  1. @PinkElephant this isn't fair. If you bring your car for service and only half / quarter of will work (with issues) after they are done with it, you won't be happy. Same with the "update release", in Evernote case it is more "repair the damage done". Version 10 is the full official release and current state of the product, it isn't a beta or demo experiment. It is good to see that new repairs are done, but come on... New: Searching inside shared notebooks is back. This is not a new Feature, and if Evernote really thinks that we, the end-users, will we accept that as a positive update.... come on, we ain't stupid or what..
  2. For work we switched to the MS product, this is not perfect but less frustrating and the focus is back on our real work. But it has it flaws too, like every product I assume. For personal use I'm still searching what fits the best. For now I us the MS product for new content and Evernote for historical use. Less than ideal, I know, but don't want to import 10k+ items in a new application before I've decided. In the end, I would have liked Evernote to deliver the quality they stand for. That's why I waited for so long to acknowledge that Evernote failed big time, not only with V10 but in trust...
  3. In my work and personal life all Evernote PREMIUM and BUSINESS people left and switched to other applications. They (some of them) still have their subscription until end date of their subscription date. This will ensure the transition to other workflows. So in the coming months the count of paying customers will drop somewhat, don't know the %. But the real damage is done already and will visible in the coming months ..None of the persons I know will advice Evernote as a stable and great product anymore, and this is the real damage.. Evernote cannot repair this damage, 9+ years of loyalty for most of my colleagues towards Evernote and they left due to the lack of proper communication and support to them... the end-users. Not only because of the big failure with version 10 release.... it is all about poor communication and expectations. This forum is the last option to communicate with this company. So that's why more and more people are on this forum. This signal should be a red signal to Evernote Management, but it isn't...
  4. @PinkElephant Once switched to V10, and use the new version for weeks/months, it is difficult to switch back to legacy product (for me: windows and android). The switch back will result in issues with notes, tags, notebooks etc... Also V10 is the current version of Evernote, it is not a Beta product. When new users download the application, V10 is the standard version. So V10 is the official version, but is not of the Evernote quality we expected. This is my take on the matter: I really don't understand the approach of the note-taking leader Evernote. It is really a disrespect to it's users and community when you think it was a good idea to release this piece of software. And when they did and get massive complaints, even support couldn't handle the complaints in time, there was no communication what so ever. None, only how great the product is was communicated in blog / vlogs... but it isn't.... this version is a shame and not Evernote worthy. I really hope that Evernote re-prioritize it's efforts in this product, the product maybe half/quarter of what is could be. But even the current features in V10 aren't bug free. Advice: start with real customer communication. Do a end-user survey, get user information... not (beta) testers or power users only, but real every day end-users... Last: start communicating with the customers, some left already... some hesitate and some will stay no matter what. I've switched to other application, not perfect but it will do... it works in my workflow and doesn't frustrate like V10 does. Don't think I'll switch back due to the disrespect too me as a (paying) customer by releasing a defective product (not even alpha). If this was the first release from a start-up, the whole start-up was finished before it started. It is because of the millions of Evernote user they are the still in business, but for how long???
  5. If tested with following steps, it seems to work: - Make test Word document and write one line of text. - Save document to local disk and close Word application - Make a new note in Evernote 10 Client - Attach Word document - Open Attached Word Document and add line of text - Save & Close Word application - Open Attached Word document -> New line of text is in Document. Used version 10.7.6 on Windows 10 in this test. In the past it didn't work, so i did not use it anymore. But this seems to work fine now, but no guarantees from me... I lost work (day's) in the past, so is I'll hesitate to use it. (That's one of the reasons I've switched to other application, can't trust EN anymore...)
  6. @disgruntled123 Just my 2 cents on this matter: When you use a strong password, like: 66.GXQBMNqQ2wPgC7moE (don't use this one any more) and activated 2FA than it is really hard to breach your account. (not impossible). When you write: still getting hacking attempts i assume that someone tries to get access to your account. This is (most likely) because the "hacker" knows your email and/or username. If this is known, it is shared in several databases. You will never get rid of this leaked information. My advice: change username and email registration information. Go for a total new account registration (with again new password and 2FA activation). Contact Evernote and explain your current situation, think they can and will help you. Security is a pain, for companies and end users. Once breached it is hard to repair your security. (and I know due to personal experience) Whish you all the best, and hope it will be solved quickly. Best Regards, (not an Evernote employee😉)
  7. Security is a problem for EN and Users. Both have responsibilities in a strong defense against unauthorized/unwanted access. EN could opt for a stronger password policy and/or force 2FA usage, to protect them and us (the users of service) The average user is not aware of the danger / not aware that their password policy is insecure. So when breached at one service, most likely more services will face unwanted access by hackers. For those who want a more secure approach, look at a good password service / manager. They will encourage you to use safe, unique and strong passwords, reports you when your account is leaked etc...
  8. Had really hoped Evernote would succeed in becoming future-proof. After 8 years of Evernote user, I now started with Onenote .... not because I want to, but Evernote v10 frustrates too much. I'm not using Evernote for one or two notes .. currently it holds 15k reference notes and is used for daily (work/home) activities, so i rely on my system. Evernote v10 is not stable and not trustworthy for production. Back to legacy version was a option, but due to 100% disappointment in approach and no communication from Evernote I decided to move... I defended Evernote within my company, I'm the last person leaving (47 persons already switched) the software. Think v10 will be the begin of the end of Evernote.... hope I'm wrong.
  9. Are you sure you're hacked? Did they send any evidence?
  10. Scripting seems not possible (yet) in EN 10, or I'm missing something? Looking for an auto backup routine myself (on Windows), manual backup is tedious extra work
  11. You can try twitter evernotehelps, but response is also slow and back on 11/30 🙃. Evernote is killing its business, also waiting on response about payment. 6 days, no response from support or twitter. It seems Evernote is in a deep crisis at the moment.
  12. Not entierly true, it finds some words within attachments.. it finds poisson 4x but not Poisson Regression in the title. So it works kind of....
  13. you're right It finds only one / first letter... If I search de letter A it finds 600+ hits but Al (or Alicia) it finds none. When I search globally (all notes) it finds Alicia within my test note...
  14. Hi, I downloaded this file and imported into an test note (windows Evernote version 10.4.3). It took about . +/- 20 minutes before search finds text in this PDF... Maybe the new version resolves this issue?
  15. I fully understand you. Made the same consideration months ago. Tried to embrace Notion, but failed. Hope you will have a better experience at Notion.
  16. I've tried Notion...a couple of weeks/months... but it is not made for productivity. Way too many distractions and options to be productive. It is a great tool, but Evernote is better (version 10 hopefully soon) for productivity and second brain.
  17. EV10 is not great at the moment, but even now I'm sticking with EV10. Premium user since 2015, tried several other product (free and paid) but EV is stil my personal favorite. It took some getting used to .... But I am convinced that Evernote 10 marks a new era. Shoutout to dev-team: still believe in your ability to make great product once again
