  1. So the beta has been finished successfully then?
  2. It happens at slower speeds as well, but there is a higher probability when acting faster than your phone or the EN server can handle. Your high end S22 phone is much faster than you, therefore the race condition bug will occur less frequently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_condition#In_software High quality software should use proper software mechanisms to protect itself against all potential race conditions.
  3. I think this name was invented by the EN developers, but the more interesting part is the schizophrenic state the system is in: part of the system thinks that the editor is still busy although it has been closed, fully synced and we are already back in the note list for hours...
  4. I've sent the activity log to support with the proper timestamp "ERROR: neutron: Note editor not saved, because editor is not ready:" it stays in this deadlock until the app is restarted This is a typical race condition: I can reproduce this easier by very fast note creation/closing (a small title and a single word in the body and closing immediately, all this in a few seconds). I doubt that this will arrive at the developers' desk, considering my previous unresolved tickets concerning performance and sync problems...
  5. Sorry, I was replying to @spersephone post
  6. Unfortunately, the problem is there again, probably caused by an unhandled race condition. I'll investigate it further tomorrow...
  7. thanks for the tip but it didn't help. In the mean time, after complete uninstall/reinstall, I can't reproduce the problem anymore (so far) Maybe, the timing is different after the fresh install which makes race conditions less likely or there is a version incompatibility (my app was reinstalled just before 10.50 arrived, so a corrupted database or something like that was probably not the root cause)
  8. Yes, I already tried to uninstall etc but no avail. It can easily be reproduced by creating a new note on the android client. After closing, the note list is displayed again and it looks completely normal. The new note is synced on my desktop as well. But my android client refuses to open or create any other note from now on, it just stays in the note list, clicking does nothing anymore. When I stop the app (no logout, just stopping) and restart, everything is fine again until the next new note.
  9. Did the update as well, and there seems to be a dramatic regression unfortunately. After editing a single note and closing it, the android client gets unresponsive until I stop the android app and start it again. This is 100% reproducible. It seems to me that developers have lost control of the Android client and don't really know which screws to turn. It goes from bad to worse 😕 I've seen this behaviour in the 10.49 as well, but then I reinstalled from the app store and got 10.48 which doesn't have that problem
  10. Thanks for the tip, I didn't realize that the striketrough can be turned off. But in that case, @PuddinHead's shopping list problem has been solved I think ?
  11. I hope the new owner is smart enough to finally fix the foundations first before allowing anything new on top of it
  12. which is of course one of the main reasons for it's 40 years dominance over mac os and the 600+ linux distros 😏
  13. On my windows client, the note list width is properly persisted when leaving evernote via the menu: file->close evernote ... Are we talking about the same width?
  14. The note list width will be persisted by exiting evernote via the file menu -> "close evernote" before restarting your PC
  15. Yes, I have the same problem, but it doesn't bother me because I don't use the terrible slow android client anyway (shooting a photo and saving the note takes minutes)
  16. I started doing some tests on Upnote. The first and most important feature is export to prevent vendor lock-in: Upnote's html export is far more superior than V10 in all aspects: different from V10, upnote html has working links to all note attachments and these links are relative links into the html folder structure. This means that the html export is self contained and can be moved to other locations in your file system. for a small note, the html size is 1 KB only, with very clean html code underneath. The same note in V10 html takes 354 KB with very bloated unreadable html code underneath and still no working links whatsoever! And the whole upnote product has been developed by two developers only. Bending Spoons made a big mistake not buying this company. Make these guys the EN chief architects. Maybe they can still save evernote...
  17. 25 USD x 100 million switched evernote users = 2.5 billion USD, not bad for a team of a few developers 🙂
  18. Next time, you could undo ( ctrl-z ) the delete...
  19. from 35 to 50 USD, isn't that 43% increase, not 77%. Where is that percentage coming from?
  20. Isn't it even more, $133 instead of $110 per year ? The more plausible explanation is that they probably "forgot" to apply the 40% and charged the full price of 80 dollars... What does support say about this 'price discount' ?
  21. What this proves is that chatGPT technology is to premature to be used in EN, Notion or any other real world application where sensitive data is involved. "...OpenAI says it's unable to delete specific prompts from a user's history, adding that people shouldn't "share any sensitive information in your conversations..."
  22. You've probably missed my previous post: chatGPT exposed the titles of past conversations to other users: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/chatgpt-bug-exposed-peoples-conversation-history/ Also, the other article I posted is a perfect summary of all privacy /legal problems with AI: https://gcn.com/data-analytics/2023/02/chatgpt-data-privacy-nightmare-if-youve-ever-posted-online-you-ought-be-concerned/382718/
