The document that Jon linked to mentions includes this sentence which implies to me that you could either a) wait until your current plan expires and reverts to free and then update to the student plan or b) transition now with the understanding that Evernote will not refund the unused balance of your existing plan.
How exactly you go about that?  I don't know.  But I think stepping through the process described in the "how do I verify I am a student" section of the document that Jon helpfully linked to would be a good place to start.

  3. VincentC's post in Can't log in to Web Clipper 7.33.1 in latest Chrome, Windows 11 was marked as the answer
Just tried it in Microsoft Edge.  Clipper took a LOT longer than normal to load for the first article I tried to clip.  But eventually it did load and it completed the clip. Then, clipping a second article, it worked in a flash.

So, try being patient for the first article.  It might be related to the recent web client change Evernote announced -- but that's just a guess.

Maybe before you test how long it takes to update a new tag in v10, reboot your PC and open only Evernote v 10.  The experts here (and I'm definitely not one!) report that the new synching engine can be slowed down if Legacy and v10 are both running.  I'm suggesting rebooting first so you can be sure that there is nothing from Legacy running in the background even if you've closed Legacy on the desktop.  There are other threads on the forum about this sync issue.
Hope you can get v10 working to your satisfaction.  Although I've been an Evernote user for years and years, I only started to use it intensively over the last couple of years, so Legacy was never an essential part of my workflow.  These days, I use Evernote intensively, largely as a result of the new features that have come with v10, and I like the new platform just fine.
