  1. All that's needed is you backup data.....if ENSPOONS is good.....great If not then they will loose their customer base as we all go elsewhere. I have a google alert set up for "evernote alternative with OCR" just incase 🧠
  2. I don't think this will happen. Going back 10 years for example the ability to sort manually was also requested and ignored. Maybe a support ticket requesting it?
  3. So issued resolved by EN support as follows: "On the backend I noticed the way we package your notes for syncing and sharing hadn't updated in a while. Typically this updates automatically but sometimes it can get hung up. I have went ahead and updated this manually for you. In order for this to fully take effect, I am going to recommend you do the following." Then basically told to log out of EN on IOS device uninstall then re install and log in= fixed. No idea what actually was wrong or why it happens. If in doubt submit a support ticket......
  4. Thanks I have submitted a ticket- I will share response.
  5. I am having same problem a task from months ago is appearing in list on IOS devices- not MAC. Task is flagged as overdue and greyed out can not be deleted. I have tried logging out uninstalling re installing no effect. Anyone else had any resolutions via support tickets from evernote? Failing that I will submit another ticket. Thanks
  6. If we are playing that game my first computer was a Sinclair zx80.......in 1980...data was back up onto tapes....= better back up your data before armageddon happens and look for an alternative ......oh wait there isn't an alternative that has the search capabilities and the longevity of EN available at the moment.
  7. Filterize used to do this for 10 usd a month not sure if it works with EN10 or in subject of Email using general email address Subject @exactnameofnotebook #requiredtag
  8. My renewal is due in a a year I'm same as others monitor EN and monitor alternatives.
  9. Thanks for that saved me a lot of time researching that. I have 12 months of EN paid remaining a lot can happen in 12 months if the new owners start playing games with subscription models no doubt there will be a viable alternative.
  10. Care to share which apps? I think we all need to consider a "plan B" just in case.
  11. Maybe...just maybe some at Bending spoons are Evernote users and the change of ownership may result in the new owners listening to customers- rather than telling them what they think they want. I renewed for a year a week ago - I now regret that- I wish I had gone for a monthly subscription. But there are no viable alternatives IMHO. I will monitor developments. Where will data be stored?
  12. Actually I have just moved over to Obsidian for long form writing. Utilising the outline plugin you can write long prose in one document and use headers ie ### to split the document up and move sections easily with the outliner. That combined with Tags and searches fulfils my needs without paying 39.99 a year. I use drafts to send any ideas or writing directly into this document from phone.
  13. After trying every alternative I could find I have stuck with evernote for three main reasons. 1. Longevity- I will not use a tool for critical work thats only just been developed by a one man band. 2. Evernote search WITHIN Pdfs and images. I often take notes in a paper note book because it's all I have at hand then photograph and send to evernote= searchable. Correct me if I am wrong but nothing else does these two things. 3. The web clipper. The " we know better" approach from EN management is often at times infuriating, despite their claims, they do not listen to paying customers however you have to pick your fights and if for example I can't write Longform in EN because it will not allow manual sorting of notes within a notebook I simply use Drafts and Ulysses. With this approach I find I actually get work done rather than "testing" alternatives.
  14. My mistake/lack of clarity manual sorting of notes WITHIN a note book was repeatedly requested ( to enable Ulysses to be replaced by Evernote) but was never made available.
  15. Manual sorting of notes within note books has been requested and ignored for over 10 years. I would assume it will never be forthcoming. renaming notes numerically i.e chapters in a book or scenes is the only way.
  16. I had exactly the same problem recently log out ...un install then download latest version from En website. The Apple Store version does not play well these days.
  17. From bitter experience the issue is not really how long it takes to generate a note I would suggest but how long it takes for the note to synch across all devices. With EN it takes a second or two A few months ago I experimented with Apple notes- transferred 500 notes over from Evernote. 2 weeks later despite trying EVERYTHING including re installing iOS etc some notes STILL had not synched with other devices. This has been widely reported across several forums for over a year. Reminders and calendar do not have same issue but IMHO Apple notes is not reliable and EN IS. I can't speak for other apps. I have 3000 notes in evernote and if I am going to use another app it has to have proved itself, have history and not require constant tweaking to use.
  18. @PinkElephant May I ask why Things 3 vs Apple reminders? Just curious.
  19. After trying evernote tasks as my task manager for a few months I have stopped using the function as I believe it has not yet fully matured and I can not easily and quickly move tasks around using a calendar based interface. My current set up on MAC is as follows: 1. Download FREE version of Fantastical- create an account so that data is shared across devices. No need to pay. 2. Enable Apple reminders within Fantastical 3. For each task create a Reminder in reminders app and insert a Evernote link to a note in the NOTES field. This allows me to click within a reminder and go to the relevant note within Evernote. 4. I can then drag tasks around a calendar within Fantastical and change the relevant date. Doing so also changes the date within the reminder. The nature of the work am involved in consists of sales enquiries /offers/acceptance agreements etc all of theses go into the Note. As a project progress I need a quick and easy way to drag reminders ( tasks) around constantly. The above system is an easy way of achieving this on Apple devices. Can't comment regarding PCs etc. It is how I would have liked Evernote tasks to work but at present it is not available - hence the above "fix". Happy to hear of alternative approaches using ONLY evernote if they exist.
