It may be that a full uninstall using Appcleaner to remove all trace of the original installation is needed. Then download the latest version from evernote.com/download to see what happens

New Files section in the Evernote desktop sidebar
s2sailor replied to Cristiano478's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I think the need is random and database dependent. I’ve had to fully uninstall and reinstall the desktop only once in recent memory but on mobile several times. It almost seems to be a roll of the dice with each update and with the current frequency of updates the odds get higher. -
New Files section in the Evernote desktop sidebar

I’m not sure I would agree that they would be withholding value by not releasing it. I notice that in the pic they have 141 files. They should have an account like mine as one of the test beds. I have over 50,000. Many of those are web clipping junk that I wish were automatically filtered out. I can filter those out by clicking on the doc tab, but I have to wait for the all tab to fill first before switching to the other tab. Also you can only act on one file at a time. I’m not seeing the value at the moment. -

Full task view is working for me as well on the Mac.

Options are always good. I don’t see a setting currently so it might be good to provide comment to feedback@evernote.com.

Although I hate it, I will uninstall with Revo and reinstall in order to see if the Files feature can work. If a fresh install is necessary, to use a new feature the developer should say so. It would be less frustrating than the eternal cycle: upgrade, try, does not work, try again, does not work, upgrade again, try, does not work, start or contribute to a thread here, lof of, log in, try, does not work... I mean, they must know about it, no?

Hmmm, the full Task view works on my MAC—go figure… 🤯🤓

Thanks. Yes, I had to reboot a couple of times yesterday as I was having WiFi issues. But like I said, the Tasks tick box doesn’t even show on the Web version and I saw a Beta reference about the calendar—so it seems that they’re still working out the bugs. They also have not released the EN internal calendar for the iOS and iPadOS apps.

Must not be working for MAC yet. The full page task view nor the task on calendar work on my MAC after logging out and back in , deleting app and re installing. I checked all the info on X and EN website and no mention of it not working for MAC. Hope this will be corrected soon

Have you tried a reboot? They was something not showing for me just before Xmas and a reboot worked, log out and in didn't.

Thanks. I thought of that too, so I set up a couple of tasks with due dates and times, but it didn’t make any difference. Strange that it seems to work under EN for Windows, but not under macOS. I’ll put in a support request and see what they have to say.

Thanks. I tend to agree, but it’s strange that it’s apparently working as intended when running EN for Windows.

Access Tasks via API - Feature Request
DaveCo replied to Peter Quiel's topic in Evernote Integrations
I echo the interest in a task API (and have filed a feature request). My biggest driver is the task functionality doesn't have all the features I need. Love creating a task in the context of a note, but need better ability to manage, prioritize and organize tasks. Am looking to pull tasks from Evernote, Trello and Hubspot into TickTick for easy ability to consolidate and manage personal tasks. While there have been some improvements to display of tasks, it's still a second class citizen in Evernote, relative to notes - one of the reasons to quickly move task flow to an purpose built app for me. -

Same here. I need a quick access to already created notes and don't want to create 20 notes everytime I open the app.
-
95% of the time on my phone I need a quick access to my recent notes and previous version of the home screen provided exactly that (no clicking needed): It's an easy fix if they make an option so that notes tab is my default screen when I start the Evernote on my phone.

We're all very disappointed at the slow response times from Evernote support. It is a sad fact that your husband may need to wait 2-4 weeks for a response beyond the standard automated reply.
-
No intention to cause offence, but checking that the task had a TIME as well as a date. I'm assuming so, but since you didn't say I thought it worth asking.

As part of problem solving have you tried simply dragging the attachment file into the body of the note (assuming you are on a desktop client)

I work between desktop and mobile a lot. One of the things I do on my mobile, is to put down my thoughts before the start of each day. They go into a list. Then I go through the list, reordering the list items, creating elaboration under nested lists, sometimes highlighting certain points. The thing is, it's really hard to do so on the mobile app (iPhone). There's no drag-drop of list items unlike on Desktop. It's hard to select multiple list items while controlling the selection cursor precisely. How do you guys manage using Evernote on mobile? It feels so much like a desktop app slapped onto a mobile screen. Any tips and suggestions?
