  1. Thanks. I particularly appreciate mis-typings. The brain said mite and the fingers typed might. 🤣 Not the first time it has happened unfortunately.
  2. The other upside to an HTML export is that you can use the options to keep the meta data for tags, created/updated dates and URL. A banner of sorts is added to the top of the HTML. These files are easily searchable if you focus index the files, in Windows. Downsides are you end up with "a lot" of files, the HTML for the note and a folder containing any attachments in the note, including icons and the like. Plus, EN only uses 45 characters of the note title for the file name. That being said the HTML repository works very well as a searchable data base. Example of output. FWIW. File Name (Tech is a tag I bulk added post export) Top of HTML page
  3. It sounds like WorkFlowy. [[ is the keyboard shortcut in WF that lets you search for the "node" you want to link in the current node. (( is the keyboard shortcut in WF that lets you search for the "node" you want to mirror in the current node. Mirrored = changes anywhere of a mirrored node (children too) update all instances of the mirrored node everywhere. What folks who want duplicate notes seek. WF uses the left panel as a shortcuts bar of a sorts. Items in the sidebar can zoom in - zoom out.
  4. Update. I dropped using EN for tables as I just kept getting duplicate notes, in a basic account with 25 notes. Makes no sense. Switched to Google sheets linked into WorkFlowy. Easy access from desktop or mobile. Simple tables so it is fine for my use case. Not trying to step on EN's toes, just providing other larger EN account users some info. And yeah, EN, table notes seem to duplicate with ease.
  5. 🤣 My bad. I read macros not macos. Time for another cup of coffee. Or maybe one less?
  6. As above I landed on OneDrive using Windows indexing. Added Directory Opus (access) and Workflowy (notes and tasks). And a group of AutoHotKeys to integrate email saving. Not as good as EN 6.25.1 but heaps better than V10. It's a use case thing for sure and I think speed is impacted by account size. I will keep checking back here from time to time to see if things get "fixed". One tool to do the job is always better than multiple. Really hated to do it after all the years, but not much choice....
  7. You can install the old client and use it as long as it is available. No lags there.
  8. I stopped adding to EN earlier this month. I am keeping it for backup and hopes of EN fixing itself. Though the loss of local notebooks is what gave me the most impetus. They may fix speed (iffy for large accounts based upon the platform in use, I hope I am wrong) but no sign of local notebooks ever returning. A big part of my use case is paperless. I just don't want to search in two places. So, I exported all 56k notes via HTML to OneDrive using BoxCryptor for encryption when needed, with Windows indexing enabled for the lot. I've said this before in the forums, but I was surprised at the capability and speed of Windows indexing. Search responses are typically as quick as EN legacy. Who woulda thunk? And as per Gaz, I added WorkFlowy for note taking and task management in my case. WF is lightening on desktop, browser, and mobile. It seems to be working well as I develop new muscle memory. Time will tell I suppose if I jumped ship too soon.
  9. Windows. I used the export to HTML. You can get tags to appear in the HTML if you select options on the export panel. The HTML files are then searchable by tag assuming you have some indexing process in play. And the URL is clickable. What I lost were any title characters after I think it was 45 or so. Can make a file name search dup up depending on your note title standards. I did not care so much about notebook but as I use Directory Opus it would have been easy enough to mass edit file name changes. A screen shot of what the top of the HTML looks like with the above options are set.
  10. Yup, in the same crowd though I'm already in the hills. I ported all my EN stuff so as to have one place to search. Have been adding new stuff since 12/1, traditional month cutover who woulda thunk. Not as well-oiled as legacy at this point, part system but mostly operator muscle memory. Still so much faster than V10. Will keep a basic account with the old data for access should something come up. Otherwise, a new world order. Sub expires end of the month. Also very 😥
  11. I was about 5 rows down in the table when I got the duplicate note. Each line on the table (3 columns, 2 with only a few characters, the last with less than 100. I suppose I could have had a dumb a$$ attack and went to the second platform too quickly, but I don't think so. We will leave it at that. 🤷‍♀️
  12. I just opted to leave EN after the better part of 14 years due to the speed and cumbersome UI issues. The one thing missing in my new solution is tables. Though tables were failing with the new EN as I was getting duplicates over and over. So, I thought I would try a basic account to see if a smaller DB would make any difference. Same issue exists with 10 or 56,000 notes. It would seem a table note can get duplicated no matter your diligence in syncing, browser and iPhone in this case, with changes hours apart. It appears links to Excel files will be the new home of my tables. It would be nice to return to EN if these things ever get fixed.
  13. To be clear I created my repository on OneDrive, it supports syncing and backup. Being a 365 subscriber the 1 TB provided therein makes for a simple choice. Side note, the EN HTML backup includes tags so searches of those files are virtually the same as before, without the tag prefix parameter. New "notes" are all PDF files so global searches are text based. On some of the new file names I do add a single tag for winnowing the results list when need be, [Stmt] for example. The folder structure is bifurcated to old EN and new stuff as well. Me too on OneNote, no value at all. Ditto for the others - Nimbus, Joplin, Notion, etal. Windows desktop 6.25.1 is still the best product on the market today, IMHO. Also, to be clear, I would rather not have done this. But V10 is just so SLOW and cumbersome for me. 😥 I've been using EN since November 2008 so not a step I took lightly. Thanks for the well wishes, same to you.
  14. Yeah. I’m going back to that. I’ve exported all notes to OneDrive at this point using HTML export. EN HTML export has some warts but it provides a good repository. Windows indexing to enable a very fast search. Directory Opus and Workflowy to complete the ensemble. With a little AHK to grease the skids. Not as good as 6.25.1 but WAY WAY better than V10, my use case. Premium sub will lapse this month. A shame but it is what it is at this point. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t think new EN is geared to larger accounts.
  15. Just wondering which of the two causes the lags in updates. Maybe the lags were always there and the native client insulated us from them?
  16. For some use cases the new version(s) are molasses in January slow as compared to the old version(s). Both performance and UI. Period. I understand why they did what they did but the how mystifies me. Still using 6.25.1 Window desktop. Only use IOS for lookup so as to not create duplicates (send to my EN email as opposed to adding in IOS). To date I have mirrored 90% of my 57k notes to a cobbled solution which is not as good as 6.25.1 but is better than V10. Still ironing out the GTD/TSW bit. I simply cannot deal with the SLOW. PITA.
  17. My sense of V10 in general, hence still using 6.25.1. The productivity hit for my use case with V10 is mind numbing. Some due to the inefficiency of the new engine and some due to feature and process changes such as this. Version 6.25.1 is just faster and I suppose I tuned it to my needs across the years (mostly single click actions or AHK scripts). My mind has not time to wander. I know, someone moved my cheese. 🤷‍♂️ After a year I have begun mirroring my 56k notes to a different solution. It won't be as efficient as 6.25.1 but will be orders of magnitude faster than V10 in its current state. Really did not want to start the process but 6.25.1 won't be around forever.
  18. Help me out here. My understanding, could be wrong, is that the content of the link is not indexed in EN, it's just a link. If that's correct what's the joy in the integration? Jumping off point?
  19. One reason to keep legacy around for a bit.
  20. Evernote Legacy? 🤣 Couldn't help myself. It seems to be a use case thing,. Some folks report a positive experience with V10, that is quick enough and works well for them. My personal experience is that IOS is okay but Windows desktop and browser are painfully slow as compared to legacy (the times I've tried it every couple of months). My wife's account in the browser is fine, a couple thousand notes nothing particularly complicated. I however stick with 6.25.1. I saw a new release came out today which is supposed to pep things up a bit, maybe give that a try and share your views back here.
