Can anyone else confirm this issue when running EN under macOS?

Thanks. We're working through all of that now and have our financials secured. My husband tried putting in a help ticket with Evernote using his new email address not associated with Evernote. He explained the entire situation but he never heard anything back. It's disappointing. He realizes now how important 2 Factor Auth is and is setting it up on our important accounts. However, we're both very disappointed that, as a 10-year premium subscriber, he never got help from Evernote. We're pretty sure his account is lost.

Given how the updater usually keeps all clients current, I doubt you did just now get that option. This was 5 releases back - introduced with 10.81, we are now on 10.86. Maybe you didn't notice it before. They have stuck it into the 3 dots menu, probably to include the web client, but I would not have looked it up there by myself if I had not known where to go.

We should not forget some aspects here: 1) Lower level plans as well keep some users away from the higher level, 2) every account comes with a base cost impact, that does not alter a lot with account sizes. If I take a typical low budget account (say 50% of Personal), in terms of the bottom line impact it is not in the middle. It is a lot closer to actually break even, than to the higher level plan. You can probably afford to loose 10 users from such a budget plan, if this means 1 or 2 fully paying users either stay with the more expensive subscription, or don't downgrade over time. It's not only the number of users that is relevant. What bugs me more is how will be the strategy to actually win new subscribers. "Will be" because currently I mainly see them correcting mistakes from the past.

I think you also have to be at a more recent version than I had. So that was not actually the solution.

If I remember well, we had this very same discussion when the Home Screen (ver. 1) was released. EN made the app to always open on Home, and users complained about it until a settings option was introduced. So open with Home, or where you left. New team, lost experience, and here we are: Discussions about a toggle for starting with or w/out Home, ver. 2.

And I see no harm in reminding you that we should not extend threads with repetitive information - and avoid double positing of the same information in different threads as well. I see your intention to do good, but in effect it makes already long threads longer, without adding anything new.

The option to set an own standard font size was probably one of the most requested features when v10 launched. As we can see today, it has not yet materialized. Send your request to the feedback-address. Explain why it would be important for yourself, and probably for many other users as well. It is not just an issue of aging, it has an accessibility impact for every user with impaired eyesight as well.

Given that the solution is buried in the middle of what looks like a 100 + long thread, I don't see any harm in having the solution posted again at the end.

You’re pretty passionate about a single click, but ok. If you don’t close the app it will open where you left off. Didn’t the earlier version open to the Home Screen where you then needed to click to get to all notes? I’m not seeing the difference.

+1 for being able to adjust line spacing. This is a fundamental basic feature key to my interface experience. I think Evernote has lost their way over the last couple of years in regard to a nice, simplified app that tracked all my notes. I have 9 years invested into this app and it seems like each year progresses I become more motivated to find an alternative.

I too would just downgrade to the free plan, but it's actually too small in terms of number of notebooks and notes. I'm definitely on the side that they just left a massive hole between their tiers and will lose a lot of small-medium users. I appreciate everything that was said about the market and the new owners desire to be more profitable, but I dont' see them picking up new users with their new features and plans, but I do see them losing a lot of lower-tier users in favor of other options.

Closed EN and re-opened it, but no cigar... So it sounds like a bug on EN for Macs...

Obsidian is simply a completely different world... I needed one very missing feature. Annotate image, which kept me in Evernote. I wrote to the developer of a great plugin (Excalidraw) to see if he could make the system work like Evernote's Annotate Image. The implementation of my request and the incorporation of the comments took about 8 days in total ! And it works beautifully. (It took 3 days for the basic implementation and another couple of days to communicate with him the necessary further details of the annotation behavior.. )

Everything may have been rewritten since the original post in 2021, but the image included in that post is exactly what I encountered just days ago while trying to confirm if the image issues I was having on desktop also existed in the web version (they do). The error message appeared several times. After a few login attempts that looked like they worked but apparently didn't, on the fifth or sixth press of "reload" it finally loaded my account. Windows 11, tried both Chrome and Firefox and received the same error screen. Firefox eventually worked and then I got Chrome to work at some point, too. Edited to add: The same thing happened several weeks ago, with similar results. Got through the MFA step multiple times and finally it worked. Same error screen appeared during that incident.

I basically agree completely with what you wrote... Obsidian was difficult to use and I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. But it was really worth it to persevere. At this point, after about 2 months, my mind is mainly occupied with how to move as many activities as possible from Evernote to Obsidian as efficiently as possible. It's such an incredibly scalable and adaptable system that anyone who hasn't tried it fully won't believe it. And in my work as an architect, where I need to have a lot of things visually, it has offered me so many extra things that I don't have a chance to solve in Evernote, and Blending Spoon has leaned into it a lot and the development is going forward. But I really don't want to wait for them to add what I need and what I'm missing after all these years... Here I can find a solution that suits me in a couple of days and with Evenot I may never get it. Migration is easy. Whenever I need something from my older notes in Evernote, I move what I need to Obsidian and in Evernote it gets the ARCHIVE tag (which means I don't have to edit it there next time...) From day to day I am in Evernote less and less time. And by the way, I would have no problem paying 300 EUR a year for Evernote if it worked like it did in the past. The main problem I've had since moving to v.10 is that it's slow and I can't search and filter things efficiently. Searching is just unreliable. And when instead of 3 seconds in Obsidian, I spend 20 minutes manually searching like a moron in Evernote for something that I also found in a few seconds before, the fault is probably not between the computer and the keyboard... Because I haven't changed the way I write notes and find them. But Evernote doesn't show those phrases in the search results...

The same just has happened again - after updating my iPad to 10.86.0, the offline toggle had been resetted to OFF. That’s really becoming an annoying habit …
