  1. But I don't see a list of what is fixed. The app store just has the same description as the 10.0 release. Both iOS and iPadOS.
  2. On MacOS, it looks like Chrome got 10.0 but Safari is stuck at 5.33. Safari, which I mostly use, has been at 5.33 for some time now, while Chrome was getting updates. So I have been running Chrome to use Evernote web, and Safari for everything else.
  3. The web version puts little handles at the beginning of each bullet item which you can use to reorder the lines by dragging them. This would be great on iOS too. I just found some release notes that indicate drag and drop will come to the iPad, so maybe that will be what I'm hoping for..
  4. I've always been bothered by the small default font on Evernote iOS. Evernote 10 improves the situation a lot in that pinch to zoom works better than before, so you can make the font bigger while viewing or editing. But it would be nice if there was a Setting for default font size (or at least the display size) so the default wouldn't have to be so small, especially on my phone.
  5. Another alternative would be to let the user set the default font size - I have always found the default font, especially on the iPhone, to be too small.
  6. If you try the web beta you will see that Evernote does (or soon will) offer more text formatting controls than in the past, so they have been listening. What is not in the beta is the ability to set defaults - like a default font size. Hopefully this will come eventually. For me, especially on iOS, the default font is way too small. If you compare the default font in Evernote to Apple's Notes or most any other text editor, it is much smaller. I also would note that the number of votes for a feature in this forum is pretty meaningless. There are millions of Evernote users, and what, a couple of hundred active forum participants? Not very representative.
  7. On my iMac, it is browser dependent - Safari gets 5.33, Chrome gets 6.17. Which is weird, since Safari is the default browser for the Mac.
  8. I use Bear for most of my note taking, so I do appreciate the usefulness of Markdown. But keep in mind.. You are using beta software, and we don't know the intent - maybe this is the first pass at implementing full Markdown, or maybe this was added so people who are familiar with Markdown could edit faster and it wouldn't bother those who don't care about Markdown. I'm not convinced it makes sense at this point to add full Markdown to Evernote. It is a pretty geeky thing, and I would guess most Evernote users couldn't care less about Markdown. Plus as I understand it, the goal of the first iteration of the "new" Evernote is to match the current implementation, not to add new features. Markdown would be a new feature. Just implementing a bug free editor seems like a good enough goal for starters.
  9. I hope you are right.. but almost exactly one year ago I grabbed a similar deal, with exactly the same expectation. A year later, still no new version and still the same bugs in the existing apps.
  10. Since development at Evernote seems to be focused on the "new" version, I think it is doubtful that a fix like this is going to be made on the current app. There are more impactful problems - like notes being redrawn when you return to the app - that have more complaints than this that are also being ignored. If this is also a bug in the beta, then I would suggest complaining there.. and if it works the way you want in the beta, then use the beta when you can. Believe me, I wish they were more active fixing things on the current iOS version, but they aren't.
  11. It is strange that they have gone from such great transparency on the upcoming version to silence. They are even silent about changes to the web beta, where the release number changes every once in a while, but they don't say what is different. If you are happy with the current Evernote, none of this is a problem. For me, primarily using iOS, I'm not happy with the existing issues - screen redraws, tiny iPhone font, and others - the lack of progress is getting wearing. When I re-upped a year ago, it was in anticipation of the new version. A year later, it is almost time to renew again, and I'm still using essentially the same app as a year ago.
  12. This doesn't seem to apply to iOS.. if I create a note, set it to the largest font size, then save it as a template, then try to use that template, it doesn't appear to include the font size - I start typing and it is in the tiny default font. But if the template includes some text in the large font, then it is fine.
  13. Not only is there no version history, but the last time I looked, the version you get depends on the browser - on my Mac, Chrome and Safari show different version numbers, which Chrome showing a higher version number.
  14. I wanted to get a bit more serious about using the beta, so downloaded the "Fluid" app on my Mac. Fluid is an app that acts as a wrapper for a web page, so after a quick setup it makes Evernote web almost seem like a real app - it can be launched from the Dock, and hides the usual browser tabs and bookmarks. A bit of a preview of what Evernote Mac will be like..
  15. I've only played with it a short time, but using the web beta on my iPad - including a mouse! - works pretty well. The mouse (it works with a trackpad too) makes a big difference in editing text. Things like selecting text are much easier than using your fingers. I'm sure there will be gotchas, but at first glance it is pretty good.
  16. I notice that the beta web client changed from 6.6 to 6.7 on Chrome. But unlike most betas I have used over the years, there is no announcement, no list of changes.. It seems like the web beta isn't really being treated like a real beta release. Users seem to have little insight into how things are going with the "new" Evernote, what features are there and what aren't.
  17. Keep in mind that updates to the current iOS version of Evernote have pretty much come to a halt. Don't expect this to be fixed until the "new" version of Evernote is available.
  18. My own experience: signed up for the beta when it was first offered, heard nothing for months. So a bit ago, signed up again. Soon after, I got a confirmation that they accepted me, and they would contact me when they had something to test. That was several weeks ago, and I don't know if I was accepted because of the second sign up or if it was just a coincidence. At any rate, from this forum and the forum at reddit, it appears that the betas have had a very limited roll out so it is probably a bit early to get too excited..
  19. Having only 7 votes means next to nothing. There are millions of Evernote users, while maybe, what, a hundred regular contributors to this forum? Hard to see how the votes in this forum mean anything. For what its worth, I think this is a terrible bug, and it has greatly changed how I use Evernote. Basically, I've stopped using it to take notes, now it is only an archive. And with a new version on the horizon, I don't expect it to be fixed until that version is released. On iOS bug fixes or improvements have essentially stopped.
  20. Using the new web client, I constantly get this message: "Do you want to allow “https://www.evernote.com” to use up to 2.1 GB of storage on your Mac?" The message repeats itself every few minutes, increasing the GBs it is asking about. I assume this is a Safari "feature". I haven't tried it with Chrome. Are others seeing this? And another question - is this the best place for questions about the new web client? I sorta expected a new forum to be set up just for the "new" client..
  21. Yes, this happens with iOS, you are not alone. There is no solution AFAIK. Other than what I do, which is to not use Evernote on iOS for taking notes 😕
  22. I wonder how much votes in this forum matter to development. There are other sources - Twitter, Evernote Support - of user input that might influence the developers more. At any rate, with the new core editor that is being talked about, which is supposed to work and be the same everywhere, I would expect there to be an Undo button - it would be pretty difficult to shake my iMac to undo.. And if we are counting votes, I too really dislike shaking my phone as the only way to undo something..
  23. Yes, this is really annoying behavior. It means that if for instance I am jotting things down during a meeting, when it is likely my phone will shut off between jottings, this behavior essentially make Evernote useless. So I use Apple Notes in this circumstance, and later Share the note to Evernote. So I have to use two apps where one should be adequate. I believe there are other threads discussing this issue. I seem to remember getting the impression that this refresh is a "fix" for another problem, that I don't recall.
  24. Came across this yesterday.. a bit of a fluff piece, no real details, but I was interested that is says "the new common editor is out in beta". I guess they mean the web beta.. I'm anxious to see it on iOS.. https://www.builtinaustin.com/spotlight/2019/10/15/working-at-evernote-austin-engineering
