  1. Ok I think I understand, you're referring to the Evernote for Gmail Add-On, which works on both desktop and mobile, and which is distinct from the Evernote web clipper browser extension, which is only on desktop. (Evernote makes the terminology confusing, particularly on mobile.) I'm also getting errors now, and removing and re-installing the add-on did not help. Suggest you report it to support. As a workaround, the browser-based web clipper extension on desktop works nicely for clipping Gmail emails. It was also broken for 6+ months, but was recently updated and fixed a day or two ago.
  2. I think offline notes is buggy. I believe @PinkElephanthas a support ticket open where they are investigating this issue.
  3. What platform, and what steps are you using to make the clip?
  4. Related to widgets, I'm still eagerly awaiting the return of app actions (long-press options on Android):
  5. Happy to report that extension 7.35.0, which was released today for Chrome, has restored the email clipping option! I did a couple of test clips and it seems to work well enough. This is a much smoother and faster option than using the Gmail extension, except for one thing: the clipper puts pdf attachments inside the HTML container without the usual PDF features, instead of attaching them outside the HTML container where they can be displayed like any other PDF inside Evernote. This feature would be "perfect" if it put PDF attachments outside the HTML container, so that PDFs would be displayed normally.
  6. Hmmm, that's not good. Make sure Chrome is up-to-date (go to the About Chrome menu option to check) and quit and restart the browser? If that doesn't work I would remove the extension, restart the browser, then add the extension back. Maybe reboot the computer for good measure. If none of that works, support will want to know.
  7. That's not fair to say in this case. As I said above, web clipper development has essentially stalled for six months. So it wouldn't surprise me that today's update may add more than just the missing email function and could add fixes for many sites. At least, the OP should ensure they update to the latest extension version and test further before they report to support (because that's the first thing support will want to know, anyway).
  8. I'm not saying it's "hard" to do but do realize that when an application developer uses "native" APIs you get things like column sorting for "free." In Electron it has to be implemented manually. I do hope they add it, however. I would like to be able to sort by size.
  9. It's been in beta testing and getting tweaks so let's see how it actually rolls out before we get too upset...
  10. A new clipper for Chrome released today (7.35) which fixed a problem for me clipping Gmail emails. Maybe it'll help with WSJ articles, too?
  11. Check your clipper extension version - after about six months of no updates they finally released a new clipper for Chrome version today (7.35) which added back the Gmail option for web clipping that had been missing for over six months. Maybe it'll fix your issue, too.
  12. It's a modern style of software development. Most new software follows this style. A few examples that I use or have used: Chrome/Firefox, 1Password, Microsoft To Do, Visual Studio Code, and more. They tend to be smaller and more focused software programs. Huge legacy programs like Microsoft Office and the Adobe suite are more conservative and slower with their updates.
  13. This has sadly been a disappointing pattern during BS ownership of Evernote. Announcing a fix to an annoying bug only for us to discover it's not fully fixed.
  14. As requested, some comments: 1. I have spelling check as I write. I get red squiggly lines under misspelled words. It's an option in settings. Do you not have it or are you referring to something else? 2. Yes, this was a big complaint during the initial v10 launch. Perhaps it would help to understand the justification - Evernote chose to prioritize cross-platform compatibility during the development of v10. You may or may not be aware that many popular fonts are proprietary, and so are not available on all platforms that Evernote supports or may wish to support in the future. The current, limited, set of fonts will render correctly on desktop and mobile regardless of the underlying operating system. 3. No real comment here, except to mention that people who need advanced word processing capabilities sometimes choose to write in Microsoft Word (or whatever) and then attach the document inside Evernote if they want the document to live in EN. 4. I'm speculating somewhat, but I imagine it's similar reason to #2 - color representations differ by platform. Also, perhaps simply a desire to simplify a little bit. Not sure if that helps too much, but those are the comments I have!
  15. @gazumped as of just now the Early Access page link is completely broken.
  16. Per Federico on Twitter as of yesterday 50% of Evernoters have received access to Outlook integration. It'll probably ramp up to 100% next week.
  17. You're welcome. Thanks for providing the additional detail, though I find your version history to be a bit odd. It looks like you received progressively newer versions from 1/23 to 2/27, but then on 2/29 you went backwards to an older version. Any idea why? Did you do anything different on that day? FWIW, I was on 10.77.x until this morning, when I was auto-updated to: 10.78.2-mac-ddl-public (20240227143346) Editor: v177.5.0 Service: v1.94.2 © 2019 - 2024 Evernote Corporation. 18. Have you restarted Evernote recently? Restarted your computer recently? You should be more up-to-date than that. I've never seen someone fall more than about two versions behind without something having gone wrong in the auto-update process. @jbenson2 is about 7 updates behind, so if they don't get updated soon (particularly after restarting the app and perhaps even their computer) I recommend they go to https://evernote.com/download and download the latest version there.
  19. Thank you. That page links to another page with a FAQ, but there's no place to actually sign up. Perhaps sign-ups are paused?
  20. How does one get access to this mythical beta testing team? I was once a member of the Evernote for Android beta testing group, which was long ago disbanded. Asking for a friend...
  21. I have experienced this web clipping issue several times recently. It's frustrating. The Web clipper has not been updated in months, they removed a specific feature for clipping Gmail emails 6 months ago and haven't commented / won't tell me whether it's going to come back. I get the sense that most development resources are currently focused on the desktop app and back-end infrastructure. I hope they return to maintaining the Web clipper soon.
  22. When I tried this yesterday it was inconsistent for me and there's no visual feedback to confirm that you've clicked the right things. I'm guessing there's still no visual feedback, but are you saying it's working consistently for you now? At least that's a step in the right direction, if so.
  23. Agreed. 403 has a specific meaning in web server parlance, but anytime something goes wrong in the logic of web app 403 is a common resulting error. As a result it's really a bit of a generic error and it's not a good idea to draw any major conclusions from it.
  24. At least in theory. I've seen the inside of support departments, and the line between "feedback to developers" and the developers actually receiving that feedback in usable form is not nearly as reliable and straightforward as we would all like it to be. 😕
