For many users, the small unchangeable default font on iOS isn't that big of an issue - this forum isn't exactly overwhelmed with complaints about it. But for some of us this is indeed a crucial issue. No matter if writing a "basic note", or something more complicated, having a font that is unpleasant to view because it is so small is a deal breaker. It has nothing to do with the type or complexity of a note, its a basic UI issue. If an app isn't pleasant to use, then I'm not going to use it.

This is why though I keep Evernote around as an archive, I am no longer a paying customer. Something so basic, yet fonts have been ignored for years.

On the other hand, Evernote Android got a slider to control font size a few months ago, iOS still doesn't have it. The "unified editor" isn't very unified.

Notice that the first post in this thread goes back to Jan 2015? For whatever reason, Evernote has ignored font issues on mobile for years. Maybe the developers have to get older with declining vision before they will deal with such a basic issue ?

Which is true, but awkward. Evernote on the iPad has an undo button, so why not have it on the iPhone too? Like essentially every other editor on the iPhone.

Wow, I agree completely; I've never understood two things: how an app with "note" in its name could have such a bad note editor, and why Evernote users aren't more demanding about it getting fixed. On iOS, where I've used it for years, still very basic things don't work: copy/paste, font sizes, checkboxes.. I don't understand how people can use this editor day in and day out without noticing. But maybe people just don't use Evernote for notes - at least not on mobile. This is why I'm hard pressed to justify paying $45 a year for Evernote - why think that the editor will suddenly get fixed if it hasn't for the last five years? To be fair, they have fixed some editor bugs in iOS, and greatly improved the Android editor, and I find the Mac editor quite usable. But iOS is still inferior to almost any other iOS editor you can name, so paying a yearly fee for its use it pretty hard to swallow.

The thing is, there are always bugs in software. Many aren't apparent to users, or are so obscure that that they are noticed by only a handful of users. Other bugs are obvious and effect lots of users. So you have to prioritize - you fix the stuff that effects the most people or have the most impact, or are easy to fix. So some of the obscure bugs stay at the bottom on the list, and never get fixed. Of course how you prioritize isn't easy to decide. For instance, for me, the failure to give users a way to enlarge the fonts used on iOS is a deal breaker, and I no longer use Evernote for taking notes, and see no need to be a subscriber. How this isn't viewed as a high priority bug that effects lots of users - who have complained about it for years - I don't know. But I assume it is because the developers just don't see it as an issue. Not enough user interest, or it is too complicated to fix easily, who knows. Or maybe the shear number of other high priority complaints have pushed fonts to the bottom of the priority list.

But of course this will increase the font size across apps, not just in Evernote. iOS is even worse - changing the system font size is ignored by Evernote. It has been like this for years, despite many complaints. For whatever reason, the developers don't see it as an issue.

Reminders CAN be manually sorted - so I use them both as a task list and as a way to keep notes I'm interested in at the top of the display (Android). If you have a group of notes you want sorted, you can put them in a Notebook together, make them all Reminders, and now you have a list of notes that can be manually reordered. Not that I wouldn't mind the ability to manually reorder notes. But for now, using Reminders for my currently active notes is a good workaround.

You are absolutely right - the editor on Android is terrible. In a brief discussion with a developer on the Google+ Evernote Beta Community, the developer acknowledged these issues and said there are "technical limitations" with the editor that they are looking into. There is of course no way to know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if the editor is very old code that needs a lot of work or a complete do over. I hope they are working on it. In the mean time, I do most of my quick notes using Google Keep, then archive my Keep notes into Evernote. I suspect Phil Libin doesn't carry an Android phone, else this would have been fixed long ago..

I can't think of any reason I'd want to alphabetize the contents of my notes, but I surely would like to be able to drag items in a checklist to re-order them. Right now, I don't find much use for checklists as a shopping or task list, as re-ordering has to be done via cut and paste, and all sorts of strange things can happen in Evernote when you mess with checkboxes..

YES! It would be great if all notes in Evernote were like Reminders - use the first line of text acts as a title. Now, creating a note is a two step process, while Reminders are created in one step.

Or why not have the first line of text become the title? That way you don't need to jump from content to title or vice versa..
