  1. Sensible - within reason. There are about a hundred apps out there and I try new ones out from time to time just to see what's on offer - but my main interest is getting stuff done; and if Evernote is still able to handle it I see no reason to switch away for some slinky new feature that I may - or probably will not - use. See websites like https://noteapps.info or https://toolfinder.co (or even Wikipedia) for more...
  2. Hi. Is it possible your account still has an old contact address? If so, you'd need to contact https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true - use the issue type "Account"
  3. If that contains an .EXB file, then you do have a backup. Before you consider restoring from it, are you confident that your devices were syncing new notes to Evernote's servers over the last few months? No-one else (AFAIK) has had any similar data losses. It does take some while for Evernote to convert your old data into the new version format, so it's possible that given a day or two the database will repopulate. Give it a little time to do so...
  4. The Forums are mainly other users, so we're either accepting the increase on a subscription that hasn't changed for the last 5 years or looking for another provider. If you wish to protest the change please contact https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true - use the issue type "Account"
  5. Hi. You'd need to contact Evernote Support to resolve this (the Forums here are mainly user-driven). Obviously the credit card details had to come from somewhere and Evernote have no way to create a ghost subscription... use https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true (which does not require a login) and the issue type "Account".
  6. ? That's... unusual. How are you trying to use it? Importing back to Evernote? Moving or copying the file?
  7. Hi. Device? OS and Evernote version numbers? Tried any of the suggestions in this very old thread?
  8. Hmmn. I volunteered as a beta tester but haven't had any issues with tables (that I've noticed). What sort of reformatting are you seeing?
  9. Hi. If you're downgrading to Basic please do remember to check your billing status via https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action - if you leave your account active a payment may still be taken...
  10. NB - Please also check your billing status via https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action
  11. Hi. Try uninstalling with Appcleaner which will completely clear your system, and do reinstall from Evernote.com. Appstore versions are often slightly older than the main website as new versions wait approval.
  12. Yup. The glory of Windows apps is that they need a normal file in a normal folder for any edits. So Evernote has to create a temporary file from an attachment to be able to allow another app access. Once that file has been edited it can be saved back to the note it came from - but Windows doesn't release 'ownership' that quickly so the file sits in its folder until someone does housekeeping later. There was a similar folder in the Legacy app which I used to clear out from time to time... not sure yet whether it's safe to do that here.
  13. Hi. There's been an extensive discussion here and various suggestions for fixes. We're mostly other users in this forum, sharing suggestions and experiences. If you've tried everything here I suggest you contact Support... https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new
  14. NB - Former subscribers: please check your billing status via https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action
  15. Hi. Downgrading your account to cancel subscriptions is something any user can do online. We're mainly other users here, so can't help you with a refund; but contact https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?guest=true - use the issue type "Account" - for help with that.
  16. Hi. We're mostly other users here - Evernote has decided that want to restrict the use of the free account to that of a 'test' process to allow new users to make sure that they find the normal features satisfactory. Anything other than very occasional use triggers the notices that you are seeing. If you find them unacceptable and are unwilling to subscribe, then you should seek an alternative service. Many of them will happily give you instructions how to transfer your existing notes.
  17. Hi. If you have more than 50 notes and 1 notebook in a Basic account it will still be possible to access those notes and export them. I'm not sure how much editing will be allowed, and you will not be able to add new notes.
  18. Apparently so. My Win 11 EN 10.73.4 has such a folder with about zillion image and file entries. Guessing this is either where Windows app files come to be edited once attached to a note, or these are the attachments (except in my case I would have expected many more files here). If anyone is submitting a ticket on this, please ask whether it is safe to delete this folder from their account...
  19. Unless you were a Basic user, please check your billing status via https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action
  20. I removed another argumentative post here - I'm impressed that folks get so upset about which app is better, but can we quit the 'I'm right and you're wrong' contests? If you're leaving (or have left) Evernote, it's just trolling to come back and boast how well you're doing. Good luck for your future - please don't keep in touch...
  21. Hi. You will be able to share a notebook by email, or by using Postach.io which turns notes from one notebook into a public 'blog' style website, or (with some technical fiddling) by exporting it to HTML and emailing the files to a friend. Public notebooks however no longer exist within Evernote.
  22. Just for the record, my copy of Backupery is still working - in fact this post made me remember I started a backup a few days ago but didn't leave the system running. I reopened Backupery and it quietly want back to dealing with the 1,900th note (out of 25,000) in one notebook! Thanks for a smooth product Denis - hope you can resume operations when Evernote stops messing around with their end of the operation!
