  1. Hi. I'm not a Mac or Skitch user, but I would have thought that this is a terminally bad idea for what is essentially a personal note-taking app. Thousands of screenshots must amount to a huge amount of data. If another app would handle this task better, I'd suggest exporting the data and uninstalling Skitch completely. Other Mac user here might have some alternative ideas, but I'm afraid I can't help!
  2. Hi. You've given zero information about your device(s), OS, Evernote version or where you got this request from, and exactly what you did in response. The most common reason for 'losing' all your notes is that you may have created a new account - which is the blank one that you're seeing - and your original data is sitting on Evernote's servers under your old sign-in details. So I'd suggest you log out of Evernote and try your original user ID - including the 'old' email address if necessary - to see whether you get a different result. If you have any problems, you'll need to contact Support here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/arequests/new (subscribers) or here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (Free users) - or use the feedback option in the mobile client. (The Forum is mainly users supporting users so we don't have any access to personal details.)
  3. Hi. Unless you can point to a post that I certainly haven't seen yet, the developers haven't ever 'refused' to incorporate anything. There appear, from this thread, to have been 286 requests in 11 years. Again, I must have missed the 'thousands' of requests somehow. Plus - the post directly above yours points out that a 'lock' process is now available. Is that somehow inappropriate for your needs? Perhaps you could explain how it might be improved...
  4. Hi. Er, no. Evernote can open notes in their own window, but there's no control over exactly where they will appear. What you (I think) are imagining is a creator's dream scenario; but sadly achieving that is not within the scope of this app.
  5. I don't think Evernote 'made' anything happen (or not happen) - if you delete the original image chosen for the thumbnail, that does not change the smaller image that was created when the initial choice was made. Evernote may not have built into the process a regular check that the image still exists and/ or a re-selection for a new image if it does not - that would certainly be an enhancement of the existing situation, but if they didn't think of it at the time...
  6. Hi. I'm not a Mac user, so can't really help (my colleagues should be along soon...) - but did anything change recently? Updates / new installed apps / odd errors?
  7. Hi. Was this a shared note, or do several people have access to the same account? Has anyone tried the Note History content? Use note history to view older versions of a note Also see: What to do if content is missing from a note
  8. Hi. There are I think a few posts here about similar issues after updating to Evernote v10.38. No solutions yet AFAIK - maybe use the web version while this is resolved? And - if you can - raise a support request.
  9. Hi. If there were past calls for this, why not add your post to that thread rather than starting another? And - the task of 'just' adding a new level of activity to an app serving 200M+ users is not, by any stretch, "simple". Added to which if Evernote disrupt their existing development schedule and start working on this now, you might - if you're lucky - be able to check out the new functionality soon after you graduate. Plus - there are already a couple of dozen existing apps that will do this for you. Searching for 'spaced repetition' may help generate some hits like this... https://praxis.fortelabs.co/randomnote-web/
  10. I'd imagine that there's a significant difference between updates and development. Evernote always seems to concentrate on things that will benefit the most users, and while they want to bring the Linux app up to the same spec as the mainstream software, they'll be concentrating most resources there. Don't know how different it is using Electron for another OS - and maybe that's also part of the problem. Linux (of which I'm also a user and beta-tester) seems to have a confusing number of flavours - the team will want to be very careful that nothing catastrophic can happen to your individual data (or indeed the sync system overall) because they didn't include some fringe distro in their coding. 'Do no harm' applies just as much to devs as it does to doctors...
  11. I bow to your superior knowledge (I don't use Macs!) - have you reported this to Evernote Support? We're mainly other users on the Forums... Subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and Free users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (or use the feedback option in the mobile client).
  12. Such a rush to get the software even the company don't think is quite ready for release. The web version on the other hand is almost as good and freely available...
  13. Or possibly costs too much / not technically feasible / planned for 2025 / not possible in all OS's... there are many reasons why things may not happen - and this isn't a request show, or even a pretend democracy. Evernote do stuff to earn money. Their choice which stuff.
  14. Hi. That's an odd situation. Your link works for me - on my account, obviously; so I don't see why one device in one location (presumably) is having this issue. The details are populated from individual accounts, so maybe it gets lots of connection traffic - is the device where this is an issue behind any firewalls / AV? If it's a work situation forinstance you might need to talk to your IT.
  15. Hi Damian - I'm not a Mac person but it's good to know there are some independent developers out there working on Evernote tie-ins. Your app would sit well with a lot of Windows users too: any plans in that direction? I'd certainly use a Windows version - some users here currently pay (as @PinkElephant has pointed out elsewhere) around the same monthly cost as an Evernote subscription to run another app which generates an Enex file for each current notebook. Those files are a good backup, but are not 'usable' as such - they're just an archive. Your set-up could offer some useful advantages!
  16. If we had a clue as to which device you're using, plus the OS and Evernote version we might be able to hazard a guess. Currently, no idea.
  17. Hi. Click the second image to select it, and then click left arrow to find the space. Or use a table and paste one image per cell.
  18. Hi. You're correct - there is not. Currently the only way from the recipient's end to delete a shared note is to move it to a new folder (that you create) called 'deleted. That's not actually going to remove them, but you'll know that it contains only irrelevant notes.
  19. Hi. Did you use Revo Uninstaller in the process? If not, try again (it kills files other uninstalls don't find) - otherwise I can only suggest you contact Support. These Forums are mainly user 2 user - subscribers can raise support queries here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new and Free users here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps (or use the feedback option in the mobile client).
  20. Hi. Contact Support - Evernote abandoned points some time ago. https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  21. No idea really, but could you set up two separate links? If the differences between names are consistent, you could even use Phrase Express (or similar) to output the right framework and copy/ paste the actual file name into the link. Caveat: I don't know how to do that either, but PE has some awesome 'user input' features to customise a standard phrase.
  22. If you have an issue, best option is to contact Support or give Evernote some direct feedback in one of the mobile apps. We're (mostly) all users here, so our best advice is clean up your system, make sure nothing and no-one else is using your internet connection, and try again. As has already been suggested this may be a number of notes thing. I have a new desktop on which - I have described elsewhere - Evernote for Windows is extremely fast. But the Web version still lags terribly. I have 56K notes in that database. I also have a free test account with about 50 notes in it - the Web version of that opens up pretty quickly, though still slower than the installed version. But as @PinkElephant said; the web version has to download everything it needs before it opens for business, where the installed app already has a saved database to work from.
