I am able to connect to Kanbanote again. It appears Evernote has fixed this issue.

Same issue. I logged out of Evernote, but upon signing back in, I cannot access Kanbanote anymore. I get the error message: "Oops, we encountered an error"

Tags: weird behaviour
jmckimm replied to fredhammersmith's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
I am having an issue as well. When I search for a tag in the search bar, I cannot select it. Randomly, when I am able to select the tag, my search result shows all notes instead of only notes with that particular tag. I am on 10.59.5. -
DevonThink looks pretty cool. I would rather pay a one time license fee than pay an annual subscription. I got out of the Adobe $50 monthly subscription ripoff and paid a one time $299 subscription for DaVinci Resolve for editing. Well worth the switch. Can't use DevonThink though, I am on Windows. I like Windows, but have to admit Mac has some cool software.

I am not talking about the old-school instant snappiness from the native Android app years back. But there seems to be a speed / performance increase from the super slow experience I am used to. Notes load faster. I can create a note and take a photo without waiting a minute. I can navigate around notes with only a slight delay. Basically, it is usable now. And I am using an older Pixel 3a. Does anyone else see a speed improvement on the Android app?

Bending Spoons Price Increases Begin

That is a ridiculous price hike. I hope that is somehow a mistake. My renewal is in July. I was expecting a $10 per year increase. -
Bending Spoons Price Increases Begin
jmckimm replied to Paul A.'s topic in Evernote General Discussions
The Personal Upgrade price from my wife's Free plan is $79.99 USD per year. I am on the Personal Plan, and my new upgrade price to Professional is $9.17 per month = $110.04 USD per year. So they raised both plans by $10 per year. -
Evernote's "exciting news"
jmckimm replied to Dave-in-Decatur's topic in Evernote General Discussions
I am a fan of Ian Small as well as Evernote's mission of "remember everything and accomplish anything." Hopefully Ian stays around for a while. A quick look at Bending Spoon's Glassdoor employee rating suggests most people are happy to work there. I am cautiously optimistic for the future. -
Android App terribly slow
jmckimm replied to chronistin's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
I was at the Post Office today. I was handed my receipt and started up Evernote on my Android phone to take a picture of it. I got embarrassed with how long it was taking to get the photo. I pocketed the receipt and went home and scanned it there instead. With the old native app I would have been able to scan it in seconds. I know I can load the old app but then I would lost tasks, etc. Hopefully the team can speed this app up. -
I got my original workaround working again. For me, I have to disable the Snipping Tool. I went to: C:\windows\system32 and renamed it from snippingtool.exe to snippingtool.bak (I got a TrustedInstaller error and had to google how to get around this) For the clipping tool to work I have load Evernote Legacy. Then I close it and run v10. As long as I have Evernote Legacy loaded, I can use the Web Clipper. But it remains perplexing. My other installation of Win 10 and v10 Evernote works fine with the Web Clipper (and without Evernote Legacy).

I use Evernote 10 almost exclusively. I still get frustrated with missing features and slower performance, but I believe in the direction Ian and the Evernote team are taking us.

What If You Lost Your Phone and Computer? Worst-case scenario
jmckimm replied to jmckimm's topic in Organization
Yes, this does seem to make the most sense. I've been using KeePass integrated with Dropbox. It works well, but would cause a slight headache in the worst-case scenario. Bitwarden's web vault would work better in that case. -
What If You Lost Your Phone and Computer? Worst-case scenario

Thanks gazumped. This seems like an excellent idea. I have not considered Bitwarden. Their Web Vault with a long admin password that is easily remembered can be a one-point of contact solution for a worst-case scenario. Even their web copy points at this: "Stuck without any of your devices? Using a friend's computer? You can access your Bitwarden vault from any web enabled device by using our web vault." It seems like it makes sense to transfer all of my passwords from KeePass to Bitwarden. Thanks again. -
What If You Lost Your Phone and Computer? Worst-case scenario
jmckimm replied to jmckimm's topic in Organization
True. In this scenario, we're talking about a worst-case scenario. Pretend you're traveling and just lost everything. Your phone, laptop, etc. Evernote web access would require 2FA or the backup code you mentioned. How would the backup code help you if you lost everything? Unless one memorized it. In this example, perhaps the one-point of contact should be Dropbox. One could have their Evernote backup code in that. I know this is a some-what ridiculous scenario, but it could happen. I am wondering if someone has thought this through. Thus, if someone lost everything, they could simply access a computer at a library and do business as usual. What would be the optimal solution? -
What If You Lost Your Phone and Computer? Worst-case scenario
jmckimm posted a topic in Organization
I use 2 Factor Authentication plus a password manager (KeePass file in Dropbox) for most of my online services. I have encrypted my phone and laptop. I use a backup service for my files and I have two identical local backups. I feel pretty good about my setup. However, I've thought about a worst-case scenario. What would happen if I lost my phone AND laptop simultaneously (or they were stolen)? My phone is needed for 2 Factor Authentication, and thus, I would not be able to access Evernote, Dropbox, Gmail, etc., because of the long, complicated passwords from the password manager. I use Republic Wireless for my phone service, so I would need to buy a new phone, wait for it to arrive and then activate it so I could complete the 2FA process. I would be temporarily locked out of many online services. I am wondering what the best backup plan would be for a worst-case scenario? I've thought about changing my Evernote password to something strong that I can remember. I guess I would have to copy some of my main passwords over to a note and keep them updated. I've also thought of porting my cell number to Google, and thus could buy a pre-paid phone, and have my number directed there temporarily. I am wondering if anyone has thought of this. If you have 2FA enabled, and temporarily lost everything, do you have one point of access that would allow you to maintain online access as normal? -
I like to write in an Evernote note via the Windows version. The frustrating issue is that I often get missing keystrokes while typing. To demonstrate this, I have typed the same sentence below in Evernote Windows numerous times: I often get mising keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missingkeystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I often get missing keystrokes while typing. I o ten get missing keystrokes while typing. Those aren't misspellings. Those are missing keystrokes. This only happens in Evernote for Windows. It happens both when I type a note in the main interface and also when I double-click and open a note and type in that. Any ideas why this might be happening?
