i experience the same problems. Only with Evernote on our notebook. Not in the Web version and on GSM. In the home screen, our 'Tasks' widget remains inaccessible. I can't get the 'tasks' module on the screen via the sidebar either. Green circle. Extremely annoying. Tried all sorts of things too, I suppose it's a general problem and for now I'm not going to bother the team trying to solve this with a ticket. Let something know what the solution was. Grtz, Franky.

@Abesato77 @Franky Devooght I would appreciate it if you would submit a ticket... how else are they going to know its not just an isolated event?  They will choose how to prioritize it (which I suspect is low at this moment 😉

F2 will re-title a note,  but in the Notebooks page

@Dave-in-Decatur  No longer for me... in Windows. Used to.  A bit ago, I complained it only worked in the notebook view, and not the left sidebar (where right click showed F2 should work, btw, but they took that away recently).... now its at least consistent, and not as good - F2 is so much quicker and used the keyboard only - no switching back and forth to the mouse to rename a notebook.  Too bad.

I came here to also add, that they also change it so when you rename a notebook in the sidebar, that the original text is not provided to edit... you have to re-type the entire notebook name again... that is even worse!

Yep - nearly all(?) characters work fine except ">". So my workaround might be to change all my >*-tags to any other. Hope my fingers are able to learn new typing sequences 😉

"nearly all(?)" means that I've checked other special characters of my workflow (=_@~:#.): OK
    Only (><$) do have problems...

What is annoying is that the opposite is true for searching for special characters in the normal text.  It will not recognize the special charater and give results for the text after the special character.  For example, !Home will find all notes with the word Home in them.  Sigh.

Searching for emojis, on the other hand works, but I tried that route, and it was just too much work... I would rather work with normal functionality.

  4. Alas, I am becoming less and less impressed by AI search.  Next to not finding really obvious documents (eg show me notes about using evernote, did not find a note titles Evernot Usage Notes), the results interface appears to be buggy too...

For example, I asked, "Show all notes created in August 2023".  I got a list of 99 files, all looking to be from the right time. BUT! when I did any kind of sort on the list view, I got a new list of apparently random documents from all years.

All in all, I am still getting more reliable results from the Normal search, although it takes longer to narrow down the results.

PS: I am giving regular feedback, also constructive when possible

  5. @VincentC Indeed. I don't use the internet version much but will have too now.

@Jon/t I have installed it so many times I am not sure, but the last time, but I will get it from evernote today to be sure.

I believe it an Electron service problem, as the only log entries with errors are around the fust time I try the task view, and they say something about a failed connection.  The problem started around when they moved to RTE too.

AND it restores suggested searches and search results that are tags and notebooks!! 😃

Arrrghhhh.... yes, it does, BUT, I use special (ASCII) characters (*, ?, !, <, etc....) in front of almost all my notebook and tag names (so they are unique to works in the contained text) and Evernote then ignores them all!  I find this really sad, given that using special characters is very common in tagging, and categorizing (if only the @ which is part of GTD...

  7. Thanks,

From your answer, it seems it looks at the description first, and then draws out more detailed data?

I would love to use the task view, but on my work PC (oldish laptop, totally new install of everything) tasks only show a spinning circle... yes, I put in a support request 2 months ago... I was hoping AI might be a workaround...w

  8. Humm, I was not much for using suggestions, but I checked on my windows system, and the only suggestions I see are recent and saved searches.

I would have been interested in the notebook and tag suggestions, but I do not remember ever seeing them...    One reason, for tags, is that I use special characters (<, ?,  etc) before all of them, and Evernote still has a hard time including these in when searching in various ways... 😞

  9. Hi,

For the first time in 14 years I tried using the special commands added to a title when sending an email to Evernote.

I ran into one particular problem, that I hope there is a workaround for.

I have used the ' #' symbol at the start of my Project folders and at the start of the Tag for that project.  Eg #Project.

Alas, the special command for adding tags is also the # symbol.  Thus, Evernote can not deal with something like @#Project to put the email into that folder, nor will it add the #Project tag when I use ##Project.

Could I enter some kind of escape indicator of escape indicator, so Evernote will not consider every # the star of a new tag?

  10. Odd,  They all show it except the "my tasks" tab.  I wonder why they did that.  Its useful information, that let me identify which project the task is from (because its in a project folder).  The option is available, so why restrict it one one of 4 tabs.

I would ask Evernote, but I have a bigger problem they are not acting on so I do not want to distract them more...
