You may not have as much time with Legacy as they say

I have Legacy on one computer and the current version on another. The Legacy version has the red banner at the top saying that it will go away on March 20. However, as of midday yesterday, it stopped syncing. There is no error message. In my account, it says the device is still linked. I tried to open a ticket, but all I can get it to do is send me canned answers. I know I have to give up, but I much prefer Legacy and was planning to keep adding all my new notes that way as long as possible.

Or could be a simple ***** up on the server side as they process the close down.  Pareto with tech.

Edit:  It was s c r e w in the original post to protect my honor.  😊

I guess maybe posting all the steps from the activity log rather than just the end result might be more helpful. I wonder if it might just be something about my set up/account.

Hmmn.  "Less than 1%" ...of several million users is still a lot...

... especially when they all want to perform a full download instead of syncing a few notes.

Looking at something on a different thread, I think my problem may be that I'm not on v6.25.3, but a slightly older version. Does anyone know if there is still a place to download a copy of v6.25.3?

I'm on the latest version of Legacy with the grey icon. The problem is on the server end:

 [ERROR ] [28252] [4736] 0% HTTP request failed, code: 403, error: Forbidden

https://joplinapp.org/  has very good ability to import evernote notebooks although you have to import one notebook at a time.

I would suggest use Joplin to Import Evernote ENEX files as "Markdown" format and this has been working quite well for me.

I have been looking at Joplin also. It might be time to make the switch; I cannot live without legacy! It would be nice to be able to sync while I migrate though. Hopefully, this is a temporary issue, not the end of the legacy version.

Just wanted to say that I'm not sure if Evernote fixed something or if it just resolved itself, but Legacy is syncing for me this morning. Yay!

I've seen several others say the same thing. It may be, as others suggested, that the number of people logging on to Legacy (maybe some for the first time in quite awhile, others to download everything) overwhelmed them for a bit.

I've spent a lot of time this weekend downloading notebooks from Legacy and importing into Joplin.  Joplin is faster than Legacy but does not have as many features.  For my purposes Joplin is much much better than V10.  So pretty happy that Joplin is available as Legacy is being turned off  https://joplinapp.org/help/

I think it was just too many requests send to the API in a short period of time. Practically a user induced DDOS event, that healed itself when the flow ebbed off. It makes a difference if the one or other note is synced, compared to handling full downloads.
