Viewing notes is changing when it was last updated

In the last 24 hours I'm finding that if I view an old note on the Evernote android app, it then updates the note as if I had made an edit. That means that lots of old notes that I've simply viewed and not edited are now showing as the most recently updated notes, even though none of the contents have been changed and it hasn't been saved.

This does appear to be so. I have Edit Protection enabled but viewing a note gets an update.

I suggest you open a support ticket. I plan to do so.

My prognostication: converting a note to the new RTE sync structure any time an unconverted note is opened counts as an "edit," which it shouldn't.

For me on iOS it seems it still updates the date on opening.

Forget to use the updated date for anything meaningful is the best advise we can give.

I agree. The update date and time is still updated after viewing a note with a few exceptions.

Can confirm, just happened to me again on Android client 10.52.1. Would be nice to get a substantial word from BS.

Are you using the latest version (v. 10.56)? For me, this stopped happening several months ago.

On the Mac client and on iOS it only updates when a note is really edited. Only viewing doesn't change the updated field any more.

I, too, still have this issue every time I open a note in the Android app (I have the latest version). 🤷‍♀️
