macfixer 705
This wasn't happening for me in previous builds, because I guess I already had a Premium account. However, when I right-click on "Upgrade Your Team" to hide it, it will pop back up on next launch. Link to comment
nathanntg 1
I would like to second this issue. I find the clutter on the sidebar distracting and distasteful, as it is not a service I need. Link to comment

nathanntg 1
Unfortunately, that option does not appear in the latest version (6.7.1 453574 Direct), or at least it does not for me. Instead, the option in the view menu is greyed out and right clicking the link directly does nothing. Link to comment

Hi @macfixer and @nathanntg; I am unable to replicate this issue, though I am running beta version 6.8.1. Both options work in removing it from the Sidebar. Does quitting the application, rebooting your Mac, and restarting the application resolve the issue? I know that sounds rudimentary but sometimes quitting the app and rebooting the device helps resolve UI issues such as this. If not, let me know here. Cheers! Link to comment
David-M-Pns 1
I am at Version 6.8 Beta 2 (453713 Direct) and have a Premium acct and no team and I get the Upgrade Your team option in the sidebar and can not be removed using sidebar options (it is greyed out). I have rebooted my Mac completely and the issue persists. Please enable the option to be turned off. Link to comment
newportkiwi 4
@BSR Sorry mate, the "turn-it-off-and-back-on-again" solution hasn't fixed the problem. I'm still being asked to upgrade my imaginary team and the option to remove it is still inactive. Link to comment

Please direct any issues you have with the beta versions to this thread so our Product team can review it before the general release. 1 hour ago, newportkiwi said: @BSR Sorry mate, the "turn-it-off-and-back-on-again" solution hasn't fixed the problem. kirkmc 0
I'm seeing the same thing. I had the Mac App Store version, and it was crashing, so I downloaded the direct version. I wasn't seeing Upgrade Your Team with the MAS version, but I am with the direct version, and the menu item is dimmed. The latest version of OS X Yosemite, and the latest version of the direct app. Link to comment
BSR 208
Hi there @kirkmc; If possible, please let me know the specific version numbers of OSX and Evernote you are running so I can look into this for you. Thanks! Link to comment

That is indeed strange and certainly not the expected behavior, as I am unable to reproduce the issue on the latest general release (version 6.7.1). I would like to run this by our Tech Support team and will follow up here when I have more information. Thanks for your patience everyone. Link to comment
BSR 208
Hi Everyone, I wanted to provide an update on this; I've reported this to our Technical Support Mac specialists. They've directed this information to our Product Team who will be able to look into implementing a fix potentially in a future update. While I do not have a timeframe for when a fix for this will be released, our Product Team is aware of the issue and I am hopeful a fix will be released soon. I thank everyone for their continued patience. Please let me know if you have any questions. Link to comment
thomasjo 0
For whatever it's worth, I'm still able to reproduce this bug in version 6.8 (453748 Direct). I'm running macOS 10.11.6, and have experienced this problem for a few weeks. It popped up in one of the 6.8 betas as far as I can tell. Link to comment
adorno's gray 18
I am also having this issue, which I did not previously have. Also a premium user, Version 6.8 (453748 Direct), OSX 10.11.6. Link to comment
E-NoteForum 107
This wasn't happening to me before, but it started happening to me when I upgraded to 6.8 today. Super annoying. I've been a paying customer for years; i don't want an upsell popping up every time I restart the app, especially since I already pay for Premium. Link to comment
BSR 208
Hi Everyone, Thanks again for your responses. I have reported this to our development team and they are continuing to look into this. I'll be sure to let them know the version numbers you have provided! I'll provide an update here once a fix for this has been issued. Thanks again for your patience! Link to comment
HFTobeason 2
In the interest of completeness, though posted elsewhere: Version 6.8 (453748 Direct) insists on un-hiding the "Shortcuts" and "Recent Notes" lists in the sidebar on each relaunch. Link to comment

E-NoteForum 107
Why is it taking so long to fix this bug? It’s been around for a month now. Given the recent price hike on Evernote, users expect better and faster support than this. Link to comment

Steve Lytle 5
Bumping this one. Still looking for the fix as of 11/14/2016. I'm running Mac Version 6.10 (454267 Direct) Link to comment
maxmanders 0
+1 on a response. This _bug_ is still present, and my annual renewal is due tomorrow. I'm happy to continue supporting the product as a Premium user, but really don't want to be nagged to upgrade to a team account - I don't even have a _team_! Link to comment
andrewlwood 6
I'm on the latest beta build; and a premium user; and I have this issue still. It's pretty frustrating not to be able to remove omnipresent advertising from a premium service - can you update us on the fix please? Link to comment
Robin Frangopoulos 3
I'm having the same issue, also a premium user. Reboot and reinstall do not fix the problem. I'm on macOS Sierra 10.12.3 and Evernote 6.10 (direct download). Link to comment
arinazari 1
I'm a premium user on Evernote 6.11 (not App Store version), MacOS Sierra. How is this still a thing? This thread was started almost a year ago now. It's extremely frustrating that this issue is being ignored/not given priority. I've cancelled my membership and won't be renewing it until this is addressed. I don't know what's going on but whether this is an issue of a broken product, a product that isn't broken but is put out by a company that refuses to/can't fix it, or a product that features irrelevant adverts to paying customers, I do know that there's no sense in continuing to pay for a premium membership so long as this annoying button is on the sidebar. Sorry, I was wrong about that For me, I don't see "Upgrade" with my premium account; I see it with my Basic account Either way, it's not something I'll get worked up on. Vincent Noel 62
I have the same problem, "Upgrade your Team" shows up in my sidebar, it is dimmed in view options and cannot be deselected. Version 6.12.3 Beta 1. It is annoying once you notice it. Edit on October 16, 2017: "Upgrade your Team" does not show anymore for me in the beta sidebar. Thanks! Link to comment
