  1. I actually find the second of my solutions is more reliable on the web than the desktop version so that might be worth investigating. Fundamentally the bug needs to be fixed. I can't believe that EN introduced there new internal TOC feature without realising that, because they are basically modified internal links, they don't work if you are in a filtered list or a list of search results.
  2. I don't think I would expect the note I am looking for to necessarily come up in Evernote's "go to..." suggestions. What happens when you press enter and get the full list of results that meet the criteria? You can then filter those or order them in a way that helps you find what you are looking for. If you know the title, or part of the title, you can use the intitle: modifier intitle:"why teams fail" intitle:"why teams fail*" Does switch to (ctrl+Q on windows) give you the same results?
  3. I used to use reminders but I now use tasks instead. Where a note would have had a reminder it now has a task added to the top of the note. The advantages for me are I can have recurring tasks for those notes I want to review every 6 months for example All my tasks (reviewing or actioning a note is a task) are integrated in one list I'm definitely not saying reminders should be removed. I'm just giving my experience of how my use of EN has evolved now that we have tasks.
  4. The major problem i have is the bug you have noted - internal links within a note in a filtered list do not work. A list of search results is the same. The link can take you to the Home page or some other random place. I need to get around this bug as 95% of the time I am working from a filtered list. There are two approaches I use, which I think may also help you in your desire to preserve the filtered list. The best approach is to simply open the internal link in a new Window (ctrl+click on Windows). You can then work on that note and the main app still has your filtered list The other approach is to clear the filter by clicking the X in each of the blue lozenges. The note you are currently viewing is normally still in the view area. Because the note is no longer in a filtered list internal links work. When you have finished with the note you can use the back button to return first to the parent note and then to the filtered list. I have never trusted the back button in EN (legacy and V10) but it does seem to work in this situation, although may take more presses than you expect. First option is best becasue it always works. An alternative solution might be to capture the list temporarily. This could be done by using a saved search, probably ausing the option of adding it to shortcuts and then deleting it when you no longer need it. Saved searches don't have to be forever. Another way would be to select all the notes in the list, copy the internal links using the blue multislect menu and paste them into a new TOC note. You could even paste them into a checklist and hence record that you have completed your work on each note
  5. If you click notebooks and go to the notebook screen you will your stacks and notebooks. The three dots menu allows you to add a stack to shortcuts Alternatively, even on the web version, you can drag the stack in the sidebar into the shotcuts area of the sidebar.
  6. "Need a little help" at the bottom left. Click it and you get the release notes which have the version number.
  7. Well the obvious answer is to request help from EN but they are not being at all responsive at the moment! It's possible that it will correct itself as part of whatever server checking procedures happen (or don't!) in the background. The only thing I can think of that you could do yourself would be to update all your notes! Does simply adding a dummy tag to a note make it searchable? That's about the easiest change you can do but you can still only add a tag to 100 notes at a time. I suppose you could export the entire notebook and then reimport it. No obvious standout answers that I can think of, although somebody else might come up with a better idea.
  8. I don't know and they seem to have deleted the system limits page from the website. However my notebook has over 6000 notes in and isn't causing me any problems. The web version is the closest you can get to what data EN has on it's server. I assume you can all the notes but search doesn't find them which sounds like an indexing problem - new notes are being indexed but old ones aren't. I wonder what happens if you go to an old note and make some small change to it - does it then become visible in search? Also does filtering, as opposed to searching, have the same issues?
  9. That's not my experience. It is both finding older notes containing the word and highlighting the word within the note. Have you tried the web version to rule out a local database problem or just refreshed your datbase by signing out and choosing to "remove my Evernote data from this device"?
  10. What platform are you using? I assume mobile, and you are therefore complaining about the new home page. There has already been quite a lot of discsion of this. See
  11. No you don't. The main search box includes one token tag in the initial suggested results "Switch to" on the other hand will list all the tags beginning with the search term added. In neither case have I used anything to indicate that I want to find tags.
  12. The failure to include any indication of the platform or version of the software you are using flies in the face of every user forum protocol I know.
  13. The main search bar is absolutely rubbish at finding tags. At best I get one and there doesn't seem to be any particular logic as to which one. Fortunately there are other methods of searching for tags: The filter tool (as mentioned by @faq75 The main tag window (obtained by clicking "Tags" in the side bar) Switch to (ctrl+Q). This does a good job but only searches for tags beginning with the characters typed The problem with all these methods is that the filter is not "carried over" into the search area - ie the tag does not appear underneath the search input. This means you cannot then search within your filtered results. The trick is to collapse and then expand the sidebar (F10 twice) - a long standing bug which EN seem to be in no hurry to fix.
  14. Fixed in 10.87.6 although unfortunately they did not fix the expansion of tags containing sub tags in shortcuts at the same tme.
  15. I'm not quite clear - are you saying you can't add a notebook to shortcuts? I can still do this so I'm guessing you mean something else.
  16. I do this already through an autohotkey script that copies the search syntax into the search bar. It's not actually a massive amount of work to do it manually if you structure it sensibly within the note (e.g. as a table)
  17. It's a shame that the fix for the keyboard shortcuts to the shortcuts didn't include this as well. But maybe they are unrelated and they just managed to randomly wreck shortcuts in three different ways!
  18. It removes your data but not the app. Perhaps you should read the advice people give you.
  19. So when I do file 🢂 sign out I get You could aslo look at settings and unclick the "Keep a copy of my notes on this device at sign-out I'm going to emphasise again that you must check that the web version is correct or you coud potentially loose data.
  20. Which version of the Windows app are you using? I assumed V10, but I'm now worried you are still on the legacy version which would certainly explain major issues. Have you checked that your data on the web version is correct? The latest versio nis 10.87.5-win-ddl-public (20240509102911) Editor: v178.1.10 Service: v1.105.2 © 2019 - 2024 Evernote Corporation. 21. I would start by going to the web version of EN and checking that everything is there. That is the definitive server version of your notes. If everything is OK on the web then you are safe to do whatever you like to the local version. Before you bother to uninstall I would simply sign out and choose "remove my Evernote data from this device". You can then sign back in. All the data will be downloaded again. This effectively refreshes the data base. If you are still having problems I would do a complete uninstall using something like Revo uninstaller (free). That ensures everything is removed and you can start again with a completely blank canvas.
  22. I always update manually before the auto update appears. Therefore I have the installation files in my downloads. I simpy uninstall the current version and run an older version. However once EN has decided to upgrade, I don't know of a way of stopping this if you close EN or shut down your machine. There is no way of switching off autoupdates. Generally this doesn't bother me, but ocassionally (previous one was July 2023) a release comes out with so many bugs I would rather skip it.
  23. I've reluctantly just upgraded to 10.87.5 which had been causing me problems until I downgraded. Picking up the three points: 1. Clicking the arrow to the left of the main tag in the sidebar displays the sub tags 2. Clicking the arrow to the left of the tag in the shortcuts does not display the sub tags -a bug in 10.87 to add to the already long list of "things that 10.87 broke." 3. If I select a tag and then use the drop down from the blue lozenge I am able to select "Include sub-tags"
