  1. Would that be like the testers reviewing the current beta version? You might want to stay out of the beta program.
  2. Evernote has not implemented this feature - it's been requested. fwiw. I usually convert my notes to PDF format - it helps prevent accidental updates
  3. You haven't explained why you're using 2.1.1film instead of simply film I gather you want to maintain some sort of order other than alpha - but why? Regardless, on my Mac, I could make use of the taglist in my sidebar to locate tags if I had a complicated hierarchy
  4. That may be true, but as I said Evernote doesn't use a folder methodology, I'm referring to folder > sub-folder > sub-sub-folder ...... People will be disappointed if they equate folders and notebooks. In addition to the hierarchy issue, notebooks serve a different purpose. My impression is tha people are using the wrong product if they require a folder structure, although it can be emulated with tags.
  5. We have the same situation on the Mac platform: Direct Download or Store Download For the Store Download, Evernote had to make some changes to conform to Apple standards - database location - ? And of course there is a roll-out delay while the store version pending a review by Apple
  6. For me, consistent order means alpha - a random order seems like chaos even if assigned by me Not sure why your tag naming uses 2.1.film instead of simply film This would also confuse me Can you explain why film can't be simply film
  7. You can find your database location by launching Evernote Click on Evernote > About Evernote and press the Option key A link will appear for your database folder
  8. I'm not having a problem. I right-click on the pdf, select annotate I'm able to repeat this multiple times What are you seeing that's stopping you edited: As with other posts, I'm having problems with annotating beyond the first page
  9. My backup process runs on my Mac I do exports in both html and xml format Some people back up the actual database but the restore process is complicated
  10. Not addressing your assessment of the work required, did you take note that Evernote has a userid/password that controls access to your data. If the use cases you noted were a concern to me, I'd sign out of Evernote.
  11. Yes, another complaint is that Evernote doesn't use a folder methodology, but that's another topic
  12. After merging, the original notes are moved to the Trash folder. You can "unmerge" by retrieving them
  13. How about adding the Pin feature to free accounts - What does that practically mean?
  14. See the discussion linked below This feature has already been implement in Windows. I implemented my own version on my Mac using Applescript, documented here
  15. To be clear, there are three types of links - Private; opens in browser - Classic; private and opens in the app - Public: opens in browser You should be sending out the Public link
  16. There's a huge list of features not offered by Evernote, and highlighting colors is a minor entry. However, if that is what's most important to you; you should look elsewhere. Personally, I value EN for its data organization and search features. I do find the note editor quite basic. When doing serious work, I often switch to dedicated apps. When finished, I export the work to PDF and store it in Evernote.
  17. Not currently an option There is a feature request post below. You could go to it and indicate your support by voting (voting buttons in the upper left corner)
  18. I'm thinking it's a question of priorities; development work is focused on the top priorities. We can influence this by voting using the vote buttons in the upper left corner of the discussion
  19. Selective sync of notebooks has been implemented for the mobile platforms. No indication from Evernote as to the windows/mac platforms. Note: For the windows/mac platforms - Currently a complete copy of the data from the cloud is kept on the device - Users can specify a notebook as "local", and it's data will not be sync'd to the cloud For mobile platforms, users can specify a notebook as "offline" and a copy of it's data is stored on the device There is a request post at https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/17244-request-selective-sync/?do=findComment&comment=85708 You can indicate your support by going to this post and voting; voting buttons are in the upper left corner
  20. Strikethrough works for me Here are some self-help troubleshooting solutions Upgrade to the latest version Reboot your device Deleted the app and database; Reinstall the app and let the database be rebuilt from the servers Warning: the rebuild does not include local notebooks or unsynced notes You can contact Evernote support at Contact Evernote Support
  21. I can only think of two explanations - You did not run a sync process Risky because you loose the web server as a backup - You were accessing your notes from the device cache memory Risky because the device could overwrite this anytime >>Limited memory on their devices and don't want them stored locally? LOL. What is the size of each text file - 5kb, maybe? My notes take up over 5GB My largest note is over 100MB >>Evernote has taken away that ability afaik, this process has been in place for years from the beginning, and nothing has changed >>There's a name for that: Ransomware. Name calling is so childish You might try to understand the features and select the product that meets your requirements You chose to use the Evernote service Either the feature has no value to you; or it has a value making the paid account worthwhile.
  22. That is correct - Evernote moves notes from mobile devices to a central server Evernote is a cloud app, and uploads your notes to the server in a sync process. This is the default, however Evernote did implement an offline feature Many users have limited memory on their devices and don't want their notes stored locally Other users have expanded memory and want the option for offline access - To maintain notes on a mobile device, you assign them to an offline notebook (paid feature)
