Level 5 PinkElephant 8,796 Posted January 11 Level 5 Share Posted January 11 Regularily you can cancel and wait until your subscription ends. Then subscribe again using the discount. If you don’t want this you need to go through support. Since your status is only checked on subscribing, you can maybe gain as much at the end as you may loose at the beginning. Link to comment

I'm not 100% sure on the process or if its automatic or not. I would get a support ticket in pretty quickly but don't worry if your subscription lapses as all your notes will still be there. Maybe support will advise to let it expire and start a new one. Link to comment
Solution VincentC 345 Posted January 11 Solution Share Posted January 11 The document that Jon linked to mentions includes this sentence which implies to me that you could either a) wait until your current plan expires and reverts to free and then update to the student plan or b) transition now with the understanding that Evernote will not refund the unused balance of your existing plan. How exactly you go about that? I don't know. But I think stepping through the process described in the "how do I verify I am a student" section of the document that Jon helpfully linked to would be a good place to start. Vinnie Link to comment

Vinnie When I became a student, I also asked myself this question. I had a lot of subscriptions. But everywhere they told me, wait for the end of the previous subscription, then reconnect to a new one. Thus, I decided that it was better not to wait for anything and find biology help, I used https://edubirdie.com/biology-help for this. In general, I think that site moderators should step up to the plate. But no one wants to give the money back, everyone is very greedy. In principle, this is logical, I will pass this information on to my son. 1 Link to comment

If a subscription has already been paid, There are no refunds; but if a user can meet the verification requirements they could certainly then go to https://www.evernote.com/BillyBillingProfile.action (it's the 'Billing' page of the online account) and check out the very bottom of the page, just above "Terms of Service". 'Cancel your Evernote subscription' is there - choosing it will downgrade the account to Free. Once at that level, the user can re-subscribe as a student using the link already quoted. mackid1993 1,259
I've done this before, if I recall correctly if you are on Personal the Student Plan is 40% off Professional. It will be a prorated upgrade to Professional at 40% off. Link to comment
