  1. They used to tell us, even they didn't include the details in App Store, they did here.
  2. They just say in response to individual Twitter that "asap". As more and more users disappoint with no actions done, Evernote should release a blog article or Twitter to acknowledge. This time they fail to (they are unwilling to) do this. Their ignorance seems like implying that "I got your money and paid an effort for a big new product, so what?".
  3. I think Elektron (sorry what is this? Is this the foundation for a system?) doesn't matter a lot. Notion can develop an app well. What matters is how Evernote was developing a new app, how they communicate with users, and how they are willing to improve the situation. What we see is that the public beta fails to ensure an app with an acceptable level of bugs. This version proves to be unusable, worse than the first beta. So when they fail on the first round, there are so many things to do these five days: They can keep releasing v10.0.1, 10.0.2, 10.0.3 quickly to address one or two serious bugs every two or three days. They are not willing to do it! If they cannot launch the above patches, they can put back v8.24.6 to the App Store. They are not willing to do it! Talk to the public what they are doing now (like in blog articles). The company just leaves it to the support team, while the latter can't solve problems themselves. They just keep showing off their new features. If they don't change their attitudes or behaviours, even giving up the Elektron that what you said does not help!
  4. Seems that the company just leaves the responsibility (of communication) to the support team, however the team members are trying their best but there is something needed to be solved by the management. It makes me feel the management is not responsible, not brave to admit the problems. No small patches to fix some of the problems these few days are also to blame. I also start using Notion. Fast and reliable. You can tap "?" on the bottom right corner on Mac, or on the bottom of the sidebar on iOS. They will address your issue shortly.
  5. What is funny is that on Twitter you can see Ian Small just posted his blog article since 16 Sept and nothing else, Evernote still shows off the new features on iOS, and replies to some users that MacOS version is coming very soon. What I see is the support team is trying their best to answer users' issues, and nothing else. Where is Ian Small? Where are the management and product team members? They make me feel that they tend to ignore the problems. As one of the support member replied to my mail that, he couldn't solve my issue personally. I totally agree with him and I think he has done more than enough. The whole company should be responsible for the unusable product. But when Ian Small and other related people are hiding behind, I realize this company will never grow. Ignorance will lead to the mighty fall. There should still be supporters on v10.0 amid the buggy product, but there will be other events / crises leading to lose more and more customers. This time is the worst ever compared to version 8.0 and privacy policy controversy. Sorry. I miss Chris O'Neill. He at least responded to the issues very quickly and admitted that he did make a mistake.
  6. 5 days already. Just wonder what they are doing. The support team is trying their best to reply as quick as possible (possibly quicker than normal). But where is the product team and management? In the past the former Google CEO had already apologized for the terms and conditions, and version 8.0 had only lasted for less than three days. Rolling back v8.24.6 on the App Store is the best and easy way. At least some of the customers will appreciate that you are brave to admit and face the big crisis. No one response / action is perfect at this moment but doing something is better than nothing. Expect just let the support team address the customers' issues alone.
  7. They claimed a total of 150,000 users were involved in the beta. Rather than beta, I would suggest they develop a new app which is like v10.0 now while keeping v8.24.6 (called legacy) without any updates except some necessary fix or ensure compatibility with iOS versions, allowing time for users to try new things and provide feedbacks, and for developers to make it better and bring back all features, until the app is mature and most users are willing to use it and they no longer find major problems.
  8. I remember when v8.0 was launched, there were some dissatisfaction but Evernote kept updating to minimise the negative effect as much as possible. (v8.0.1, v8.0.2, v8.0.3...until v8.0.6 every two to three days at first if I am not wrong) But now after four days since the roll out and the blog posts, they remain quiet besides the staff's response to individual customers. When the Behind the Scene was on YouTube, I did feel some hope on the company, but when they were quiet for long these years I felt they had to communicate more (the ETA of when the update will be released). Now the update has become a big crisis, the biggest ever, and this is telling us Ian Small as a CEO is a completely false hope, that he doesn't handle the crisis and the problem well. Thus I won't have any confidence on how version 10 will be fixed. If version 8 has been improved 80% then v10 for less than 50%.
  9. Yes, they don't use Evernote. They don't integrate Evernote into their career life. They don't think and try how building Evernote can help their productivity and business. For them Evernote is just a product and they have already made it to customers. If that is the case, I can't find any reason to continue using it. When I start trying Notion I can see what they are doing, and they are improving within two months, compared to EN which claimed they had built up an improved version for two years but finally unusable apps. There are still big advantages and improvements of v10.0, but this release with the response of the company would make much more customers give up EN than when v8.0 launched. If they really care about customers, they should have already put back v8.24.6 to the App Store or roll out v10.0.1 and even v10.0.2. They just say fix soon and even MacOS will be released soon.
  10. I also stopped the automatic renewal to seek alternatives, even though no single app can replace and combination of several note-taking apps and paper notebooks is still better than using Evernote alone.
  11. The new adding tag experience is so painful. You have to search if there are no old tags first, then you can create one. It takes more than one steps to finish... FOR EVERY TAG. Crazy. I can imagine when exploring more and more the apps, I will be more and more frustrated.
  12. I have tried adding tags when adding new note, the experience is so painful. In the past (v8.24.6 or before), adding tags is easy and convenient. When you type a keyword, the app will show you similar tags for you to choose. If you want to add an entirely new one, you can just type the whole word to create it. That's it. But now things are confusing. First I have to search (Find tags) if there are tags I have created before. If not, tap "New tag". The weird thing is that, when I create a new tag, there is a list of similar tags showing me. How about if I change my mind choosing those existing tags? You can't tap them, and instead you have to tap "Cancel" going back to the previous page and "Find tags" again. What don't you maintain the best old iOS way rather than showing something so-called new and improved?
  13. After a few days of use, my stance has changed. I am really disappointed with the great new version now. Unusability. Unreliability. How come the core function cannot work properly? I accept bugs but not the basic core feature which allows users to create, edit, print, clip notes without worries. Version 10 is just like a beta iOS which sometimes phone call cannot be made/received. Thus I start thinking about changing platforms, but as no single app can replace the whole Evernote I will consider using several options at the same time like Notion, Apple Notes and even analog paper notebooks/sticky notes.
  14. I just wonder why they insist on releasing it even when the app is not ready, much worse than beta 1. I am so mean to say, even a paper notebook is much more reliable than Evernote v10.0!!! I paid for something which messed my tidy notes up!
  15. I think they need to put back v8.24.6 to the App Store, or if they can release v10.0.1, 10.0.2...at least every two to three days trying their best to fix as more issues as possible.
  16. I admit as a user I am looking forward to the update, but not the update which can erode the trust with users. In version 8.0 I didn't consider leaving, but now I start thinking seriously about it. They did very well on improving functions and UI, but these become meaningless when the core feature cannot function properly.
  17. * PLEASE do not change users' title in the forum and I am not unhappy. I just can't accept the big buggy update. I am happy because I have left Evernote for much better note-taking app! Evernote needs to improve as much as possible but not spends time editing posts. I used to be impressed with the big update, but after using three days, I can absolutely I can't really accept it! On v8.0 I didn't find it unusable although there were so many bugs. On v10.0, I regretted updated it. One of the disastrous examples is the sync problem. On my three devices at the same time, with "Date Updated" view I can get different notes. Note that there are duplicate notes on MacOS I wasn't notified. I tried to refresh by scrolling down and nothing works, unless I forced quitting iOS/iPadOS apps. As your blog article said, "The company’s Beta Program incorporated nearly 150,000 users representing nearly every country in the world, with feedback collected through surveys, forums, Apple TestFlight, Google Play, and extensive user testing." So why 150,000 users can't find those bugs which are critical to the basic function? "An improved, reliable foundation. By rebuilding “under the hood,” the new Evernote features a smooth, automated sync; provides peace of mind with automated app updates; and will allow for more rapid feature development." Do you think you have already done it, or are moving in an opposite direction? I am not the only one to complain it. You can find these comments here and also on Twitter. I expect under this circumstance, the company will roll out v10.0.1 and even v10.0.2 in these few days. However, nothing has done yet. Should I say Evernote should allow users to use v8.24.6 again, until v10.0 is much better?
  18. A few days ago I couldn't update my notes. I made changes several times and the app does not save my newer versions. We actually have been waiting for more than a year for a more reliable, better version, as they said on YouTube. They also had beta versions for some members. But after the beta, it becomes another iOS 11 Public Beta 1 in which you find even basic charging is not functioning (happened on my iPhone 5s at that time). I expect in this case, Evernote should have v10.0.1 and even v10.0.2 within these three days since v10.0, like what other app developers did. However, nothing has been done yet. Users have to switch to the stable MacOS/Windows/Android for the long time.
  19. I am afraid if it is worse than v8.0. At first I find it great but when I try to use more then it's more and more frustrating. I expect they will launch v10.0.1 after one or two days but now it's three days especially when people find it unusable. I used to have a very annoying issue that v8.24.x always refreshed to the top and waited for more than a year (as they told the members there would be big updates solving fundamental problems on YouTube). After more than a year, the bug has been fixed but more bugs are coming.
  20. Just updated yesterday and tried the new version for a short time, I would like to share some of my feedbacks on the big update. Dark Mode was already good especially compared to other apps in terms of legibility, while v10.0 further improves. Maybe due to the change of fonts. But the hyperlink color is too bright and I prefer the one on v8.24.6 or before (light blue same as on the current Light Mode). The readability of the Light Mode improves too! The hyperlink colour is comfortable for the eyes, and the line height too. In terms of aesthetic (my subjective point of view), the new font may not be beautiful as Helvetica, but will be easier to read especially on Dark Mode. Usability is important than aesthetic in most times. The font is a bit small on iPhone X (5.8-inch), but it doesn't make me harder to review notes. On iPad version, I hope there will be tabs and new windows supported, and in landscape mode the note width can be optimised for readability like on Web version. The edit button is too confusing and not necessary as we can still edit the note by tapping on the area we want to make changes. Overall it's a great new version. Easy to take new notes and revisit my past experiences (tags) on the go. I would like to say thank all of your team members for the effort of improving Evernote! Looking forward to the upcoming bug fixes and further improvements.
  21. I think I have gone through the threads here, and try to report some bugs I saw especially what others haven't yet mentioned. I can't open the attachment. The attachment bar only shows "Loading..." and at the same time I can't scroll through the same note. On Dark Mode Screen flickers twice (whole white) before opening each note. It happens on my iPad Pro (10.5-inch, 2017) and does not happen on my iPhone X. When clear formatting of internal note links, they become blue colour same as web link instead (No problems on light mode). Unnecessary space between the heading of Shortcuts and the shortcuts (see the attachment). Sometimes it's not easy to swipe back to note list from the note. Looking forward to the continuously improving versions. And thanks for the update!
  22. Yes, a bit slow especially on iPad Pro (10.5-inch, 2017).
  23. I think the reloading problem is less serious although it still exists. In the long run, I am looking forward to the coming revolutionary new version. But to suggest here that, the launching screen in the dark mode has to change into black background as well to result in consistent dark experience.
