corrupted install, complicated by whatever else you may have downloaded when trying to fix it. Revo will completely remove any and all Evernote files independently of your operating system and give you a new start. (Revo is a Windows and Android app - Appcleaner is a MacOS alternative) I don't know of any trustable third-party archives for older versions, and Evernote themselves suggest that stepping back is not a good idea in any situation.
  8. Support is also customer services and should be available from the Setttings menu in a mobile device. A "bug" is a feature that works (or doesn't) differently from its published description. Lack of backup options is not that - Evernote only provide the facility to export one notebook at a time, and that seems to work fine. And by raising issues here you are bringing them to Evernote's attention - eventually - the developers should still be reading posts here for general feedback, though when they get around to this thread is unknown...
  9. That would be correct. However it's more likely that things like RTE coding will be introduced which be wholly or partially incompatible with Legacy. How long should a company maintain backwards compatibility with older versions that they no longer support, especially if that may mean reduced access to new features for current subscribers?
  10. Sorry - it's a done deal; but those individuals came off with a year's healthcare and some good salary bonuses. The general opinion seems to be taht they did pretty well...
  11. I've always advised users to share by notebook - then everything you wanted your audience to see could just be dragged into that notebook and it was instantly shared, effectively as browser pages. The process has been updated in v10 so that it is more confusing for non-Evernote end users. It is still possible to share a notebook by email, and have someone navigate to a browser view. But there's much more marketing emphasis on the viewer having an account and opening the shared notes in the app rather than as browser pages. I can see where that's a benefit to Evernote - they want subscriptions, and they don't necessarily want lots of people using their service as a sort of web site host/ manager, encouraging non-subscribers to access the Evernote network using bandwidth that actual subscribers need for syncing and uploading. Setting up a shared notebook is quite hard work, and accessing without an account even harder - and neither situation is good for an Evernote 'host' or their users. I can see two possible answers - both external to Evernote. One is a third-party app called Postach.io which will convert any Evernote notebook into a public blog. For small numbers of shared notebooks, the free version may be sufficient - just create a new notebook and send the intended user a link to 'their' very own blog in the style "JohnDoe.postach.io" Here's one I created earlier - https://cliffeactual.postach.io - despite all my best intentions I never have kept that up to date. (Resolution for 2024 - must do better...) You could give up to 5 (I think) individual users access to their very own blog in the free account - there's no login, so they're not secure as such - except they're findable only if you know the URL.. The other option here is https://workflowy.com - which is much easier. I created a 'lesson plan' outline in no time, and while the link to the feature is horrible - https://workflowy.com/s/student-name/cAmU4FzzLFgXzmkq - it at least can contain an individual name. There's very little branding, just a small blue "add to account" button in the top right for those who already use the software. The hierarchical structure has (allegedly) infinite depth and its possible to add images / files / links to each bullet point. Easy to service for the creator, and simple to access for the viewer. For ease of setup and minimum user stress I'd pick Workflowy for shared work. Opening a free account to receive and save the content is pretty intuitive if and when necessary. But if you're going to use either of these third-party solutions, please feedback to Evernote on the reasons for doing so. I think it should be much easier to set up a small notebook for individual shares, and any associated branding and marketing should be much less 'in your face' than it is now. It's OK to take credit for a job well done, but my impression is that Evernote loudly invades my personal space to do so. Not cool. Maybe we can get them to change their style. Constructive comment welcomed below... <gulp> EDIT: See comments below - I forgot to mention here that Postach.io has a subscriber-level option to require a password for access to blog pages, plus various other benefits including Markdown support.
  12. You would also need to mark each note to be shared either publicly or to specified email addresses...
  13. Please explain in more detail. I can't tell whether you'd like that to happen, or you're complaining that it already does.
  14. In Windows the same command opens my Kindle app, but simple Ctrl(command) + K opens the link dialogue
  15. ...or maybe to copy and paste sections of the content into new notes or a new document?
  16. ...or save your standard tags in another note as CSV items - <tag1>,<tag2>,<tag3>,<tag4> - and copy paste that whole line into the tags field. Evernote politely splits the line into individual tags.
  17. Hmmn. I don't know of any time limits on deactivated accounts, but I guess it might depend on how long it has been since you last accessed the information. You should try Support to see whether there's anything they can do to help (we're mainly other users in the Forums) - though I'm afraid you may have to wait for some time; I don't see this being treated as any kind of priority, and the new owners are a bit busy dealing with recent glitches. It's worth a try though... Subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and Free users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (but it's usually easier to use the Support option in a mobile client).
  18. Hi. Lots of possible reasons - what's your device / OS and Evernote version? Re Support - subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and Free users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (but it's usually easier to use the Support option in the mobile client).
  19. Don't disagree, though Evernote has the parent database on its servers and an inbuilt incremental backup in Note History. One of my requests to Evernote has been for an easy local backup process.
  20. If that feature is important to you then clearly Evernote is not currently going to fulfill your needs.
  21. There are groups in Facebook and Reddit, and probably elsewhere but Evernote has historically been fairly relaxed about what's discussed here and does not, to my knowledge, exercise any great control over content. I'm another user who has been contributing to this forum for a long time, and I and a few volunteer colleagues act as moderators and answer queries and suggest work arounds where we can. If you post multiple times it's pretty pointless because you're talking to the same audience each time and -theoretically- will get more or less the same comments. Also it's against one of the few rules... https://discussion.evernote.com/guidelines/
  22. Not sure what you're looking at - mine went up by about 25% You have had a remarkably bad experience so far - most users don't seem to have quite your level of bad luck, though I see you're dealing with Support onthat. A 'locally stored database' shouldn't necessarily be a requirement as there are ways to extract copies of all notes and notebooks from the server if required. And proprietary code? You mean as opposed to Microsoft, Apple or Adobe? Notes do have a version history and - provided the note still exists - can be recovered to any stage of its development. I'm not knocking or mocking here - just pointing out that Evernote normally is not quite as disastrous as you paint it. It's entirely your right to move on, and I wish you luck in finding another provider that suits your needs. I hope Support can help you get back to your missing notes.
  23. If you can quote your ticket number here we may be able to get a Forum Admin to take a look...
