  1. Just my opinion, but an export to anything other than ENEX (which is already baked into Evernote) is hardly a 'backup' since it can't be imported back to replace the original note. It's just another copy of the database in another format. Your choice, but if the Apocalypse ever happens I'd bet there will be multiple options to export your database / import to another app at the time...
  2. Are you not still 'in' Safari when clicking on the Clipper options? - Regardless we're pretty much outside my experience now; unless there's another business user around who knows what's supposed to happen at that point, I'd suggest connecting with Support. When you get a response please let us know!
  3. Hi. This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum. Although Evernote staffers do read the posts here, and there are Admins to keep everyone in line, there's no guarantee when that will be. If you need help on a technical issue, we can offer advice from our collective experience but Evernote support is available (for subscribers) via the website link, and (for everyone) on Twitter @EvernoteHelps or via their Facebook community. Syncing is generally a local issue - these tips may help: How to troubleshoot syncing issues
  4. Hi. This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum which runs on third party software that includes the net nanny. While I sympathise with the annoyance that the emoji causes, there are several work-arounds, from using another word processor to draft content and attaching the output file to an Evernote note, to simply hitting Ctrl-Z or using a code block. Evernote are (they say) in process of completely re-coding all of their apps for all operating systems (See the Evernote Blog), so they may have already included some upgrades. But they don't preview details, so we'll probably have to wait until the new versions hit the streets to see what new features exist.
  5. ...As a matter of interest, which text collapse apps work this way? Sounds more like mind-mapping, which Evernote doesn't include - and in any event seems to me this requires a major rewrite of a core feature of something that's in daily use 24/7 by hundreds of thousands of people...
  6. Workflowy works for me... and it's capable of a whole lot more!
  7. Hmmn. I got one of those... If I click the link I get a new window popping up to log into Evernote - if you;re not seeing that do you have a pop-up blocker? Or - what happens when you complete the dialogue and try top log in?
  8. Looks like a feature - I'm on 6.25.1 and this still applies. Maybe raise it with support so they can add it to their 'to do' list. Haven't tried for work-arounds but maybe build the table in a word processor and copy/ paste across, or just eyeball the columns...
  9. Hi. Try the front page of this Forum... https://discussion.evernote.com/
  10. Wow - 3 updates in 5 days. Getting a little giddy here folks... My last version (yesterday!!) was 309084 (I think) I appreciate the attention to detail, but anyone going to come up with some additional release comments?
  11. Hi. What can you see? Any chance of a screenshot? A PDF file should show as an icon - clicking / tapping the icon should download it to view.
  12. Hi. Click into a note and you're already in 'pen' mode. Mobile devices have that extra step of clicking a pen to avoid accidental editing just by viewing a note. Desktops don't need the extra security. Just start typing.
  13. Hi. You're still showing here as a Basic user, so your upgrade apparently didn't take (yet). Have you tried logging in on a desktop machine to Evernote.com to check your status? Can you confirm when and how you ordered the upgrade?
  14. Hi. No clue. This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum. Although Evernote staffers do read the posts here, and there are Admins to keep everyone in line, there's no guarantee when that will be. 15. Hi. If you can copy and paste the paragraphs / pages you want, then just start a new note and paste away - but the chances are that isn't going to work. Plan B would be to download and edit the content to extract individual pages as separate files, then save them to one or more Evernote notes. Evernote isn't an add-on for a PDF editor, just a place you can store files, or bits of files for future analysis or reference...
  16. Hi. No clue as to why the default should be missing - can you see other notes? You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the app - not sure how 'latest Android version'-compatible the Kindles are these days, and Kindles are most definitely not (AFAIK) supported; but as a subscriber you could try reporting this to Support...
  17. Hi. Hope you voted at the top left of the page. 'Undo' (I'd imagine its already been said somewhere...) is whatever the host OS says it should be. In iOS I understand, it's "shake hard". In Windows, it's Ctrl+Z.
  18. Hi. Zero experience with Evernote Business here (he said happily) though I played with it for about a day before deciding that standard Premium did fine for me... but the Web Clipper isn't 'part' of Business, it's a stand-alone add-in to the browser that I have occasionally had to log out of and then back in again to get my clips going to the right account (I have a couple). Clipping an item shouldn't then mean that you'll open the app at that exact point - it just means the content has been saved to a designated notebook in a particular account. You have to navigate there independently to actually see the note. (Although there is a 'view note in Evernote' button when Clipper finished the clip, which usually opens the web version of the note, not the desktop application.) Additionally in Clipper Options, there's a choice to have the clipped note open automatically once the clip is complete. There's a lot to deal with if you're not familiar with the process - you might want to reach out to Evernote Support and share your issues with them... There is some help online too - Evernote Business Quick Start Guide / How to work with separate personal and business views
  19. Hmmn. What did you copy that from? A web page or an app screen shot? Looks like if you could copy/ paste the content as text rather than an image, things would be OK...
  20. Hi. This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum. Although Evernote staffers do read the posts here, and there are Admins to keep everyone in line, there's no guarantee when that will be. 21. I think the response is correct - subfolders aren't absolutely necessary for everyone - I manage 50,000+ notes happily within this current system. But some users clearly feel that they're essential to their particular workflow, which is perfectly reasonable - except that Evernote never has had subfolders and has never suggested that subfolders will be available in future. It's fair enough to request that a new feature be added, but whether or when that gets done is up to the company. It's entirely their choice. As to lecturing users, Evernote -as is their normal position- has never made any comment about whether subfolders are good or bad, other than for one of their employees to point out that the design structure of the base database prevents them from adding a hierarchy in the same format as a tag hierarchy. Evernote currently service a community of users something like twice the population of Mexico spread around the world. Changing the structure of a database in daily use by so many would be like changing the tyres on one race car while it's fully committed to overtaking another. Ironically Evernote are (they say) in process of completely re-coding all of their apps for all operating systems (See the Evernote Blog), so they may have already included some feature upgrades. But they don't preview details, so we'll probably have to wait until the new versions hit the streets to see what new features exist. ...And while new players in this market with way fewer users can react to individual comments, Evernote simply have too many users to respond individually - hence this forum.
  22. So I moved this from the Evernote Business forum to the Android forum. Mobile devices don't typically have any notes stored locally - for reasons of the limited space usually available, any time a note is created or edited away from a network connection the content automatically syncs back to the Evernote servers where the main copies are kept. Evernote Web is the server version of your notes, which should be complete. It's almost impossible to 'lose' notes in the way that you have unless something is very wrong with the device. If your missing notes are important it may be worth upgrading to premium for a month to get access to email support - or you could try connecting via Twitter and @EvernoteHelps (This is a -mainly- user-supported Forum. Although Evernote staffers do read the posts here, and there are Admins to keep everyone in line, there's no guarantee when that will be. If you need help on a technical issue, we can offer advice from our collective experience but Evernote support is available (for subscribers) via the website link, and (for everyone) on Twitter @EvernoteHelps or via their Facebook community.)
  23. Hi. Has your daughter also assigned her Evernote account to you? If she wishes to continue using that account, you'd be better off creating your own new account with your credentials.
  24. Hmmn. So this time I got a pop-up that another new version 6.25.1 was available, and clicked on that. No warnings, no messages, no progress bar... This time everything went away for a few minutes before the new new version loaded...
  25. Hi - blame Google translate for the english text! If you're using the new web version, see this option in the Notebooks window to move a new notebook to a stack...
