  1. Just to note - I deleted a previous post here because - entirely by mistake I'm sure - the user had included a link to another unrelated website. And most of it was generated by AI. I hate that.
  2. It's unknown how Evernote makes its count of the number of devices connected to the account - sometimes one device can be counted as connected more than once, and the web access also counts as a 'device' in this context. Once you have passed the limit though, you only have two 'disconnect' attempts per month before the account is locked. Once that happens, the only choices are to wait out the month, or to subscribe - possibly paying (if you can) on a monthly basis, and downgrading the account again after one month. Some of the causes of login issues are described here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/sections/27876180170003-Login - and at the bottom of that page there's a 'submit a request' link. I'd suggest you use that (also if you can) to raise your issue with Evernote -again. There used to be a 'guest' option to get past any login requirement, but that also has changed; and free users (AFAIK) may not have access to Support here. If that's the case you only options are to wait out the lock, or to subscribe again, however briefly. Sorry we can't be more help, but as you know we're only other users here...
  3. Not quite - I wondered whether you might have Windows 10 or 11. As to Evernote - have you considered uninstalling the version you have now using Revo Uninstaller Free (which removes leftover files that Windows Uninstall doesn't touch) and downloading a new installer from Evernote.com?
  4. Seems pretty self-contained, at least they're aware of the issue.
  5. Wow - I step away from the screen for a few hours and the discussion gets really spicy. Can I remind everyone that we're supposed to be restricting comments to dealing with technical issues and not trolling each other? Please stick to facts in replies rather than unwanted opinions, and if you get trolled by one or more users - please don't troll back. Just walk away.
  6. Have you noticed the "@" feature which easily allows you to link to recent notes?
  7. Happy to help. Poking has been delivered - can't promise it will help, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  8. There's a famous saying: "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch". Meaning that if you're offered something for free it is with the intention that if you like it, you'll upgrade to a subscription. Either that or the provider has found some other way of making money from your presence like selling your email address. Which Evernote do not. It's... unrealistic... to expect that a company will fund something completely for free out of the goodness of its heart. Since too many people used the 'free' service far longer and to a far greater extent than even the company expected, restrictions were bought in too (hopefully) make it clear that it was a trial service only - intended only to allow users to try out features briefly before subscribing. Sorry if that's inconvenient, but if you wish to have full use of the service, just subscribe.
  9. Almost as though Evernote changed the way it interacted with the rest of the internet - oh wait... And yes - I'd bet that all the links your showing as inaccessible from Evernote have had some feedback from their own users, and may have identified why they won't (or can't) accept links from Evernote. But they have no special duty to share the information (if they have it) directly with Evernote. But if a customer using DayOne and Evernote forinstance were to ask nicely they might get some information that would help Evernote find out why things don't work and fix it. At the very least if you have a failed connection please send the links to Evernote if you have a ticket open, open one if you don't. The more (and more helpful) feedback Evernote gets, the sooner you are likely to get things fixed.
  10. Better to use an encrypted file attachment (PDF / DOCX etc) and add an 'executive summary' of what the file is about for searches. (A file name may not contain enough information to allow you to find it again easily.)
  11. VueScan is a computer program for image scanning, especially of photographs, including negatives. It supports optical character recognition of text documents. The software can be downloaded and used free of charge, but adds a watermark on scans until a license is purchased. Wikipedia
  12. Hi. No clue, but the answer may be somewhere here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500009437482-Google-and-Outlook-Calendar-integration-overview If not, please use the "submit a request" button at the bottom for more...
  13. Not exactly - while it does work from other apps, we don't know why links from Evernote would be different. Talking to the support team there might be useful, it might not - but it will help to eliminate one possibility.
  14. Yeah, the Feedback address is just for that, and probably gets several thousand hits a day. Scroll to the bottom of this page - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209129047-Organize-set-reminders and submit a request from there. That will actually get you onto the Support queue, and hopefully some quicker response...
  15. Since that link is going to a specific entry, I assume you have to be logged in to Things to see it. Maybe the way Evernote tries to open the link is different from the other apps where the connection works. Have you tried talking to their Support? They may not be able to help, but you'll get a faster response than from ours...
  16. If you've been emailing Support you presumably have some reference you've been quoting? If so and you can quote it here, I'll happily flag it for an Admin to take a look at.
  17. OK I'll caveat my previous reply with: links from a browser based app will fail because of browser security - there's a limit on how much interaction is allowed by internet-based apps with local computers. However installed versions of Evernote (or any other note-taker) should have no trouble linking to websites or local applications. I have an Evernote link to open Calibre and Freeplane on my desktop which works fine.
  18. Given that too many enquiries was what overwhelmed the department in the first place I'm not sure that spamming the staff is going to improve your chances of getting a reply. Each incoming mail has to be matched with all the previous mails and then, very carefully, the whole thing may get placed at the start of the queue again. (That's what we used to do in the department I ran anyway...)
  19. I hate to disappoint, but I have several dozen links from Evernote to other apps with individual 'dashboards' for various tasks. They all work fine, and in Evernote Settings there's now an option to open external files and applications. I can't imagine why you're having issues though - have you tried setting up a new link in a new note? If you want more coherent suggestions, please confirm your device and OS/ Evernote version numbers. If you have a link you're willing to share that won't open from Evernote for you, that would be useful too.
  20. Hmmn. Evernote is doing more to the backend as we speak (see below), so they may have inadvertently broken your connection again - do you get any references or ticket numbers from the emails you've received? I can flag your post for a Forum Admin (an employee) to poke Support for you... -From https://evernote.com/blog/20-improvements-jan-march-2024 - 🔄 RENT (metadata sync): RENT is a counterpart to last year's collaborative editing initiative. While collaborative editing focuses on instantly syncing note content across multiple devices, RENT handles note metadata syncing. With RENT, you'll see changes to note titles, thumbnails, dates, and note list content reflected across all your devices faster than ever before.
  21. Tasks are added to notes by using the "+" or "/" feature, or can be stand-alone tasks created with one click like a new note. If not applied to a specific note, all tasks are grouped in one default "To do" note. The Tasks option in the sidebar will show you all tasks whether or not connect to a note, and can be sorted by various options including due date. If that's not acceptable to you I'd suggest you follow the Submit a Request link at the bottom of the link I gave above - as I said, we're mainly users: you need to ta;l to Evernote direct.
  22. There are some notes on Outlook here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005997-How-to-use-Evernote-for-Outlook - including Why don't I see the option to attach Evernote notes to my email? - If you're using Outlook 2016 on Mac or Outlook for iOS or Android, you will not be able to attach Evernote notes to your email drafts. This option is only available in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the Web. For anything more you'd need to contact Support (see bottom of the linked page)
