  1. Evernote already has a cloud email feature which creates/sends notes I'm happy with my current email client (Apple) with an integrated Inbox that includes my Gmail account Most email services provide filters that will automatically forward email to your Evernote account - alternatively, I use scripting on my Mac (Applescript)
  2. I have the same issue I recommend opening a support ticket at https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action My work-around is Save to Files, or the Notability app
  3. I like this idea of inserting tags into my note contents; instead of only assigning tags at the note level Two points We need a master tag list maintained somewhere There's a problem with search dropping special characters <> [] # can't be used as inline tag identifiers The only valid character is underscore, something like _word
  4. On the desktop version, access the Notebooks page by clicking the Notebook icon, or View>Notebook Clicking on the stack name should put you in edit mode You can also right-click the stack name
  5. Is this an alternative to copy and pasting; to save the clicks?
  6. I merged you post with a discussion in the IOS forum To indicate your support, use the vote button at the top left corner of the discussion It's a known issue with Evernote resetting in IOS
  7. As per CalS, I include a copy of the email in raw form (.eml) I also include a link back to the original note, however this is only functional temporarily - Evernote is my archive tool I'm not using the Gmail or the Gmail add-on; I use a script on my Mac
  8. On my Mac, print to pdf generates separate pdf files as required I'd be happier if the file name was retrieved from the note title
  9. I have a problem with the naming standard for my attachments I have strong standards for note titles (date type [description] keywords) however I've neglected renaming the attachments I need the attachments continued link to the note, if only for the title
  10. That's incorrect Simple linking between notes is a feature of Evernote; I use it all the time The discussion you're posting in is for links/bookmarks within note contents
  11. I have many notes with images and adding text details is not an issue Make sure you're not overwriting the image with your edit
  12. For sure, if you need a markdown editor the Evernote editor is the wrong tool I use the Typora editor/viewer app I use the Evernote service to store my notes/documents, including the .md files
  13. I use the HTML export option to backup my Evernote data (daily intermediate, weekly full) A separate .html file is created for each note; with attachments in their native format The notes are readable by any browser app
  14. How does that differ for html, they are both markup coding, telling the browser tool how to display content Evernote's note format (enml) is basically html code The above issue is caused by Evernote's use of fixed width table columns % width would be a more flexible choice
  15. Victoria, Canada ??? We have fantastic weather, not cold or hot Maybe a few days of snow in winter
  16. By default, Notebooks exist without Stacks. A Stack is simply a Notebook organization tool >>PS I wonder if you live in Sydney Australia?? I'm in Victoria, Canada - on the west coast
  17. An iPad is my device choice, but will be exceeding your budget The iPhone works for typed notes >stylus A stylus is an improvement over using your finger A cheap capacitive stylus (big mesh tip) can be used on both devices. I buy them in multi packs The Apple Pencil (expensive, iPad only) is the best stylus for handwriting and sketching >would I still useNotability or is there another app Evernote has a handwriting/sketch feature, but I prefer the Notability app for handwriting. No automatic sync, but easy to save notes to Evernote
  18. Just wondering how you get two notebooks of the same name Notebook names must be unique Instead of drag and drop, right click on the notebook and assign to a stack
  19. You have to be on the Notebook page View > Notebooks or click on the Notebook icon
  20. Can you post an actual screenshot of the note failing the search My experience is that search is functional for both title and contents The screenshot is from my Mac
  21. We are able to edit scans before uploading No workflow - just scanning
  22. My vote is for Evernote's Scannable app Standard focusing and cropping, nothing exceptional - it just works PDF output option
  23. To be clear, we are not "paste the information into a Word Document" The "loose files" are stored in the Evernote database, but are available in native format and can be exported at any time btw Files can be kept on Google Drive, and only a link reference stored in Evernote
