The note conversion only works when you open a legacy note in V10 for the first time. Its not all done in the back end. If you then open the same note again in Legacy the note is converted back. It happens on a note by note basis when you open them on the V10 app. This sometimes times time with really big notes. Most of the time for me a couple of seconds. PDFs should display fine in the note. Single page or multi page and you can annotate your PDFs as well. Works pretty quickly here on a beaten up old Dell. I imagine the delay you're having is the initial sync of all the data and the local indexing of notes. This can sometimes take a while.

Evernote vs Evernote Legacy - resource usage.
Jon/t replied to Tom_T's topic in Evernote General Discussions
It does use more memory and sometimes a fair bit more whilst its indexing and doing stuff in the background. I've seen it as high as 1GB and right now its running at 442MB. Its never impacted the PCs performance though and I have a beaten-up old Dell with 8GB of RAM. -
Untitled Notes in ENEX Import
Jon/t replied to cpatterson1's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Technical support is a paid feature. Maybe someone who has a plan and is having the problem can submit a ticket. They may want to see the untitled note exports. -
Untitled Notes in ENEX Import
Jon/t replied to cpatterson1's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
No, don't think it would be the   as its just a non-breaking space and quite common to use. Would be worth sending in a support ticket with the URL of this thread... looks like 3 folk are reporting the same so may be an issue. -
Rolling out AI-Powered Search on desktop
Jon/t replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
You could set it as a shortcut and have it display in the sidebar and home page. Could also add it as a pinned note. It may be quicker to find it than search ever was. -
Rolling out AI-Powered Search on desktop
Jon/t replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
👇 I think the key to getting the right answers is more down to how descriptive you are so Evernote understands what you mean. I've started taking much better notes. -
Rolling out AI-Powered Search on desktop

It supports text inside images. It did a good job of finding my next MOT date from a scanned garage invoice. -
Rolling out AI-Powered Search on desktop

Thats right. Your note data sent to the Ai is only used to process your question or search. Its not used to train anything. Your notes won't appear in Bing chat sessions. -
Apologies. I used a colloquialism. Dodgy in the sense of an install that maybe didn't work correctly. If you reinstall it may reset any errors.

I don't see this lag myself on Windows. Maybe a dodgy install. 10.62.2 is out on the download page, could be worth a try to see if it fixes anything.

How I Integrated my Fastmail Calendar with Evernote
Jon/t replied to mackid1993's topic in Evernote Integrations
It will. Nice tip. I do something similar with my Zoho calendar where I use Zoho Flow to push events to Google Calendar and then Evernote picks up on them. I would love CALDAV to be incorporated but I think that's probably one feature too far😂 A lot of folks I've seen try to integrate calendars via CALDAV have had a nightmare! -
Rolling out AI-Powered Search on desktop

Interesting. Or maybe restrict a certain notebook(s) from ever hitting the Ai. -
Maybe it's to dissuade me mashing the download button all the time looking for new releases 😂

Refund of subscription
Jon/t replied to LynF's question in Evernote for Android Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
If you've requested the refund they usually process them within a couple of days. I thing to point out is support don't work weekends but they should get your message tomorrow. -
Use the link provided above: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new This is if you can't remember your login. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=254668&guest=true&guest=true Select Billing and Payments --> iTunes --> Subscription is not updating and you can then select the 3rd option to submit a ticket.

Rolling out Evernote desktop 10.61
Jon/t replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Yeah. Tried lots of different queries and also been using it in real world situations. Not tried typos yet but will give that a go. I think for the folks who use it a lot they will end up creating more descriptive notes so the Ai knows what we mean a little better. -
Rolling out Evernote desktop 10.61
Jon/t replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I think the worry some folk have is that there's a live connection between Ai and notes, like all-in access to everything. Its not going to work like that. They'll be explaining exactly how it works when it launches properly. -
@CalS Thanks. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
-
Its been a while since I've used legacy and can't remember if you need to be logged in to use it for local only notebooks?

Rolling out Evernote desktop 10.61
Jon/t replied to Federico Simionato's topic in Evernote General Discussions
No. It won't have all-access to your data. They're planning to explain how it works when its rolled out but there's no kind of pipeline into your notes, its much more selective. -
Greetings... for the Windows and Mac apps everything is stored locally and in the cloud. There's no option to set either/or. This does mean you can work in Evernote offline which I find useful as I'm on the train a lot. For the mobile apps you can select which notes or notebooks are available offine. Default is offline so everything is in the cloud needing half decent Wifi. If you select some notes or notebooks to appear offline you can get hold of them when you don't need data. On Windows you can experiment with it by going into Airplane mode. Any edits or new notes will get sent to the cloud once you switch data back on.
