  1. Confusing: I went offline assigned tag ">>6" to some notes navitated to other notes (changed notes are not seen in note list) reconnected to iNet ==> Error came up because any note has an open RTE room 😞 Next try: the same but closed EN before reconnecting to iNet (to view execution of the Receipe) ==> All OK (because EN closes all rooms on exit?) So OK, theoretical WAR (WordARound) found - but unusable. It's unpredictable how long I should wait to re-open EN because Receipes work on foreign servers... It's a bad solution to close/open an App to avoid its fails. And: during my offline-tests I found many notes beeing not synced - after at least 3 weeks of working with this account (of 11.400 notes). I really need an indicator to see whether EN is able to work offline (means: "all syncs done"!)
  2. Oups - have to correct me a bit because of a thinking fail: I thought of disconnecting internet after I've assigned the tags 😞 Cutting of the internet just before working like this might help - I'll try this. Even if I will not like it. During such offline times, I cannot browse the web, receive eMails, ...
  3. This is not possible because I have to navigate to other notes in the App and wait some (unpredictable in my experience) time to allow the app to close the RTE rooms. Because the RTE rooms are open on server site (they control access to the notes around clients and API access requests), pausing the internet is not a solution. Maybe at least one of the following might help EN should offer a sync mode that collects necessary syncs to explicit times ("sync button") of course possible with RTE. But for the price of not really instant sync of each note change to all devices - but users with real workflows to handle notes normally do not need such immediate syncs. We should have the choice. EN should enhance their API in any way to handle RTE rooms ([silent} wait for close, ...)
  4. Will not get true if replicated 100 times. Even after working with EN10 for weeks (I run more than one account πŸ˜‰), it is slow on average HW, shows mistakes in well formatted content, occupies to much space on average screens and makes it hard to keep overview over large note lists.
  5. ... in > 10 years of heavily using such type of syncing, I got a handful probs like this. ... that leads to hundreds of problems whilst moving moving tags around and using API services. On example: I use Receips that search for notes with assigned tags like ">>1", ">>2", ">>w" and ">>m". Having found them, their Reminder date will be set to 1 day, 2 days, a week or month in counted from today before the tags are removed. With Legacy no problem: After syncing all notes are free to be worked on on server site. NO problem seen ever. After the next sync (some minutes later) all affected notes have been adjusted correct. With RTE: Problems nearly all the time ... because every note/tag is tried to be synced immediately which triggers the Receipe to work along with the note remains open too long it it's "RTE room" Execution is broken, an error is mailed to me, Receip is paused for 1,2,5,10,60 minutes... If I assign such a tag to a bundle of notes (to procrastinate ToDos πŸ˜‰), the problem escalates because RTE syncs at any time in random sequence whereas the clients keep more notes open in RTE rooms -> unusable... I need such a Receipe because (even in Legacy) it was not possible to change Reminder dates for a bundle of notes in one operation (have to go to each note separately to adopt it). But changing a Reminder date in Legacy is easy: Just type in the date in field. With EN10 you have to use a boring date picker dialog. ... and a coffin to service providers like Filterize and many users who rely on backgound workflows that are based on the API. The new sync makes it necesssary to adapt the API! But is not done so far... But somebody who stook bd while all that was described/discussed/complained here and sent to support can know!
  6. Can be mitigated only by EN πŸ˜‰. They should try to identify URL token after each word during paste operations. If found, it should be converted to a real <a href="token">token</a> construct. But to calm down some others who are pitched with every naming of "Legacy": It did the job better - but not perfect. If the URL token is embedded within "()" or "<>" (as often seen in eMail addresses), the token is not recognized during paste operations πŸ™„. But it is OK to no more change Legacy - if EN10 will get the desired enhancement. πŸ™
  7. After Filterize has been closed before some weeks you may try Make (formerly "Integromat") to achieve what you are searching for. You have to define a so-called "Scenario" to search for notes (i.e. by searching for a specific tag within a notebook) and iterate along the result list to set new note titles.
  8. FYI: I added this also as support #3839476 - hope they can help on this before Legacy dies...
  9. If I add an Excel .xlsm file (spreadsheet with macros) as an attachment, it is available and can be opened by Double-click or ...->Open command. Like with .xlsx files (normal spreasheets), it is saved to a subfolder of your personal documents-tree ...\Dokumente\Evernote\...\external-edits\...\...\ But: If you change anything within the XLSM document and save it, EN does not read it back to the note to replace the current attachment This all works fine for XLSX documents (which is described in Preview spreadsheets in notes – Evernote Help & Learning) It is a substantial need for me to be able to edit XLSM documents (as it was possible with no problem in Legacy)
  10. Go to your "Account information" (or whatever it is named in an English UI) You will come to your account administration page in your browser. There you'll find a link to manage your eMail address:
  11. I had this effect today with 10.77.3 after re-installing EN10. So I started my PDF viewer explicitely and opened the "untitled" (or "unknown"?) attachment there I saved it locally. Then I closed the PDF viewer and restarted EN (not with [X] - use File->Exit!) and the problem was gone. Maybe EN10 needs some time to find the propper handling app for attachments...
  12. Done. Good idea! @all-others-here: We all should go to Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above) to collect our needs!
  13. Fortunately I have such a dino captured πŸ˜‰ There is no explicit 'never' option - but you are able to simply uncheck all modes:
  14. Because that frees up some of their engineers - who are maintaining dual access - to concentrate on other things? No supporter has to maintain Legacy issues. Closing down Legacy does not free any support staff. Next weeks there will be no chance to concentrate on other things. Huh - hard words. But true. πŸ‘
  15. Can you give us some examples from your experience? Sort by Reminder Dates in normal note lists - NOT in Reminder tab that... somtimes causes EN to hang up if it is active and you click on a Favorite often is not available at all Display and sort Reminder Done Times in normal note lists Display normal note lists all the time If you click on a Favorite note, the list goes away (note occupies complete main window except left pane) If you navigate to a note from outside EN, the list goes away (...) updated:day-1 is not reliable: Doesn't show notes updated today But shows notes from many years in the past left pane doesn't support colored tags and notebooks Favorites cannot be placed as a separate line above left and right pane Text, attachments and images cannot be placed in one line together Attachments do no more show their created and updated time
  16. Yep - but a first reason for falling behind is firing core support and dev teams. Struggling against newly upcoming (upset, hysterical, ...) customers might be handled by robots. But request coming from well known, paying for a long time and cooperative users should be handled with some priority. 😀 Why don't they work on queued tickets before fireing new "improvements" like closing Legacy?
  17. You're right - but it was my choice to enhance my workflows with EN's great app and service. Nobody forced me to stop/reinvent my older (not really fancy) workflows. In the past years my hope was (and truely is) that EN10 will continue to bring EN10 to a level, we all are used to use with older versions. Me too - and I'm proud to be one the 1% users πŸ‘ But if they are that acribic with counting our usage preferences, they should know that I'm already on EN10 to figure out it's "advantages" πŸ€” IIRC they also stated before some months, that only 2% (or was it 5%? - correct me if I' wrong) of all users use tags. <sarcasm> Is it really worth to care for these few idiots in future? </sarcasm> I hope to get similar counts on API usage. I hope to get similar counts on Tasks. But coming back to today's eMail and Blog post... It's in fact OK - but comes late in that clearness - and with one annoying hint: Back up your notes. Consider backing up all your notes as ENEX files before updating. ... Why? Backing up my notes to EN's task! If I do it locally, I'll lose all my internal links if I ... easily re-upload any content back into Evernote... But OK, it's a Blog post that might be corrected silently the next days πŸ˜‰.
  18. How many folk should perform an action that is not available?
  19. Sorry, cannot reproduce your problem. It works correct even if I use exactly your text as an example note... EN strips all special characters from text before indexing it to support later searches. When searching, the same is done: All special characters are removed from a search string to enhance search results. If you have "https://www.cettire.com" within you text, you can find "https", "www", "cettire" and "com" only. If you are searching for "https://www.cettire" you search for "https" AND "www" AND "cettire". In both cases, you should find your note with no problem.
  20. Yeah! That's the point that helps us being patiently in good hope... But as long as our workflows keep broken, we'll insist on either Legacy availability or EN10 being able to replace it. Regarding @Net-config's in depth post above: couldn't have said it better. And sorry @PinkElephant - simply calm down with boring tips to forward complaints to feedback channels on an eMail base. We're a user forum to discuss all arguments around EN as a service - not only to answer trivial question around EN10. EN as a service provider should offer a way to keep good paying customers work as usual forEver. (und du weißt, was ich damit meine πŸ˜‰)
  21. Yep. Just installed EN10.77.3 to check for the news. And yes - I can place two images side be side on a line. But that's all 😞 (*) Attachments occupy a who line (not only a standardized width card to show type, name and changed date) - why? It's impossible to place text beside (before or after) an image - why? An image or attachment-card should be a simple item (like a character) on a line. If you place the cursor just before an type - input should appear just before the attachment. If you place the cursor just behind - input should apprea just behind. I thank that's not that difficult 😀. Every text processing app (including Legacy) work this way... (*) good news around that: They seem to work on it πŸ˜‰ πŸ‘
  22. Sorting numbers within strings is a difficult task. We (as developers of an eCad system) often had requirements to sort strings like =A1+P7.1-K17:a and =A1+P24.2-K4:b. Internally you have to split the string to substrings containing only numbers and only other characters (simplyfied). Resulting table of substrings has to be sorted alphabetical in character columns and numerical in numerical columns. By doing so, 7 comes before 24 . So EN works correct even in this sophisticated area πŸ˜‰ But this is not true. If EN has to sort strings like "003-test+2" and "03-test+1" it fails: first number 3 is identical. Second string "-test" is identical. Last numbers +2 and +1 should sort as +1..+2. But the notes are listed as 003-test+2 03-test+1 At the end it sorts along its own rules - that are not documented anywhere... Best idea so solve this is to insert leading or trailing "0"s according to your sorting needs.
  23. THX for your in-detail description so far in your Blog. I for myself cannot agree with all your topics (i.e. that EN cannot link notes) and whether it will be somewhat cheaper that EN. 8€/month + Zapier (free?) to implement an eMail-Inbox? I also had some tests with Obsidian and found the learning curve too complicated to recommend it for non-IT-insiders. But your idea to rework all notebooks and thereby delete some note is a good one - I call this work "gardening" my notes πŸ˜‰
  24. I know (and got many other such in the past). But the last stated "have passed it on to our developers" - which was new πŸ˜‰
