  1. @Analyst444, I realize that you are trying to help, so thanks for that. I've very familiar with the search syntax and saved searches but that really doesn't help here. Let's just leave it at, IMO, links though useful for many situations, don't work for all situations and collapsible sections would be much better. I've voted this one up even though there is another similar thread out there.
  2. It is. The note is for one project and let's say this project has 10 sections. In every section there are dated entries. Typically a new entry for each week. The weekly discussion may involve only some or all sections and may include only the most recent dated entries or some from weeks before may need discussion. Using links to jump around from topic to topic and to different dated entries real time would be very messy. Much simpler to just have it in one note and collapse the sections, and/or dated entries not needed for that day. Also, and I neglected to mention this earlier, each week I post the status to a wiki for archive and having everything in one note I can quickly just copy and paste. If the information was spread across multiple notes it would require more steps to first collect the information for posting.
  3. @Analyst444, some good ideas thanks, but this would require much more managing of the meeting notes than I currently do. If I wasn't presenting the note or needing to occasionally jump around to different date entries depending on the discussion flow then I would consider it. As it is, having it all in one note is better for my workflow. I appreciate the ideas though.
  4. Just curious, why isn't the OS passcode lock good enough? Personally I can't think of any reason why I would need to lock my EN data but would be ok with having everything else on the laptop open and available.
  5. Not necessarity, It depends on your use case. As an example, I have a weekly status note where I keep track of different topics and provide dated entries in each. This note gets presented to a group of people. I would love to be able to collapse any entries that are not important for that particular meeting to help provide focus on the issues that do need to be discussed. This could be duplicated with many separate notes and links but manuevering through that live in front of a group would be very messy. Much similar to be able to just collapse or expand sections as needed.
  6. Unless something has changed since this post there doesn't appear to be an Android dark theme. You can vote up the request below to show your interest.
  7. and adding one more would be even finer I believe there is another feature request thread out there for this and as I recall it was one of the higher voted ones. Another reason why it would be nice to have a central location for these client independent requests.
  8. Three now . I find reminders plenty useful as is, but further enhancements would be welcome.
  9. I would suggest you initially consider using only an AP Biology tag. The highschool and senior tags to me seem to be superfluous unless there is a reason why you need to have a separate highschool or senior collection of your notes. There are some people that are definite taggers on this forum and all the power to them, but I think new users should start simply first and then add to the complexity if they find they want that later.
  10. I would change that to: if privacy is important to you, don't put important or business data in any cloud based app. The next step down is to first encrypt your important data before putting it online. For text based notes I use the built in EN encryption. For everything else I use encrypted pdfs. Notebook level zero knowledge encryption would, IMO, be the best solution and I hope that someday EN chooses to impliment it. It would go a long way in helping the recent Premium price increase be more palpable.
  11. I agree but I don't think the answer is where the servers are located, I feel the solution is encryption. I'm surprised that any company would use EN (or any cloud based app) for business without zero knowledge encryption. If you peruse the forums you will see that users have been clamoring for notebook level encryption since the beginning. A few years back the prior CEO made a comment about "sexy encryption" coming. Instead, it appears we got work chat. It is a puzzle to me that any company that wants to position their product for business / professional use would not have encryption at the top of their feature to do list.
  12. Unless they have changed direction recently, I don't believe they are offering the classic view for new accounts.
  13. I think it would be best if EN just abandoned the current voting mechanism and put a more meaningful process in place for collecting online user input.
  14. Glad you think so but where did this come from? I appreciate the recent fixes with the new editor but to me they are still playing catch up. The editor was basically ignored or such a low priority that not much happened for several years. This new editor does give them a frame work to build on but is long, long over due and except for a few changes, IMO currently just has feature parity with the old editor. I'll start getting excited when I see some long requested enhancements show up.
  15. I still can't see a situation where I would want my EN data locked but it would be ok for someone to have access to my contacts, emails, texts, etc ... Not complaining, just trying to understand the use case for this request.
  16. Please consider having the time to be optional on a per note basis. I tend to use reminders for date only sensitive tasks. I use a calendar for time and date dependent tasks. It would be useful (well, at least for me) if I could deselect the time on a note reminder. I realize the time is used for notification so for those notes where the time is deselected a user defined default notification time could be used. As it is now, since I only use reminders for date sensitive events, I will, as an example, get a notification at 2:42 PM that a status report is due and the time is meaningless, it just happens to be when I entered the note and set the reminder.
  17. I would be interested in seeing some type of status update as well, though it is uncommon for them to do so. I don't think I've seen EN commit to editor improvements "at the same time." I believe each OS has its own development team so these are being rolled out independently and I suspect that individual OS nuances make some editor changes more challenging than others so the feature rollout is different. I'm a Windows user and have definitely seen editor improvements on that platform though I look forward to future enhancements.
  18. I agree and would like to understand this request better too. When the OS provides a way to lock (I'm thinking iOS, don't know about Android), why is it needed at the app level? I've seen this request in the Windows desktop forum and am just wondering what I'm missing. I was puzzled when it was introduced for iOS.
  19. Well, it was "your" response to @David Reed that started the tangent. The other posts were just comments and clarifications based on that. If you want to police the forums and keep them on topic I would suggest that you first look internally.
  20. Yes, I suspect @David Reed was just commenting based on his subjective reading of the forum over time. The point I was trying to make is that the voting mechanism can "not" be used as an indicator of the most requested feature since it is newly implemented and does not capture the years of customer input that occurred on this forum before the voting mechanism existed. I would agree that it can be used as "some" indication of current desire but even then, the voting system, as currently implemented, has problems as others have indicated.
  21. In addition to GM's comments the voter mechanism (warts and all) is relatively new and doesn't capture or reflect the years of prior requests.
  22. Well ... another explanation is that you are doing something wrong. I'm not a big user of shared notes or notebooks but when I've tried it has worked fine. There are many here that manage a second account that way, so sharing does work. If this is more than just a vent and you truly want some help, provide more details on specifically what you are doing and I'm sure someone will be glad to offer assistance.
  23. After viewing the current season of House of Cards and OITNB ... meh ... I'm in agreement.
