  1. Have you restarted Evernote recently? Restarted your computer recently? You should be more up-to-date than that. I've never seen someone fall more than about two versions behind without something having gone wrong in the auto-update process. @jbenson2 is about 7 updates behind, so if they don't get updated soon (particularly after restarting the app and perhaps even their computer) I recommend they go to https://evernote.com/download and download the latest version there.
  2. Thank you. That page links to another page with a FAQ, but there's no place to actually sign up. Perhaps sign-ups are paused?
  3. How does one get access to this mythical beta testing team? I was once a member of the Evernote for Android beta testing group, which was long ago disbanded. Asking for a friend...
  4. I have experienced this web clipping issue several times recently. It's frustrating. The Web clipper has not been updated in months, they removed a specific feature for clipping Gmail emails 6 months ago and haven't commented / won't tell me whether it's going to come back. I get the sense that most development resources are currently focused on the desktop app and back-end infrastructure. I hope they return to maintaining the Web clipper soon.
  5. When I tried this yesterday it was inconsistent for me and there's no visual feedback to confirm that you've clicked the right things. I'm guessing there's still no visual feedback, but are you saying it's working consistently for you now? At least that's a step in the right direction, if so.
  6. Agreed. 403 has a specific meaning in web server parlance, but anytime something goes wrong in the logic of web app 403 is a common resulting error. As a result it's really a bit of a generic error and it's not a good idea to draw any major conclusions from it.
  7. At least in theory. I've seen the inside of support departments, and the line between "feedback to developers" and the developers actually receiving that feedback in usable form is not nearly as reliable and straightforward as we would all like it to be. 😕
  8. Where's the new API documented versus the old API? Last time I looked into it, which was probably a couple of months ago, all I could find was a single (old) API.
  9. Again, I'm talking about the full Evernote client, for macOS, not Evernote for mobile... I'm not interested in downloading my entire database to mobile. I want to use it reliably on my laptop, like I could with Evernote legacy, while disconnected.
  10. Couple of weeks ago I couldn't open older notes in v10 for desktop when I was flying without internet access. v10 has never given me a warm and fuzzy feeling about offline capabilities. People who depend on offline functionality are right to be cautious, IMHO.
  11. Great! Hopefully this fixes the double-click to search problem. I wonder if the "search term not highlighted" issue when using the keyboard shortcut to go to the search box is also fixed? 🤔
  12. Does this interface change fix the annoying issue with the search box moving and a double-click onto a search term no longer working? See thread below for details and screenshots/videos:
  13. I'm talking about the desktop (macOS) app, as we're discussing this in the context of the legacy desktop app being sunsetted... Whether it's a bug or whatever it absolutely did not work for me the one time in recent memory that I needed it.
  14. Have you tested this successfully? I was on a flight the other day with no WiFi and I tried accessing some notes older than about a year and they would not load. I don't need offline access often but it's disappointing to be in that situation where a feature should "just work" and then it doesn't. Back in the before v-10 days I traveled and was away from internet access much more and the legacy app was rock solid in that regard (except for note conflicts, those were a pain, but simply reading notes offline was always rock solid).
  15. Can you elaborate on this? Because in recent memory it hasn't worked for me, especially when I have attachments set to display as "Title" or "Single Page" (which is most of the time for me).
  16. Good workaround Mike. In testing this I noticed that the arrow keys don't jump through the find results on macOS - they simply scroll through the find text box so I have to use the mouse. Also, am I the only one driven crazy by Evernote not following the standard convention to highlight the previous search term when using the keyboard shortcut to jump back to the find (or search) box? As far as I can remember, every app I've ever used follows a standard convention of highlighting the search term so that it can be more easily deleted and replaced with a new search term. Since the first release of V10 Evernote no longer does this (it did it on Legacy) and it drives me bonkers.
  17. What version of Evernote are you running? I've been hit with this bug (or similar bug) multiple times, albeit not in several months so I had hoped it was fixed. It's possible that EN support may be able to recover the lost file
  18. Great. Could you take a screenshot of the legacy feature? It would help visualize how it could work better on v10. Beyond that, do you use Twitter? Federico is active on Twitter and he's responded to many suggestions for feature improvements there. I saw someone say that BS thinks only a small percentage use tags so the more people that they see are requesting tag improvements, the better.
  19. I have the same question and the same pain point that I wrote about above, about a dozens posts earlier. Just a quick correction to the bolded/italicized section above - as of the very latest Evernote V10 update (with the UI refresh), I can find no way to copy and paste tags anymore. (I know you said that doesn't work for you but it did work for me and I'm frustrated to see it gone.) I do like your suggestion, however. If they could improve the "edit tag" experience (Ctrl-Cmd-Opt-T on Mac) so that all tags which appear on at least one note are sorted to the top of the view, that would be a big improvement. Is that how it works on Legacy?
  20. There are a handful of features I miss from Legacy such as a bigger tag view "tag kingdom" which would make it easier to re-organize tags. With a full-size calendar coming soon, maybe the tag view could get a similar full-size treatment? 🤔 As for bugs and problems with the UI refresh, my biggest issue with the UI refresh is I can no longer copy and paste tags from the bottom of a note. There are many times when I need to assign the same tags to a new note (such as after clipping an important page that needs the same tags as an existing note). How are others handling this? Multi-selecting notes and using the "edit tags" function is much slower and more error prone than the old way of simply highlighting the tags at the bottom of the note, copying, then pasting into a new note.* *NB: Legacy made this even easier as I could click on any tag at the bottom of a note, use CMD-A to select all tags, then copy and paste as above. V10 got rid of the ability to CMD-A (which to be clear, I miss), but the UI refresh has completely eliminated this workflow.
  21. Do you have a source for this? Because my understanding is that this is indeed a bug.
  22. Why does it say "formerly Professional?" That's what confuses me. It should say formerly Premium & Professional, unless there's an asterisk.* *I have a vague recollection that at one point OCR worked on PDF files with Personal/Premium but that OCR of images needed a higher tier plan, but can't find any evidence of that ever existing. I even checked the Wayback machine and couldn't determine for sure. Maybe someone remembers? The edit dates bug was annoying for sure. Hasn't happened to me in a little while though I'm pretty sure it happened to me at least once after it was supposedly "fixed." I was about to say that hopefully by now it's fixed for good, but I just saw a new comment of yours saying that it's happening on the latest client version, 10.76.2 as of today. That's disappointing. Is it happening primarily with notes that you are opening for the first time on a recent version of v10? If so, it might be related to a data structure update that occurs when a recent client of V10 (that supports the new RTE sync) opens up an old note for the first time. As for lost attachments and file extensions (I think the issues are related), I've experienced those issues before and have posted about them. This is another bug that has been reported "fixed" a couple of times, only for them to acknowledge that it was sometimes still happening and additional fixes were needed. Hasn't happened to me in a while so I'm hoping it's well and truly fixed now...
  23. Great screen clips (removed for space). I imagine this must be a bug. One of many that needs fixing!!!
  24. Good to see you back in the forums. I'm still confused about the OCR section, I thought personal and professional had the same capabilities previously, so why does it say that it's formally professional? "Document & image search (Formerly Professional) Instantly find text in PDFs, word documents, images, presentations, and scanned documents. Learn more." I also don't understand the technical restriction. Why is upgrading to Professional required and not to Personal? Why can Personal accounts only search documents from today onwards when I thought they could always search documents? 🤔 "Please note that due to technical restrictions, document & image search can only be applied retroactively to accounts that upgrade to Professional. Free and Personal accounts with new access to this feature will be able to search documents uploaded from today onwards."
