  1. Hi, I would like to test the App, could not find any links on your website. Can you please send me the Beta Testing Link?
  2. This product seems to be very well developed.. At the moment though, I have a very limited Internet connection speed and i depend upon a lot of Evernote Indexer Files, and MetaData tagging.. Sure, I would love to have it all encrypted, but at the moment, my other needs are more important with inbuilt Evernote functionality than encryption.. And already my internet connection is .. for the past few months.. But, I am sure that this is defintely a product in need.. Maybe, when I am a little free, i might consider this product atleast to encrypt my Personal diary journal in Evernote.. Good Luck with this product guys.. We need more and more Third Party developers to develop functionalities that are not being natively provided by Evernote..
  3. Hi Scott .. I have 8000+ Notes. No Issues in Windows, although there were some issues in a previous IOS beta. Now, they seem kind of sorted. Android is also running smooth. Database size around 10 GB. Regarding Third party Applications : Evernote is a great App in a sense and therotically third party app builders can take the experience and heighten it very much. But practically, having used gazillions of them, it hardly seems to be the case, atleast in mine, where i generally get a poor experience. The only third party applications that i have benefitted from have been the direct EN Ones like Skitch, PenUltimate etc. The Other kind of Integrations that work well are the other ones that typically only do an Export to Evernote, like Feedly, Reeder , Snapshot to Evernote etc.. Hardly have I benefitted from a Third Party App that uses EN's existing data and improves its functionality, I have even paid for an App which initially was supposed to be a great alternative for the IOS Evernote client, but it hasn't been updated for over two years now. Hell, It does not even support Evernote Reminders. So, either ways, you can see that People who develop Third Party applications have problems with the pricing at some point, unless they have good backing that gives them a long run. The best example of this case can be Postach.io.. So, eventually, there have been cases where Third party applications built over EN have had pricing models at 15 dollars a month.. So, Either way, what i see is that the Free Apps, Dont get enough conversions, or the Premium Third party apps get so little money that they stop development and even hurt the users who paid for them in the first place.. There can be exceptions, though,, Off course. One example is the Bubble Browser for Ipad, I think originally the App costed some 2 or 3 dollars. It is now free. But when i integrated it. the graphical views were totally different. It gave me a different interpretation of my own data, which i typically sort neatly across Tags and Notebooks. Now, from what i understand of your Application, I don't see any difference between what you do , and teh Link-> Notes feature, a stock feature in Evernote, followed by the Context Feature. Maybe, I am wrong here. Could be. Most importantly, it isn't about building an app. Whether you charge for it or not , is upto you. But in my view, A third party app that charges over and above a core functionality, when gazillions of users use the base app for free, and premium guys dont pay more than 3 or 4 dollars a month is absurd, no matter how good the functionality. This may change for Business users, but for regular users, I don't think the TPTs work that well, generally speaking in my opinion.. This is not to demotivate you.. But before you take statistics on user, Also do a statistical study on how TPT apps built over Evernote have performed monitarily as well. Good Luclk
  4. There seem to be quite a few close alternatives to Evernote on MAC, but not many on Windows, i guess... atleast not at the moment. The closest i see is 1N, but it hasn't appealed me enough to move ship, yet..
  5. @centrallo.. I think their ad made me think in terms of Wunderlist.. Not very impressive, for a workflow, since, I prefer the other way.. And in any case.. their pricing is not very impressive.. Nothing about Tags.. Editing .. and most importantly.. no Windows.. no Evernote import support.. So.. thats a thumbs down..Sir..
  6. Good luck for your project.. This is something that a lot of people have been requesting for.. and the fact that it is client side encryption makes it even more interesting.. But if my understading is right, the encrypted notes won't be indexed and show up in evernote search results, but i guess, you can't have the cake and eat it too.. Good Luck guys..
  7. @ecrowell.. I think apps like Clever HD need to be banned from App store.. They promise so much.. and users repose their faith by paying and suddenly, no updates.. can you believe that the app still doesn't have reminder integration, last updated for IOS 7.. on Septermber 2013.. Dude, we are in 2015.. If you can't live with the times, why don't you announce that the project is being stopped.. and return users the money?
  8. Any third party developer should remember one thing. Internet bandwidth, especially in developing countries is extremely expensive and quality is extremely poor. The greatest reason why i felt Evernote was a success among its peers was that apart from Android, IOS, Web, it had an offline Windows Application that could be used offline whenever Internet is available, can be syncd. So, app developers please put this in mind, that ur 3rd party apps have more offline access, more the reach.
  9. This thread is probably one of the most important threads in the history of this forum, because for the first time, Premium Users, Power Users and even some of the Evangelists have come about openly expressing their displeasure on various issues regarding to Evernote, almost unanimously in one thread. The irony is that almost all the users here, are the ones who were almost vocal supporters of the product and have helped grow the product in their own small ways. I have to thank the Evangelists ( no matter, how much I am against them in other threads), who pain stakingly reply to every newbie on the thread, on the silliest of questions, rather than grudgingly telling them to search within the Forum. Surely, its Evangelists have played a very important role in the company, no matter, how often they tend to be misinterpreted/disliked by many of us, whenever we criticized Evernote. I see this thread not as signs of a rebellion, but rather as the first strong seeds of distrust and cracks that are beginning to show up in Phil Libin's 100 year old dreams. I do hope that Evernote does realize the gravity of the situation through the thread and make amends, before things go out of hand. Surely, considering the amount of effort I have invested and the passion that I have the product, and the amount it has helped me in improving my life ( I document my life in a Blog that tells individuals with ADHD how to benefit from Evernote) is priceless. What i see are the major issues here. I think, over the last year, MS One Note has emerged the greatest threat, here. On Volume, Evernote can simply not compete with One Note. I think, even Evernote's Premium service cannot compete with the storage facility or the user experience that Microsoft produces in its software suite of products ( in most cases, atleast), unlike Evernote, where a lot of times in Evernote, the experience is buggy, tends to freeze, or is very slow. For me, the Android Versions and IOS Versions are much better now, but I am still not happy with the Windows Experience. The fact that MS is looking to develop strongly cross platform might also be of interest, after Satya Nadella took over. Another issue that I personally think happened that has made the company lose focus on its core goal was bringing in the Evernote Market. I mean Evernote is a tech company. I can understand them trying to see Jot Pens or Post It Notes that have Evernote Software integration, but what does it have to do with selling bags and shoes? Where they trying to diversify Evernote into a pop brand across various product lines like Nike or Reebok, when their primary business was itself still not on firm ground? Did the then numbers, growth and potential lack of competition to Evernote's core business simply make the top management 'over confident'? The focus and effort that went into the market, in my opinion should have been here on the software suite of products. The third and most important thing here is the total opaqueness in which the system works here. Common, I am putting my life's work here, just as the way you do your advertising. Surely, I have a right to know, in what direction we are going, because the longer I use your product, the less likely, I will be able to come out of it. You know it, too. But when users ask for important information, we even have responses like "Evernote does not tell its futre plans" or something to taht effect. Someone even replied that telling out their plans could become benefitting for a competitor. So, despite thousands of questions on this forum, as to whether 2 Factor is coming or not.. People had no idea.. Finally, Evernote got hacked. It became news, all over. And then EN scampered around, and within a couple of months had built the 2 Fac infrastruture. My point is, that EN should have told users officially that 2 Fac was coming. ( or not coming in the near future) . This would have helped users take a conscious decision, whether they would like to continue in the product, and I think it is a fair enough question that needs to be answered. This is just one small example, here. I hope Phil Libin does take things seriously this time. Apology Letters may not necessarily work, the next time, around.
  10. One positive i got from this thread is to know that technically, there could be a private cloud possibility. Always a concern when you use public clouds like Evernote. Hope this device is a success for it will raise the bar for Evernote to compete, and address more people issues and not take them for granted.
  11. I think it is alt+cntrl + h , but I think holding those three keys can be quite cumbersome. Rather select and click the highlighter icon using the mouse. Evernote should provide the option to customize keyboard shortcuts.
  12. For those unfamiliar with "codes" and "scripts" like me , you can use this alternative method. Choose your Evernote Database folder, which can be seen from Tools-> Options -> Open Database folder. Map the directory path to an automated, backup Software, and periodically run the software and back up your database to an external hard disk.
  13. Although I have not tested this, but in theory this should work. Go to IFTTT, and authenticate both your Evernote and wordpress accounts. I think that at this time, the only trigger for Evernote in IFTTT is a "copy public link " function . Enable this trigger, so that every time you create a public Evernote link, this will be automatic posted to wordpress.
  14. This is definitely a feature that is required. How much a user would pay for it, depends on how ferrequently, he comes across conflicts that ought to be resolved. Ideally, i think after a few trial versions, a one time payment of 1-2 dollars from the app store would be acceptable for me, and that too, based on how well, the app manages to resolve the conflict. Definitely, not a recurring fee.
  15. As it happens, not one of the evangelists claims that Evernote "can do no wrong", but since we have no real power to change anything and don't really know much more about Evernote's internal goals than any other user, we find it's usually more realistic to deal with the way that Evernote exists currently and offer workarounds. If that comes off as defending the company overmuch to you, so be it. *shrug* Of course, if you want to help out the community, you're welcome to teach by example; I can tell you that the condition of evangelitis is pretty much self-inflicted. :D
  16. Rather than a lot of the third party developers, who create apps , most of which are already there in the stock evernote app ( Like A HTC phone that advertises saying that any information will be syncd to evernote, it doesnt take rocket science to install EN from the google play store and sync it through the default app, so what's so special about this phone, me wonders? ), the 3rd party developers need to develop functionalities lke this which are not present in EN.
  17. Well, i didn't mean to be rude or something, but anyways, I am sorry. Since you told me that comparison via external tool is feasible, i will give you a test case of 2 notes, that i had to compare once, that literally made me tear my hair off. The note was a note of bullet points, essentially, sprinkled with color differences in highlights, font changes and strike throughs. Just export both the notes in ( all 4 possible export options in Evenote ) and compared using Beyondcompare, and i literally went mad. You can try it for yourself.
  18. I obviously think that it is stupid, for the simple reason, that Evernote advertises its product as an organizer and productivity enhancing tool, which essentially means that Evernote is a time saver, and avoids redundancy in work. The lack of an logical extension of a feature , hence forcing a user to look for an external resource, is an obvious waste of time, and am sure many would agree with that. If you've had no more than 3 in four years, then good for you. There are people out there, who have slow net connections ( even dial up/GPRS connections that take 5+ minutes to load a webpage at times when they are on the move) , or no net connections, all the time. { Please don't get started up with saying that Evernote is not designed to work for people who have dial up or no connections most of the time } Note conflicts form a major portion of their Evernote daily life, and one has to be extra cautious ( means invest more time ) to ensure that they don't delete a note , therby losing precious data. When i complement Evernote for being a wonderful software and acknowledge that it is an integral portion of my life, then i guess that i have the same rights to criticize and crib it at times for pissing me off, thanks to thier shortcomings, which would only have been logical extensions to thier existing features. I believe that it is one way, people would respond to my posts, and people at Evernote will have a look at their shortcomings.
  19. The purpose of coming to Evenote is to bring all information that you read across various places in the web, save and concentrate content to a single organizing and archiving center. If Evenote has been around for so long and has versioning of notes, then the obvious logical step would be to have an integrated version comparing system within its own framework. Exporting notes out of Evernote to make a comparison is nothing but plain stupid and i must say that for the lack of this feature, i simply have to give EN a thumbs down.
  20. Hi, I have been using evernote for quite a while and am mighty impressed with this software, that i have gone premium and enjoying the extended services for over a month. Evernote has helped me organize my thoughts together and put them all in one place. I however, wish one feature was implemented. When users go through their posts in the desktop application, they can individually choose the mouse to highlight the text based on what ever colour they wish. I think using the mouse consumes lot of time : Most of the highlighted text would be normally chosen and highlighted in a default colour. Users should choose the mouse to pick a default colour. As users read through their posts, once they select the text using the mouse, should be able to use keyboard shortcut to highlight the text in non mouse hand. ( e.g (ctrl+ for bold can be done in one hand itself and not (ctrl +alt + h), which uses both hands like in evernote clearly). I wish to know if such a feature exists already, or if not, please forward to developers to consider developing this feature in subsequent versions.
