  1. MOVE Folder Dropdown now too subtle IMO We used to have a bar all the way across and now have a (small) color change. I often use a few words to narrow the folder search and tab to get to the one I want. There is very little visual feedback for that action. It seemed like yesterday when the change was from a green background all the way across to a blue background, and today, to a much subtler color change of just the font.
  2. Two other points... #1 there seems to be a switch from green to blue going on: - Checkboxes and checklists are becoming blue. (probably just a personal preference kind of thing, but I have grown used to green being the Evernote color scheme) - hovering over a link gives you a blue tooltip view of the link and edit. I liked the use of Green for "Evernote" things and blue for other links. #2 Now, not only do templates and note duplication not carry forward settings, the apply color changes to all headers (of a type) does not work. See https://v.usetapes.com/5VAykY9V2s
  3. If you are linking one Evernote Note to another Evernote Note, you will find the Apple Notes have the link, but it links back into Evernote. They can be manually fixed to link to the note in Apple Notes. I have not seen an automated solution to this yet, but it is likely possible with AppleScript.
  4. The iPhone still shows the original formatting (and I just made sure I had the current release from the App Store.)
  5. Widths of columns and less disturbing heights of columns. As an example, both the first and second columns were sized to fit in single row. The fifth row, "E," did not have a gap on the items in the S column. There is also extra spacing under the checkboxes that was not there in the prior format. I can manually fix the width problem of the first table, and the gap problem, but I can not fix the extra vertical spacing. The pain in "fixing" is that I have about 100 of these tables.
  6. It looks like the new UI is coming to some, even if not asked. I have it today without requesting beta access. It reformats my tables (poorly) and removes the special formatting of headers (colors, fonts) that I had set on specific pages. ☹️ I did not catch it immediately as I had several open windows (next actions, this week's log) and the main Evernote window. The standalone windows did not show the changes, but the main window did. Restarting Evernote shows the changed formatting in both places. Tables with checkboxes were reformatted. I had an opinion of the new fonts, background changes, etc. (slightly negative), but I thought it would grow on me, so I was silent, but the reformatting of things tosses past work.
  7. Perhaps you have only ever used the browser with Evernote. There are desktop clients you can install, and with them, you can go through the export process on a per-folder basis, getting ENEX or HTML files.
  8. I suspect it relates to whether the page has gone through the RTE transformation or not.
  9. Often, I will say "Evernote Notes" or "Evernote Alternatives" to use your example to specify more of the title of the note I want to bring up. I probably use ⌘+J (Mac) 20 times more often than I use the general search. ⌘+J with no entry gives the ten most recent notes I have selected with ⌘+J.
  10. I have noticed that if I have a separate window open on a note (not the main window), there is a chance the change won't be visible to the note. In a perfect world, I might close Evernote on my Mac before moving to the iPhone but in practice, it is easier to close Evernote on the Mac when I come back, and immediately reopen it. I have to relocate these extra windows but it does have everything synced up.
  11. I am using view as text, and the process deals with that. This may be my issue of when one changes the text, the matching fails. ... Alas, I just tried looking into this (changing an existing link to title) -- it looks like while the title style link changes when you change the note pointed to, the underlying Yarle linkage is using the old text in builing the link AND the underlying text link is not changed. That said, you can toggle a link from text to title and back to text in Evernote to fix the text link -- again a manual process. It also seems that if you set the link default in Settings to Title, then things will work as desired for new notes when you later change it. Of course, you have to like the way title looks in your note -- I have used text since it has been the default and I have used it in my workflow to advantage (inside sentences, etc. (and I have 8000+ notes done the other way.) A second set of changes after an initial export had an earlier version of the text used as the text for a link not following the title change. In the documented process, the note's filename is the title. The link is based on the displayed text matching the file name which occurs as long as the text or the note title did not change since link creation. I don't know of a way to toggle existing notes to change them or fix them.
  12. The best I have found is going to Obsidian and using Yarle. I have a post documenting the process I arrived at in my exploration: https://glimmer.gwizlabs.net/blog/2024/01/17/migrate-from-evernote-to-obsidian/ Note: 1. I am, for now, sticking with Evernote 2. The linkage only works if the name of the note and the text view of the link match. Evernote allows the linkage to be maintained even if you have changed one or the other, but since the linkage is by text, not the Evernote ID, it will fail.
  13. Are you sure it is not 1000 notebooks now? https://evernote.com/compare-plans
  14. I believe the current state is that it works in Windows and does not work on the Mac. Both Grammarly and Evernote point at each other about this Mac issue. Sure wish they would talk to each other about it.
  15. There is a separate option in the clipper that shows up for LinkedIn when you are on a profile. (First I knew of it).
  16. You can do this. I was able to create a mail message to myself on my desktop and place a link to the note (Note | Copy Internal Link | App Link) from Evernote Desktop in the email. On the iPhone, I was able to copy or open that link in Gmail. Opening the links started Evernote to the home page if Evernote was not open, and if Evernote was open, it opened the link to the note it pointed to. As an additional hack, you might be able to do the open (which would guarantee that Evernote was open), a time delay, then a second open to ensure you get to the page. You can also get the App Link URI straight on the iPhone, but I have not tried that. It won't be by using the menu item that gets a Note Link as that gives a URL pointing to the web. The blue + will let you add a note link to a page which has an edit function that should let you then get the Evernote URI to copy & paste into an Apple Short which uses Open URL (from Safari). On first run, you will have to give it permission to open Evernote. I hope this helps.
  17. My suggestion is to pay monthly for Evernote, if at all possible, and start your research to choose your next tool. There have been many articles (web search) and posts in this forum. There is no direct replacement, so you have to take your requirements and evaluate them against the alternatives. Be sure to consider adding ease of migration from Evernote and the ability to export your information from your new tool to your list of requirements. Good luck.
  18. What happens if you turn off your networking and then start Evernote?
  19. I am at 14.2.1; I just exported another notebook, which included a note with a PDF, a .DOCX, and an .XMIND (mindmap). All came across. Only the PDF was viewable in Apple Notes, but I could double-click on the contained files and execute the other two. I thought the .xmind file would not have worked, but I was wrong.
  20. The linked page says it does not import attachments it does not support. This Apple Support page lists the supported attachments (hopefully, the support definition of supported documents matches the import code -- I have not tested it completely.) I store many of the unusual attachment types as cloud files that I link to rather than embed. These links did come across and continued to work in Apple notes. I only did a single notebook transfer. While Notes can now do links between notes, they don't auto-magically do this from ENEX. The links that come over link back to Evernote notes, and you have to fix them or let Evernote be an archive as you do a slow or partial migration. I have seen images, PDFs, and web clips transfer over. Sharing can be done on a folder basis, which I need for sharing family info with my spouse -- I don't think Bear does this. I am not wild about the orange highlight used.
  21. Since you are on a Mac, you might want to try making ENEX files and importing them into Apple Notes.
