Hi there,
There is a bug in the web version of Evernote.
When editing a note (so that the formatting bar is visible) if I have a touch screen (e.g. Chromebook laptop) and use the screen to scroll in the note or to relocate the cursor, the edit mode is sort of disabled and it forces the cursor to go back to the first character of the document. The formatting bar also disappears. The only way to get out of that is to force the page to reload with CTRL+R.
I constantly have to remember to never touch the screen and scroll with the arrow keys instead, which is annoying because of course I forget all the time.
As a developer, my guess is that something in the touchstart event in Javascript disables the edit mode for whatever reason.
Thanks.
PS: you can move that to Web Client section, I didn't realize there was one.
Thanks so much for reporting this. I have filed a bug with engineering so they can investigate and fix.

The newest version is totally a disaster. First time I opened the new version, the search isn't work anymore, whatever I typed in, it told me there is no result. And the second time I open the app, all my notes disappear, there is still a label "61 notes" there, but no note showed.
I tried to send some feedback, but your support webpage is like a puzzle. In the main page, I select multiple section, it told me to attach activity log, and there is no submit button, so I click the "activity log" link. And in the activity log page, I click the "new support ticket" link, and it bring me back to the previous page. Then I tried to click the 'Contact us' button, it brings me to sign in page, after signing in, nothing happened!
The terrible stupid support page link: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=176617
So I am here, Could you please tell me how to submit a ticket? I want my notes back!
Please try reindexing your searches. Hold down Option on your keyboard and select Help > Troubleshooting. You will see two search reindex tools in there, apply both and wait a few minutes. If the issue persists then contact support with your activity logs.

Bug report: there are two reports of database errors after updating
We're thinking this is being caused by users who upgraded to the beta (creating the new migration directory) and then moved back to the general release version before 7.10 came out. They are hitting an error because the migration directory already exists. You can avoid this by doing a proper uninstall (removing all directories) of Evernote 7.10 Beta 1 or 2. If anyone has run into this issue without ever installing Evernote for Mac 7.10 Beta 1 or Beta 2, I'd love to know more. Thanks for grouping those here @DTLow

@dougfunny Actually not necessary to send me the logs. I reproduced it on my end and filed a bug with engineering. You should be able to reinstall Evernote again if you use something like App Cleaner to remove Evernote content from Group Containers. Please make sure you check all the boxes to remove Evernote and then reinstall. Here's a screen recording with a quick reference on App Cleaner.

@J.C Thanks for reporting this. Would you mind sending me your activity logs? You can find it under Help > Activity Log. Please save it as a file and DM it to me.

@Nick L. One question because I have send my Mac to bed already: Does „Title“ include search of Information like tags, or just within the plain text of the note titles ?
Plain text in the title.

We're aware Spotlight can't search contents of the note right now. Search only works when using search terms belonging to the title. There's also another issue we're aware of where if you launch a searched note from Spotlight while Evernote isn't running, Evernote opens but not to the note itself.

@ewoks, thanks for bringing this up. This issue is still open and being investigated.
@JMichaelTX We continue to look at Apple Script bugs. Can you and @DTLow give me more details around the scripts that aren't working? -
Hi there,
Evernote for Mac 7.10 is now available to our users on direct download. Mac App Store's release is on its way! You can download 7.10 here.
- Your notes will now load even faster. Like, “Wow, that’s fast” fast.
- If you’d had the nagging feeling that something was missing, you were right: Your notes had stopped appearing in Spotlight Search. But we fixed it, so any existential angst should be easing soon.

@Nick L. I'm having the same problem everyone else is having - green spinning wheel / search not working - on my new Samsung S10. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Evernote and it worked once or twice but now is back to the same problem. Did anyone at Evernote ever fix this? I use Evernote nonstop for work and am going on a trip next week. I need this functioning or I'm going to look for a better product somewhere else. Thanks
We're working on a fix right now and want to have it out as an app update as soon as possible. You can try regressing to version 8.8.1 for now by downloading it from here.

Do you see a green loading bar up top? If not, any chance you can open your JavaScript in your browser console and show us any of the errors in there? Feel free to DM that information to me.

@Nick L. : If I am using a web-based interface, I completely agree that creating duplicates is far better than losing information. Luckily I am usually running on Win10, MacOS or iOS, so up to now I was not flooded by security duplicates.
It would be good if this feature could be assisted by a tool that can be used to get rid of the unwanted twin notes in an economical way. Sort of another entry into the „extended help menu“ ? Pick the notes, present the youngest one of them all and let the user confirm that it contains all the information; then delete all the earlier copies ?
Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure there's lots of room for improvement around our logic here. I'll forward this feedback to our product managers to see what can be done. If I have any updates soon, I'll post here. Thanks!

What you're experiencing is by design and it's triggered when we detect network problems through your browser. Because Evernote Web can't rely on a local database like Evernote for Mac or Windows, we create the duplicates with the history of the changes during the network problem. Frankly it's not the most graceful solution, but it avoids losing data.
If you find that this happens too frequently, we recommend that you try using Evernote for Mac or Evernote for Windows. -

awesome.
Also when i go to 'move a note' to another notebook, would be good to have the notebook stack there along with a 'search notebook' box there if possible please too.
oops not sure if correct forum...i was referring to the Windows Experimental preview v.1.2.296
Applies to it too

Thanks for the feedback here. The newest version of ENWEB is still in the works and we will be introducing feature parity with the older version soon. In the meantime, what are the features that make you switch back to the current version? I'd love to read more about this.
Thanks,
-
Stacks are coming to the beta client soon. Stay tuned!

Yes but it's kinda critical to fix so we can at least open our notes.
I am not saying that you guys have to fix it right away but please consider it.Agreed. This is pretty important to us to get fixed so we're moving as fast as we can right now to get it fixed, but at this time we have some bugs that will take priority over this one for being on supported operating systems.
-
@Rashid Thanks for confirming. This is a known issue to us and it's related to apps accessing permission group changes introduced in Android Q. We're trying to fix up some of these more critical bugs, but please know we don't officially support Android Q yet.
Thanks for reporting! -
Are you running Android Q beta?
-
@sergio.stanislauskas@gmail Just to confirm, when you capture from the website, are you sure the images are saved into Evernote? We normally see these issues when the images are hosted somewhere else, yet they display in Evernote as an embedded object. If the location of the moves or is taken offline, Evernote won't be able to locate it and will display a broken image link.

Hey folks,
We're actively investigating this issue right now. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for reporting. We're able to reproduce it and are looking into it right now. Unfortunately the best workaround here is to put in your user administrator password and press always allow when this comes up.
