In a new blog post, Bending Spoons lays out its near-term plans for AI, though not in any detail. I'm glad that it will remain opt-in. (They also discuss price changes.) The post is here: https://evernote.com/blog/evernote-pricing-upcoming-features-update/. There's a thread where discussion of the blog post has begun:

I'm lucky that my billing date is in the middle of May, so I think I won't get hit with the new price till next year (whatever it may be by then). That should give me lots of time to enjoy the new syncing and work on my suspicions about AI. I am glad for the confirmation that it's opt-in.

Dave-In Decatur, you are naively optimistic. The announcement states that renewing customers will see an increase at the end of May... I hope I am wrong, but am afraid that instead of paying $70 we will see a $130 bill
@Reuven, I will try to remember to report back here in June. My billing date is my billing date; there is no indication that they will reach in for more after it has passed--at least that's how I read it. If my price doesn't go up, will you call me a realistic sage instead?

In the current Windows desktop app, Snippet is one of the views that can be chosen for the Note List, and I think it's always possible to have the Note List displayed. So I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

Personally, I like the new app, and I find the current US$100/year for a Professional subscription to be money well spent. We'll see how I feel about $170 next year (I'm in a very lucky May-renewal doughnut hole that won't increase my fee till then). But I do think that $130 for personal is really stretching it.

Hi, I have sync problems, Evernote version is 10.50.2 and Android 13. I've just updated now in Google Play.
Not only sync problems but I cannot use Android for editing, when I try to do it part of the text is not saved, notes get dupplicated and app doesn't respond.
I opened a ticket in January, it seemed the problem was solved but after a few weeks working OK the problem happens again.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem with Andorid.
Help seems to be on the way: https://evernote.com/blog/evernote-pricing-upcoming-features-update/.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I know sync issues have continued for many. In a new blog post, Bending Spoons lays out the developments in syncing that are now rolling out, which hopefully will resolve these issues (they also discuss price changes): https://evernote.com/blog/evernote-pricing-upcoming-features-update/.

Many thanks, @Constantine001. WRT to pricing, I note this:
QuoteThe new prices are effective starting May 1 for new subscribers and starting end of May for existing subscribers. We’re notifying all customers who are impacted 28 days before their renewal date.
This explains why different users are seeing different information, and in particular why, in the Billing section of my own Professional account, I still see "Next billing date on May 11, 2023 for $99.99." I feel very fortunate to be in this sweet spot, which is purely by luck. It will give me a year to try out the new features outlined in the article to which you linked and see if they will be worth an additional US$70 annually to me.
I'm sure others will agree that if they had released this information earlier this year, it would have saved a great deal of howling and head-scratching by customers. So one thing that is not changing under Bending Spoons: Evernote's communication with its customers about upcoming changes still stinks.

I am very happy with the legacy version. I tried the new version many months ago and did not like it at all, and have stuck with the legacy version since. My needs are basic and I don't need fancy features or a constantly changing software. I don't share in Evernote and just need reliable, unchanging note software.
I'm one of those who found the new version seriously lacking and held out for a year or two, gradually accustoming myself to the new version through the Web client, and as it gained features and usability I have switched over to it pretty completely.
But my understanding is that new features aren't what you need, just steady note-taking capability. It sounds like you do want the ability to work in both Windows and Android, and have notes sync between the two. For that kind of basic use, you might find something from Microsoft or Google to be enough, if you don't mind dealing with them. Evernote Legacy will keep on working until it doesn't, and that's unpredictable. Recent discussions suggest that it is able to use the new syncing method that is being gradually rolled out, and hopefully repairs the sync issues a number of people have had in v. 10.
So I'd suggest taking a look at the Web version to get a feel for the current state of v. 10. Give it a week or so to let yourself grow used to what's there and where it is, and get past the "Where did they move that?" frustrations, so you can do a real functional comparison between v. 10 and Legacy. Then you can make your choice.

These AI bots are really just not trying.

Welcome to the forums, @Jacques17. For myself, I don't think you've accidentally created a new account, since you can see all your expected notebooks. Is that correct? Can you check using the Web client (www.evernote.com) to see whether the notes are present there? If so, and if the problem is in the Android app, I would recommend uninstalling it, restarting your device, and then re-installing. You won't lose any data, just some time, and that should hopefully fix whatever went wrong in the original installation.

Seeing this now, too (I am on no preview program). I can open a note on several devices at the same time (tried it with Android, Web and Windows with latest official clients). Then I get an indicator that the note is opened by me on another device. I can see my typing in real time on all devices! Looks like something we waited and expected for a long time! Having no duplicates anymore. Maybe they do a staged roll out to users.
Thanks for these reports! I am not seeing this yet (Windows app v. 10.55.2, Android app v. 10.50.2), so it does seem to be a staged rollout. I will be looking for it intently!

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Please look at this post and the surrounding posts in that thread. There is a new sync process or architecture that is being gradually rolled out, and seems to be having wonderful effects for those who have received it.
-
@Andrea27, please look at the post linked below, and the surrounding discussion there. That user reports the exact same sync failure with Legacy, but also that it resolved itself after awhile. This is to do with Evernote's new sync structure/architecture/whatever being rolled out gradually, and interacting with the Legacy app.

This is the link to support: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. These forums consist of other users, who unfortunately cannot do anything about bugs. This is quite a drastic bug, and several people are reporting it here. Hopefully they, and others who are reporting it directly to Evernote support without coming here, will get the attention of the developers to fix it.

Hi, and welcome to the forums. I've seen other reports here of a system power-down resulting in Evernote getting confused about the most recent update of a note. Note history is maintained for all accounts, free and paid, and while it is not continuous there's at least a chance that your recent edits are there. Access to the history is a paid feature. If you have a paid account, note history can be found in the ... menu next to the Share button at top right of every note. If you're on a free account, you could subscribe for just one month in order to get access to the history, then drop back to free.

@myfta, most of the forums here are labeled as "Community-based help." I use lots of software that is supported mostly if not entirely by such user-to-user forums. It may be unfair, but I don't actually think it is reasonable anymore to expect to find a support forum with primary participation by developers and support staff. I'm sure there are some, and I'm happy if I find one; but this has become the norm, because it's cheaper, and capitalism today is powered by cheap.

Thanks for this. I'll need to wait till I have a minute to try it out, but it looks good.

Was this ever resolved? I have the same issue exclusively when entering a task on my desktop app. I will be entering text in the task and it will suddenly delete letters or words and jump the cursor location. This is happening on two different computers but does not happen on my cell or on the browser.
Hi, and welcome to the forums. This is the Android app forum. You'll get better advice by posting in the forum for your desktop app (Mac or Windows). Look through https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/440-possible-bugstechnical-issues/.

Definitely not spam. The same problem has been reported in multiple threads by several users writing in Russian and Arabic.

So, not so much different from Evernote then, they don't have a working android app either 😏
Funny, and it's a real shame that Evernote's Android app has causes so many problems for so many people. But for me, the fact is it just works. There are a couple of limitations (no Note History, and occasional flips into landscape mode), but I rarely have sync or duplication problems, and for my note-taking needs it's a great tool. Maybe the reason why I never win the lottery is because I use up all my good luck with Evernote Android. (That, and I never buy a ticket.)
