-The Windows Legacy app is required to open an EXB file and I presume that when server access ends at the end of March it will not be possible to open it to sign in. I recall using a SQLite app at one stage to browse through EXB, so some deep diving may be possible - if absolutely necessary - but the file is not 'usable' as such. Your Evernote v10 data is stored elsewhere.

Hmmn. I really must boilerplate this explanation... When you change from Legacy to v10 A new database is created in your storage and your entire existing account is downloaded in the background New indexes are built for search, thumbnails etc The new app is still usable - it will selectively download notes as you search or edit existing items, but Individual Legacy notes need translating from the old code format to the new, which takes a few seconds each note. Real Time Syncing is in operation as you - and the app - continue to work. All of this will take some time depending one the number of notes / size of your account / speed of your connection / free storage available / local activity on that device. I probably missed some items, but you get that the app is pretty busy for some time - hours to days - after an update. Your system will be slower for some time. If it lasts too long, then check that your free storage is not being overwhelmed, maybe move your (now redundant) EXB database to external storage to save some space... ...and then come back here with specifics so we can offer some more suggestions / contact Support (and be patient) for a longer term solution. Hi. It's possible to switch between two accounts quickly and easily from the top left account settings - -or you could open one in the web browser and the other as an installed app. Haven't tried two accounts in different tabs in a browser yet, but it might work. (We're other users by the way, not Evernote Support, to whom you could express your displeasure if you wish.)

This can happen for a day or two just after an update - Evernote builds a new data structure in your local storage and somewhere in the background - downloads your account. Meantime it's answering any 'live' requests to see Legacy notes, and translating them from one code base to another on the fly. Depending on your internet connection, account size and hardware it can get a bit busy in there. It settles down in time... If it doesn't, check how much free storage you have, and do some local housekeeping. You will have an EXB file somewhere which will be redundant after 24 March but you could move to external storage as an archive...

I was having all sorts of issues yesterday with logins, updates and 'try again later' messages - plus a few 403's. I took the sensible technical step of going to bed. I think the servers may have been a little overwhelmed yesterday... -
Clipped Web articles won't open

Hmmn. Only other users can tell... I'm on Android. You could use the link on your phone (in Settings) to report this to Support... -

That's both a good and a bad suggestion. One notification from each impacted user is fine. Repeated spamming of the link just adds more distractions for an already busy provider. Evernote are aware of the request - they'll do something about it if and when they can. -
Can't find links in my notes

That's one of those 'feature not a bug' situations - best raise it with Support (I know...) but don't expect a quick fix. -
After 16 years I am leaving EverNote for Obsidian

In answer to another question I did try several open tabs - each new one was a relatively small extra load on the basic browser footprint. I used Thorium (a low-profile Chrome clone browser) so I guess the actual practice varies by system and OS. Chrome versions also have the ability to open web apps in their own window, so you can probably have tabs or separate windows. -
Keep the Legacy Alive: A Call to Preserve Evernote Legacy
gazumped replied to AlexLex's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Actually I fully support this movement. I think anyone who thinks v10 is a slow, lumbering monster missing many vital features should conduct a sit in! You stick with your Legacy accounts and your fast access! Let's see if Evernote is prepared to become the public pariah who cuts off dozens of loyal users, despite the fact they're unwilling to use modern software! Mind you - some of those 'loyal users' are coming up on free accounts, or the rather subsidised (and also now cancelled) 'Plus' account, so maybe they won't be so missed... Anyway. You show 'em! Solidarity! (Good luck for getting to the end of March!) -
Welcome back... To up the ante on that uninstall... Try the whole dance again, but this time use Revo Uninstaller to do your uninstall and cleaning up afterward. It really does reach the parts that other uninstallers don't. Then re-download and reinstall. You should be able to search for known notes immediately - Evernote will download them from the server as you ask. But building up a copy database on your local hard drive takes a day or two - just use Evernote meantime and leave it running in the background until it catches up. You should be able to shut your system down without interrupting it.

Keep the Legacy Alive: A Call to Preserve Evernote Legacy
gazumped replied to AlexLex's topic in Evernote General Discussions
No-one is interested in preserving Legacy. Evernote are simply removing some outdated software so that the majority of its customers can enjoy faster operations and greater security. You have no authority to ban anyone. I on the other hand, am being strongly tempted... -

Hi. I wouldn't bother if I were you. If you hit any speed bumps, just start a new thread. It's nice to see an actual request for help. To suggest this to Evernote - just use feedback@evernote.com or contact Support (I know, but that' what they're there for...) Check out Note Information (three dots at top right or Ctrl+Shift+I) to change the date, or Add your own date to note titles in yyyymmdd format - I use a text expander to insert the date (and time) with one keystroke where necessary. 20240227 1122 Any queries, let us know. -
I'm really sorry but there's currently no way to change the main design... yet. There have been a few complaints about colours and contrast, so Evernote may offer some alternatives in the future/ If you know (or are) someone technical, it may be possible to change the colours using CSS ("Cascading Style Sheets") - It's a language specifically designed to style and present the layout of web pages.

Notebooks lost when shift from free to paid member.

You may have created a new account when you subscribed by making a small mistake with your user ID, or by using a different email address. You will be able to log into your original account if you can find the correct user details. If you go to Evernote.com there's a 'forgot password' link that may help - it's linked to your original email address. You're only allowed 2 devices on a free account, so read any pop-up screens very carefully if they appear - you can revoke access to everything except the browser you're working from. Once in that account, you'll be able to share all the content with another account - so share it with your paid account. When you log in using that account ID you'll be able to copy the 'free' notes into the paid account. Or you could export all notes to ENEX files, and then re-import them into your new account. If you have any issues please search here for help - Export notes and notebooks as ENEX or HTML - or contact Support (the link is on the bottom of that page).
