  1. This is a known problem caused by the new sync method. Evernote is aware of it and we all hope this gets fixed soon.
  2. This is really strange. My bag of tricks is empty. I know you aren't too keen on opening another ticket, but unless another user comes up with something, I see no other option. It may take them a while to respond, but your log file may help them get to the bottom of this.
  3. Ok, a couple of more thoughts. When you deleted the app from your Mac, do you also let it delete the database so that it will download a fresh copy on reinstall? Sometimes, if there is a problem with the database, that will clear it. Another option is to fully erase Evernote using something like AppCleaner before you reinstall. To @agsteele's point, I would suggest a direct download from the Evernote site instead of the Apple store.
  4. So, all of your notes are there but just your tasks are missing, is that correct? There are problems with tasks, but no one, that I've seen, has reported them all missing. Have you checked your other devices and more importantly the web? Search for a note called "Things to Do." If you don't create a note first and add a task to it, that is the default note that all tasks go into. Maybe you accidentally deleted that note. Check the trash.
  5. This forum is for fellow users. Once is enough. Have you submitted a help ticket with details of the cut and paste issue?
  6. Evernote typically doesn't provide this type of information. Maybe we will be surprised, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  7. Correct. It sounds like Evernote’s calculation of what space is needed is imperfect.
  8. If you haven’t already, I would suggest submitting a help ticket and report this problem to support.
  9. Folks that are unhappy are already looking around and there is plenty of information on other options in the forum already.
  10. To clarify, they have resolved “some” delays. Sync delays with tasks are intermittent, but still exist unfortunately.
  11. I've been meaning to update this topic. Since the beginning of V10 I have never been able to completely make my largest notebook offline. As noted above, I would get about half way through and the app would close and then get increasingly unstable until I had to remove it and download it again. I tried all the suggested methods and nothing worked, so I avoided keeping a few of my larger notebooks offline. Since the implementation of the new sync ... this now works. It took a few weeks to get all of my notebooks offline but they now are and the app is still stable. I can finally cross this problem off my list. I'm frequently critical of Evernote, but with this fixed, well done and thank you!
  12. I “haven’t” experienced these recently, but since posting I have experienced the delay when saving tasks. I had a couple that took about 1 minute before they would save. It seems to be intermittent, but I agree, the task problem is not fixed yet, even in the current release which is now 10.58.5.
  13. Can you describe what the problems are? So far I’m having no task issues with this latest build.
  14. Ahh, I was referring to the client. I’m not aware of a way to update the web version either.
  15. Download it from the main site. I usually do that since rollout can take a week or two. I have noticed improvement with 10.58.3. I just downloaded .5 so the jury is still out.
  16. Thank you. Can you explain this comment a little more? I thought old notes were already being migrated over incrementally when newly accessed?
  17. The problem was that not enough users were willing to pay for this. Evernote originally had separate development teams optimizing for each platform but it was not sustainable for the company. Additionally, they had difficulty in maintaining parity between the clients and providing a consistent user experience. Updates or improvements were slow to nonexistent, so the decision, right or wrong, was to move to the Electron framework that enabled more consistent development across the various clients. It is definitely allowing the team to much more quickly update the clients and add new features. Time will tell if it was the correct business decision. Personally, I think legacy Evernote was dying on the vine. The move to the new framework gives it a shot at long term sustainability, though with some tradeoffs.
  18. Could you describe a little how other apps do this? Offhand, I’m not sure how you can create a link to a note without first identifying that note in some way. Maybe I’m not understanding what you are looking for.
  19. Sure ... and my point was, there is no need to change anything ... yet. They are phasing in the new sync so the old one needs to be maintained for a while, but it would be pretty inefficient for them to keep this going for long. For example, any change, or enhancement that could affect the sync now needs to be tested on each sync method and could require fixes to both. That said, I had very few note duplication problems with the old sync and many more problems with the new, but I do see the new as the future and think and hope they will continue to work through the teething pain.
  20. Thank you for reporting back. I agree with the importance of opening tickets and reporting the problems. I was commenting more on two related issues. There was an earlier comment by another user that tickets are closed out after discussion with customers is complete, but before the problem is actually fixed. I've experienced this in the past and don't doubt it. I was wondering how problems are tracked to completion. That is still unclear to me, since once the ticket is closed there is no more follow up with the customer. Hopefully, they are maintained in a backlog and worked through over time. The other issue is that new version notes rarely include which fixes are actually fixed. Sometimes there are general comments but rarely specifics. In the past I have spent time and effort reproducing problems on new releases, only learning from support later that the problem was still open. With the number of users of Evernote, I wouldn't expect personal closure with each of us, but a more detailed fix list in the version notes would be appreciated.
  21. For now. I think maintaining two separate sync structures will be inefficient, limiting and problematic over time. My 2 cents …
  22. I’ve seen this many times on the homepage specifically with the scratchpads. I can’t say if I’ve seen it in the very latest release or not. I had not seen it before the release of RTE. I’ve attributed it to the note loading issue.
