  1. It continues to happen randomly. I've sent a screen recording to support. A simple close/restart of the app fixes it, but it always comes back at some unpredictable time.
  2. I don't collaborate using Evernote, but if this means overall improved syncing, I will find it a boon also. But I would be interested in hearing reports from anyone who gets the updated syncing, and also still uses the Legacy Windows program. Will it, as David Letterman used to ask, float?
  3. In lists of notes in the Android app, pulling the list downward also forces a sync.
  4. No harassment coming, just curious what kinds of things you use it for in EN. I can't imagine it being useful for me, but that may only mean my imagination is too limited!
  5. Since we are just other users here, we may not be able to suggest much more. There are two reports here, but it does not seem to be a widespread problem. If you are on a paid plan, you can contact Evernote support at https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. If not, I think you can reach out to them on Twitter. If the problem persists, it might be worth subscribing for just one month in order to get support.
  6. Welcome to the forums. This thread is about a problem on Windows. Problems on Android are likely to have completely different causes and solutions. Please look at the Android-specific support forum: https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/forum/718-evernote-for-android-issues-versions-100-and-above/. There you may find that an already-existing thread matches your situation. Best of luck!
  7. So it seems as if full note data is syncing out of the Web interface, to Evernote's servers, and down to your desktop program, but not up from your desktop program, to Evernote's servers, and then into the Web interface. If this is continuing to happen with new notes created in the desktop program, then indeed you should probably contact support. (Be aware that, as with most tech support these days, they will ask you to do things you've already done.) If you're not a paying subscriber, you can subscribe for just one month to get support, or I think you can reach out to Evernote support on Twitter.
  8. Perhaps that's why I couldn't reproduce it: I'm just not as fast as you young people. Perhaps Evernote is trying to encourage you toward more contemplative note-taking.
  9. Hi, and welcome to the forums. Please be aware that this is a user-to-user space; Evernote staff are not here.
  10. Welcome to the forums. Please look at this existing thread, and see if you are having the same problem:
  11. Probably the simplest approach would be to reset the app. By this I mean log out of it, maybe restart your mobile, and then log back in. If that doesn't work, then you could uninstall the app from your mobile and reinstall it. If you have any notes that are available offline, first make sure that they are up to date, and of course sync your notes before you uninstall. After uninstalling, restart your mobile, then re-install Evernote. Give it a couple of minutes to sync, and see if things are better. If you've been careful to sync before uninstalling, you won't lose anything this way, since the master copy of your notes is stored on Evernote's servers.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Just to be clear, it's user-to-user here. No need to apologize. My opinion is that this is a very significant feature for people who write code, and a meaningless waste for people who don't. Code writers are important, and more numerous than they used to be, but I think that even by "today's standards" they are a relatively limited segment of the user population. What's important is to find what works best for one's own purposes, and I wish you luck in that.
  13. Glad it's sorted, @eric99. I tried creating a test note and letting it sync, did so a couple of times, and it didn't fail. Probably something local or idiosyncratic in any case.
  14. Hi, and welcome to the forums. Do a search in the forums for "JavaScript". I think I've seen other reports of something like this, and if so those threads may contain some suggestions for a solution.
  15. Great catch! As this thread shows, there have been a number of problems reported that are similar to this. I wonder if a similar cause could be responsible for what some others are experiencing.
  16. Hello, and welcome to the forums. My guess would be that this has to do with Evernote's near-constant syncing of changes while you edit. I'm not an expert on today's computer hardware, but is this a problem? Does it prevent the computer from doing other things in a timely way? I haven't checked, but I assume it works much the same way for me, and the machine does not seem hampered by it.
  17. @eric99, I'm not seeing this at all. Does it happen with any note you edit, or just a particular one? You know the drill: uninstall, restart the device, reinstall (and you may already have done that). What kind of phone are you using.
  18. What exactly did "updating your free account" involve? This isn't clear to me.
  19. Hello, and welcome to the forums. Perhaps someone who uses a Mac can offer some suggestions soon, but I will say that there have been several reports of this kind of problem lately. If you have a paid subscription, you might want to create a support ticket (https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new); if not, it might be worth subscribing for one month in order to do so.
  20. Hello, and welcome to the forums. This it sounds to me as if the information did not sync properly to or from Evernote's servers at some point. If you're using the Windows desktop app, you could try using the Web client (https://www.evernote.com/) and see if your information is there. That client connects directly to Evernote's servers. If you have a paid subscription, you could access the note history to see if an earlier version of the data is there. (If you're on the free plan, you could subscribe for just one month to have access to note history, which is maintained for free as well as paid accounts.)
  21. So that makes me a serial killer, I guess. Sheesh. @agsteele's response literally right above yours sets out the reasons why Evernote's behavior is best for the kind of app it is (in contrast to, say, Notepad). Would you want your browser to completely shut down every time you closed one window?
  22. It seems quite unpredictable, which of course makes it hard to fix. I did report it to support, and they told me to do the kinds of restarts I'd already done, and send a screen video if it happens again. Which I will. EDIT April 22: Which I did, when it happened again today.
  23. Just to be clear, in my Android phone there is a button in the navigation bar at top that turns auto-rotate (as opposed to locked portrait orientation) on and off. With this button turned OFF, Evernote on unpredictable occasions improperly rotates into landscape orientation when the phone is turned sideways or laid down. A restart of the phone fixes it ... for awhile, the length of the "while" being unknowable.
  24. I only recently discovered the auto formatting for headers. That's a real boon--no more reaching and mousing, just typing # marks.
  25. Very interesting. I have no such setting under Display. Either Samsung or Verizon has really tweaked the settings.
