  1. Hi @Wilburguy and @gustavgi, thanks for reporting this. This is definitely not expected behavior. If you're willing, I'd like to gather a few details from each of you, to see if we can better understand what is causing a degradation in performance on your iPads.

    • @Wilburguy What iPad model do you have?
    • You mention offline notebooks - are those still in the process of downloading? (Indicated by the progress bar underneath the notebook titles.) Performance could potentially slow down a bit if all notebooks are still downloading - but that should resolve itself once they are done.
    • Would you be able to provide an activity log and send it to me via DM? To access this, open the settings menu from the 'gear' icon at the top of left sidebar, then Support > Activity Log. You can email the file to yourself first and then attach it to the message.

    • @gustavgi What iPad Pro model do you have?
    • The behavior in the video is of course egregiously slow, and absolutely unexpected. Does that happen every time you try to expand a section, or is it specific to one area?
    •  Is anything else going on within the app while this is happening? For example - are you also downloading offline notebooks? Is the app still syncing notes from the service (if so, it would say 'Syncing...' next to the 'All notes' header)?
    • Could you also provide me with an activity log via private message, following the same steps as above?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hello all!

We know this has been a longstanding thread and issue with the current version of the app. We've been hard at work on our new app, which is now in beta.

While it's still a work in progress, we think that this behavior (restoring the note and position in the note when leaving the app and coming back) is much better in the new version.

If any of y'all in this thread aren't already beta testers and are willing to try it out, we'd love your feedback, especially around this area.

To do that, first sign up for the beta program here: https://evernote.com/betaprogram

Then, please DM me your email address and I can get you set up.

    Thanks!

  3. Hey all, we released Evernote for iOS version 8.8 to the App Store last night.

Update: We released 8.8.1 to the App Store to address the issue with not being able to edit existing sketches.

    8.8.1 Release Notes:

    • Hotfix for issue where existing sketches/handwritten notes could not be edited in 8.8.

    8.8 Release Notes:

    • Advanced auto-formatting options (including code block and tables!). Go to Account > Settings > Notes
    • Misc bug fixes and performance improvements:
    • Fixes for top crash and sync issues
    • Fixed an issue where lines made with Apple Pencil appear jagged
    • Fixed an issue with quoted searches not returning exact results
    • Fixed an issue with the note list briefly showing before PIN lock activates
    • Fixed an issue where PDF thumbnails would appear greyed out in the note list on iOS 10 devices

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

  4. @Punxsutawney Can you tell me what version of Evernote you're running on your iPhone/iPad?

While I've seen a few isolated cases of shortcuts disappearing or being overwritten, I haven't seen it where shortcuts are consistently being overwritten each time a new one is created.

To clarify, are you also saying that your iPhone/iPad and Windows PC are set to different time zones?

  5. Hi! While it isn't currently possible to create tables on iOS, there is a workaround that may be helpful, as @gazumped mentioned: create a blank table on desktop or web, and keep that note in your account as a template. Each time you want to 'create' a table on iOS, you can either copy and paste the blank table to a new note, or duplicate the note from the share menu at the bottom right. Note however that you won't be able to add rows or columns from an iOS device.

  6. Hi! There isn't currently a way to clip a simplified article on iOS using the Evernote clipper. However here's a good workaround, if you use Safari and are Plus or Premium: put the web page in 'Reader mode' (the 3 lines to the left of the URL), and then send it to your Evernote email address through the share menu.

Reader mode will strip all ads and extraneous content just like Simplified Article does, and this format will carry over to your note when you send it to Evernote via email. Note that reader mode is available for most pages, but not all.

  7. We do our best to read all posts, even if we can't comment on all of them. @csbc You are absolutely entitled to support, though instant chat is Premium-only. If you have any issues opening a support ticket, let me know and I'll open one for you. As for actually editing encrypted text on mobile, I can confirm that this isn't yet a feature. I'm moving this to the 'Feedback' section, to ensure that our developers see it (they are generally more active there). Also note the voting feature at the top left.
