Started to see intermittent sync errors with 7.11 beta and it's gotten worse with 7.11 proper.

This is a known issue that we already logged with engineering, but has been very spotty to reproduce. We found that most users were able to get rid of the problem by quitting and reopening the app, or by logging out and logging back into their Evernote app.

I've installed 7.11 and I'm still getting the error. Had it 5 times in the last 90 seconds, in fact. I lodged a support ticket and they weren't able to help me.

Please try a clean install of Evernote for Mac and let me know if you continue to see the issue. I've scanned through a few hundred tickets and only have you and another user reporting this after 7.11

**I recommend you export any local notebooks and unsynced notes as a backup because they have not been synced to our server and will be unrecoverable after this procedure. For detailed instructions on exporting your notes, [click here](https://help.evernote.com/hc/articles/209005557).**

    Then follow these steps:

    1. If Evernote is running, press **Command + Q** to quit the Evernote application
    2. Download App Cleaner from the [App Cleaner website](http://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/)
    3. When the download is complete: open the zip file, then open the App Cleaner app
    4. Open the ‘Applications’ folder in your Finder and drag Evernote to the App Cleaner window
    5. After App Cleaner searches for and lists all related files, click **Remove**
    6. Download and install Evernote for Mac from the [Evernote website](https://evernote.com/download/)
    7. Drag the Evernote icon into your ‘Applications’ folder
    8. Open Evernote and log in to your Evernote account

    Looking forward to your reply.

  4. Hi,

Just wanted to provide some clarity around this issue. Evernote 7.11 contains the fix for this, and is now available in the Mac App Store and direct download. All users I've worked with running into this issue reported 7.11 fixing it, so I'm interested in knowing why @SpyvsSpy is still seeing it.

Please file a support ticket here if you're still seeing the problem after updating to 7.11.

Any ETA on fixing this issue: "Users without a retina display see fuzzy text in the editor "?

It's been around for almost 8-9 months.

Not yet, but we're doing some foundational work that will address this and some other bugs.

  7. @GregZone This beta update is strictly focused in bug fixes and is not introducing anything new so it's relatively stable, but I understand your concerns. We normally have a beta version build out for 1-2 weeks depending on the feedback we receive from it. If you install 7.11 beta 1, you will be notified to receive the general availability update when released.

Nick, how about disabling spotlight integration entirely? All of my searching is done in-app, I don't use Spotlight to search notes.

We have high usage of spotlight search currently, so disabling it is not something in our roadmap. We believe we have a fix for it and it's currently in testing.

  10. This is a tricky situation. You should contact Evernote's customer support here. If you're still logged into a device and you can sync and create new notes, you can most likely get access to your account back to change it to a valid email, but I would recommend contacting Support first for help.

I bumped you to Premium for a week without any cost so you can get a hold of them via chat if you'd like.

  11. For those who are still running into this problem, please try the following:

    1. Open the Terminal app
    2. Paste the command codesign -vvvv /Applications/Evernote.app
    3. Press return.

Please let me know if this fixes the problem, or if it reports anything not signed properly. If successful you'll see these last two lines

    /Applications/Evernote.app: valid on disk

    /Applications/Evernote.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement

    Thanks,

  12. @luckman212 and @Caryn, do you have more than one Evernote account logged into Evernote and switch between accounts?
If so, can you reproduce this issue if you log out all other accounts and just leave one?

If you can DM me your activity logs too, that would be ideal.

    1. Open Evernote for Mac
    2. Hold down **Option** on the keyboard then click **Help > Show Logs in Finder...** from the menu to open the "logs" folder
    3. Attach all the log files in your DM to me.

    Thanks for the help!
