  1. Emoji support is higher on the list unfortunately. Just put some smiley faces in your notes around the big gray borders. That will take your mind off of it. When emoji support is fully baked, I expect sprinkles and animated GIF support will come next. Then they will maybe get back to things that would help with platform parity.
  2. This often requested, but doesn't exist. The main reason is, the PIN would provide NO security. On a mobile device like iOS, if you cannot get into Evernote past the PIN, your data is locked and unobtainable. So it works. On the PC or Mac, your database is in plain text on your hard drive, so if they launched Evernote and got the PIN code, they could just navigate to the database and get your information there via a text editor. If you don't want them in your app, log out of Evernote when you are done. If you want to protect your data from thieves, then lock your computer when away, and encrypt your hard drive. But if you leave your login profile open and walk away from your PC, even if you have logged out of Evernote, your DB is still there, in plain text (your profile has decrypted access to your data on an encrypted HD) for the taking.
  3. I hope so. Because we are getting zero feedback in the forums.
  4. You posted this in the Windows forum, but list a mac version. Which is it?

  6. I assume that was an uninstall, wipe the database, and start over with a fresh download? Might consider that.... When was 6.5 released? How far back is that from 6.12 today? Besides emoji support, what will I lose?
  7. Yup. too much rush get new g-whiz features in it and not enough on stability. My situation right now is our company has standardized on Office 365, so we are a OneNote shop for business. I personally have a TON TON TON of stuff in Evernote though, but I can see in the medium term leaving it all there, as it never goes away, dropping to the free plan, and putting stuff in OneNote personally going forward. I haven't decided. It isn't what I want to do though. I like the concept of Evernote much better than OneNote, but OneNote is rock solid stable. I can type in there for hours with no pauses, stutters, lockups, and there are no noticeable bugs I am aware of. I am sure there are bugs - there are in every software out there, but Evernote's bug level is that of an alpha product honestly, worse than most beta's I participate in, whereas OneNote's bug level is that of a polished and carefully released product Oh, and I am actually using OneNote in a "beta" ring with Microsoft, so actually, OneNote's beta is what I consider rock solid stable. I am sure the deferred channel is even better.
  8. Part of the issue is the new crop of Windows on ARM machines. Those will only run 32bit apps if they are based on the x86 chips. So even if Evernote made a 64 bit version, it would need to maintain the 32bit platform as well. If WoA is not successful, then it won't matter, but if it is, or at least successful enough to want customers on it, EN should stick with 32bit for a while to see how that shakes out.
  9. Evernote's problem isn't 64bit vs 32bit. 64bit will only help in RAM needs above 3GB per process. Evernote takes very little RAM. Mine says 56MB right now. The performance issue is the database, which is on the hard drive, not RAM.
  10. More people voted for this than voted for emoji support.
  11. Known issue, and still happening often. and no one can tell me that the emoji rendering engine isn't playing a part in this. but, we have emojis!!!!!
  12. You can try. Press CTRL then the Help menu and a lot of new options show up. Some of the first options might help, and they might not depending on what the really issue is with your notes.
  13. To get this to work as you want, I think you will need to uninstall, delete your Evernote database, then reinstall, and as soon as you log in, to to Tools|Options|Sync and enable Sync on demand. If you enable it without doing this, your data will remain on your work PC until the sync-on-demand days threshold is met before it is purged locally.
  14. Or, just use the web client at work. Nothing is saved anywhere. I too would like a selective notebook sync, but there are at least two-three viable workarounds that make it managable to have access to your personal Evernote data at work without all of your data being on the work machine.
  15. Just enable Sync on Demand and don't go into those notebooks on your work PC that you don't want downloaded. It only downloads the metadata (title, creation/edit date, tags, etc) but not note content until you click on it.
  16. I edited the note in the web app and it finally showed the PDF on the desktop, but when I navigated away and back to the note, it showed the gray line again. Opening the note in a new window caused the PDF to show up, closing it then showed it inline. Navigated away again and back and got the gray line. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  17. I am still having an issue. Took a pic via Scannable on my iPhone Sent to Evernote Note sync'd to PC, but only the title, and a horizonal rule. The PDF was gone. Went back into iOS and edited the note title. The PDF is there. Came back to Windows and the note title was edited, but just have the horizonal rule. Still no PDF.
  18. Will check tonight. That wasn't there 3-4 hrs ago. Must have just been released.
  19. super frustrating. You can force it to show up by editing it on iOS, Android, or the web, or Mac, or a different Windows PC. Just add/delete a space and it will force it to resync and show up. You SHOULD NOT HAVE TO RESORT TO SUCH SHENANIGANS, but at least it will be available for use.
  20. Rats. I've already upvoted this. Cannot upvote again. :-(
  21. Yup. I reported this in the most recent beta thread. No response, or fix....
  22. Yup. Noticed UBlock Origin caused the same thing. I whitelisted the Evernote site after that. They don't hit you with ads and are running a lot of complex scripts and code on that page to make it work.
