  1. Not really that hard though. I do it all the time and it takes less than a second which is amount of time I don't need to save. They might do one day. Send a support ticket and let them know what you want. If others want the same maybe they'll implement it.
  2. Macs don't have a backspace button? Never used one myself but surprised. I use backspace when typing. If I type the wrong character I hit backspace to delete that one character. Macs must have a key to do that? The way it works with EN is if I type - and space I get a bullet. I then hit backspace and the bullet changes to a dash. I'm sure the editor works the same in Win and Macs.
  3. You can hit backspace quickly to remove the formatting. I personally find it useful.
  4. It's just drag & drop isn't it 😂 Putting my sensible head on I would imagine the new sync tech will come first then API sometime later to take advantage of any new functionality.
  5. My own 2p on this... notes are indeed actionable with a task(s) added but tasks are also standalone without any note needed. I like this. I have a lot of business automations setup as It saves me so much time and being able to create tasks via the API or email would be a huge plus. Pretty sure the email option is coming from what folks have said. I have a number of use cases: My invoice software creates over 200 recurring invoices every year and it would be nice to connect my Invoice software with EN so a task is created for me to check and send an invoice. My CRM could create lead follow ups for 7/14 & 21 days after a lead is generated. When I receive a payment via Stripe a task could be created 3 days later to check the bank to see if money has arrived. Right now I have a DIY thing going on. Instead of creating a task these systems create a note via email that's tagged #Flow (I use Zoho Flow for automations). I then need to check Evernote Home a few times a day to see if a new Flow Note has been created. I then manually create the task. Would be great to have it all automated. Much more business process is becoming automated and with connectors like Zoho Flow and Zapier becoming more popular I think it's a 'must' at some point for Evernote to update the API.
  6. Nothing gets deleted or removed. You have access to everything you stuck on there... just less features & functionality.
  7. Mine doesn't. You got anything blocking cookies and trackers? Adblocker or something? If yes try to whilst the EN website & see what happens.
  8. Log onto the web version and see if they have been created and sync'd. If yes then they're being created and it's an issue locally. Maybe close the app/reboot/reopen to see if they're there.
  9. Hardly any apps have a sync button anymore. They just sync which is what happens for me on all the Evernote apps I use. Down the bottom right in the desktop apps it pretty much saves every keypress. They've said they're working on new sync tech so any issues you have may get resolved. Have you spoken to support about it?
  10. Oh yes. Would love this. Or the swoosh of the bridge doors opening when you complete a task
  11. I like the idea of shouting Eureka! every time I complete a task... I'll get a few funny looks but what's new
  12. What you all think about a nice little sound effect when checking off a task? A nice satisfying plink or bloop?
  13. Well, they don't have to. It's their app. Do what they want. I just 'hoped' as I'd find the feature useful. Many years ago, I shared product documentation via a publicly shared notebook, and it was useful. Much easier than arsing around with other documentation apps but I'm not that bothered. Just a would be nice feature.
  14. Works for me on Windows. I search all notes for "walking" and it finds all my walking routes, some with PDFs and even highlights the word "walking" within the PDF. Not sure if this is a paid feature. It may need a PDF to be actual text rather than saved as an image. Doesn't work for image based PDFs for me. You on the latest version?
  15. Hundreds of years ago you used to be able to share a notebook publicly. Get a link and see a whole notebook full of notes. I hope they bring back the feature at some point.
  16. Cool idea. In the meantime... You could make your own and save them as images - just drag them in. You could use an Emoji to signify a status. Or probably the best solution would be to tag the note and you could then search and filter different statuses.
  17. Yeah, it is basic search. Not really search as such but I use it like this just for finding notes and notebooks quickly. It finds tags too! Anything you do in Switch To won't appear in the recent search list 'cos it's not really proper search. I hardly use the left sidebar anymore, just use Switch To.
  18. I use it all the time. It's like a quick search for notes and notebooks. Start typing the name of a note or notebook and 'switch to' it.
  19. [][][][]x4 will give you a 4 x 4 table. Lots of other shortcuts as well available... different to slash commands but still shortcuts. You can find them all by hitting the keyboard symbol bottom left in the desktop apps and scrolling down a bit.
  20. Sort of noticed it myself but not really an issue for me... to be honest I don't really notice it but very slight lag is there. Maybe fire off a support ticket to see if Evernote know about it.
  21. Not noticed anything so far but I only moved tasks over on Wed and not had daily recurring tasks yet. Had a few monthly recurring ones that appear correctly on the list next month.
  22. I think it's a Word issue... open the HTML file in a browser (designed for HTML files) and it displays perfectly. Open in Google Docs and Zoho Writer word processors works perfectly. Just word...
  23. Not having that myself on two Windows machines that I've updated. Have you tired quitting Evernote, rebooting and trying again?
  24. Waiting for the same thing myself before I can use tasks. My CRM and Invoice software auto creates tasks for me in Todoist at the moment. There was talk in a post somewhere that emailing in tasks may appear at some point. This would work for me.
  25. Do Windows Key + X and then click System. Check the Device Name. This is probably what Evernote uses as it doesn't have access to your Microsoft account. If its the correct name then revoke access and then log in again. If not click on Rename PC and change it to what you want.
