  1. Mmmm you can lead a horse ( or a donkey?) to water but you cant make it drink......people have tried to help - your problem......
  2. Let me explain somethings: You don't get to define a light user- the expression you fail to understand is PAYING CUSTOMER-PREMIUM. How I use it is none of your business. You don't get to decide if I have a complaint. That is my prerogative- as a paying customer trying to nurse a system along with software that has been cobbled by BS I have a right to complain when it is broken. As a "Power User" with "thousands of notes and notebooks" perhaps you should learn how to use EN and have considered the very real prospect of having to make backups- several suggestions have been made on the forum. I am not remotely interested in what you think I should do- unless you are part of the Bending Spoons team? Clear?
  3. I have my notes (around 3000) spread over only a few notebooks and rely on tags so for me it is easy to simply right click and export notebook
  4. This feeling of frustration arises because of Bending Spoons' somewhat unprofessional approach in releasing versions that haven't been properly tested. On top of that, there's the noticeable oversight regarding the price increases, which is like ignoring the obvious. Whether we like it or not, some individuals might find it hard to stay composed in such situations. It would be really helpful if Bending Spoons could be openly discussed on social media platforms. Doing so might catch their attention and encourage them to take action. In the meantime, it's important to remember that people have choices. If things don't improve, they might decide to move on and explore other options. As for those who are really invested in En, or who have structured their businesses around it, they could feel somewhat stuck. They might decide to stick around, hoping for improvements and positive changes. Personally I watch and wait but I think the days of EN as we know it are numbered and I have no faith in the platform anymore. ................and I don't suppose BS could care less......
  5. Correct As a result of the Bending Spoons fiasco my trust in EN is gone but I don't trust google either and still use them.So at moment I am still here. Main concerns now are 1 Reliability= I back up enex files every day- just incase. Destinations Bear and Obsidian 2 Cost= BS obviously have no morals whatsover and increase price for broken beta versions that often fail without any qualms whatsever- they are no different to any other internet marketing companies so I will monitor. If I can achieve same things with alternatives I will leave.
  6. Well another option do away with support for free users...provide help pages only. I suspect thy are inundated with basic question about app. Then again what do i i care? If it saves/synchs /loads on all devices and greedy insulting price increase is revised then they MIGHT have a future.
  7. Assuming they did their maths before buying there can be no justification for almost doubling fees and supplying an inferior broken product. What they should do is do away with free accounts- they must be a drain on resources/servers etc. Maybe make accounts free for a month. @Dave-in-Decatur summed it up "rage and sense of betrayal" = Exactly.
  8. The trust has gone- and they are greedy for profits.......then again I don't trust microsoft or google.
  9. BearNotes and Apple Notes both offer the capability to search within PDFs and other types of documents, similar to Evernote. However, in comparison to Evernote, their organizational structure is less robust. Additionally, BearNotes and Apple Notes' web clippers are relatively basic in functionality. After evaluating numerous alternative solutions, it appears that there is a scarcity of options (with the potential exception of DevonThink) that replicate the functionality that Evernote used to provide. At present, I am adopting a wait-and-see approach, hoping to avoid any further data losses. Depending on associated costs, I am inclined to continue using Evernote. Nevertheless, I find myself in a constricted position, harboring reservations about the software's reliability. The updates released by the company seem inadequately tested, leading to significant issues. It appears that the company may have taken on more than it can effectively manage, resulting in a situation where they are still finding their footing. Given this context, it is incredible that they have opted to raise prices for software that is currently unreliable.
  10. Maybe you would if you had lost content/data/functionality? I concur, having used EN on and off for over 10 years I cannot find anything that does EVERYTHING is WAS capable of. As far as I can see EN appear to have fixed EN and it now "works".so I am still here but the trust has gone so Lesson learned. 1.Retain previous version of install file- before upgrading to all singing all dancing latest version of Evernote - it is obvious they have no idea of testing or quality control ( maybe a lack of familiarity with EN code) so don't assume they will have tested anything. 2. Generate an backup of EN data daily or face consequences when system fails again. ( Bear2 imports enex files and is workable- but no replacement for EN)
  11. If you have time would you mind explaining what's meant by: 🛠 - all: reminderTime:* -reminderDoneTime:* tag:>* Please. This is really useful and if EN stabilises , in the absence of EN improving tasks, this is good working fix
  12. They need to : Admit last update was a disaster. Explain how a broken "update" passed their QA ( as in Quality assurance as in they can't have a system) Roll back last last update and provide a version that DID work. Roll back 40% fees increase - a company that thinks it is ok to break a product then up it's price is deluded. As @PinkElephant said "What the heck is going on ?!"
  13. As a grass roots EN longterm PAYING customer I'm not really interested in his views. He should come on here, admit EN is broken and tell us IF or WHEN it will be fixed. Then reverse renewal fee increases for existing customers-. 60% of something is better than 100% of nothing- which is exactly what he and BS will be left with if they continue with this amateur unprofessional approach. Many CUSTOMERS are watching and waiting- nobody is going to risk data by relying on software that is now broken- it is awaiting game- and people will only wait for so long.
  14. Interesting point- his business appears to be built to large extent on EN so he is hardly likely to be running around saying EN is doomed.... Other Gurus have either gone quite or are spreading their interests to "investigating" other packages. BS can tell people whatever they like. The proof will be in the pudding. Fix the mess they created or fade away.
  15. OK Noted. If all else fails Bear2 imports ENEX files and makes all attachments searchable so I have a plan B if required. What I am NOT doing is jumping out of frying pan and into fire.
  16. My situation: I have 91 days left to run before a renewal is due. I have checked out nearly EVERY alternative and none provide functions EN DID before it broke. I'll continue to use and monitor. Generate a ENEX back up daily ( takes a few minutes) If EN fix issues OK ELSE Notejoy is looking like best alternative. Regarding Bending Spoons I suspect they bit off more than they can chew. I have no issue with them moving operation to Italy to some extent that is a positive thing. However their customer service/lack of knowledge is deplorable. The price increase for a broken system is moronic and I will not pay again in November if it is not fixed.Who would? Further discussions are a waste of time- they do not listen so ball is now in their court. Fix it or face ruin.
  17. Core? Months? When can we expect a version of Evernote that actually works?
  18. Nothing unfair about it. If they had spent 10 minutes reading this forum before buying they would have realised EN was a disaster waiting to happen. Bending spoons are responsible for the current fiasco. Their response has been to churn out some half baked "updates" with new facilities nobody asked for rather than stabilising the current product AND put price up by 40%. The best advice at moment seems to be download your data asap and take cover.......
  19. OK let's take a step back. EN release a version which is useless and broken- who know why. Their so called management seem to be frequenting here. So 1. Roll back last update 2. Dedicated a so called manager to take ownership of this and read all the issues documented on this forum. 3. Provide a WORKING version of EN. or Haemorrhage PAYING customers over next few weeks/months and be left with a small number of diehard users and acolytes with thousands of free users.......paying customers expect a service and will vote with their feet. There are currently viable alternatives Obsidian using import plugin Bear2 Nimbus notes. Evernote you are on thin ice......
