Anyone else not getting any support on my tickets?

Recommended Posts

I have a massive issue with all of my notes missing for about T - 1 year. I have started a subscription 3 months ago and even as a paying customer have not had any response on any of my tickets besides just simply dodging it saying it has been sent to technical team or something - no response for months. Any advice? I'm working at support myself for 10 years and I'm quite sure I would have lost my job countless times if this happened...

Hi.  You can see the current status of your tickets and add additional comments or reminders if necessary here > https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/.  You may have been unlucky - Evernote have been especially busy over the past few months,  though I have had a couple of tickets resolved in the same period.

Welcome to the forums. We (other users here) might be able to offer a suggestion or two if you can supply more details. The usual cause of something like this is that the user has accidentally created a new, empty account by logging in to Evernote with the wrong email address or username (this is surprisingly easy to do). But if it's been a year, you would presumably have checked on this long ago.

So I am still paying for evernote subscription every month in hopes to get some help, and I don't use my account at all since its broken to the point I don't want to fiddle with it to hopefully get some help some time in the future... So basically I am paying for 6 months already for something that does not exist at the moment at all (support) and there is no ETA on when will that happen...

The issue:

I have updated the app ~6 months ago and for no reason at all, all notes are up to date only up to 11/7/22.... Same on all devices. Though I have an old phone that has not been turned on for more than 6 months and it has Evernote app installed on it. Do you think I can expect it to have my notes cached by any chance? I think it'll ask for network connection and load the same exact thing...

Do you think there is any way of getting refunded  in my case if they don't fix it for me? I have never been in such situation it makes me want to tear my hair off, I really cannot believe that a service can be so repugnantly terrible.....

Please tell us the version of the Evernote app that you are using and the operating system. Or versions of you have more than one OS affected.

Also, have you tried viewing your account through the web client? The web view is the definitive access to your data stored on the Evernote servers.

Support may be on the slow side at the moment, but they do answer.

How do you know that support would not exist ? Did you issue a ticket ?

If you want assistance from us (other users), do as @agsteele has posted: More details, please, especially subscription status, devices, clients used.

...what they said;  plus - if you had reported this 6 months ago it would likely have been fixed by now.  There must have been several updates since then - have you tried uninstalling the app / powering your device off and back on / re-downloading the latest version from Evernote.com and reinstalling?

I have tried ALL possible ways to see the data (including web, smarphone web, pc web, all the standalone apps), the wrong data comes from the servers, it synced some old notes version for whatever reason right after the update that screwed everything. I have not updated the app or anything since then, as I am waiting for an answer to tickets I have submitted long time ago, the only answers I had were that they are looking into it or passed to some technical team and then dropped the ball completely, no follow up, no response to my pings, does anyone have a URL to the ticket list? I'm quite sure they are pending for months or either closed without any resolution.

Above is the version which I don't think has updated automatically since this whole ***** up. My machine runs on win10. Is there any reason to list the devices and their evernote versions? This whole thing happened because of some faulty update and it happened on this machine when after the update the data I get from the servers are some old version of my notes as If I'd be on this date - 11/7/22.

Simple problem solution scheme:

Is the data on the cloud server ok or not ? Use the web client to check on this.
(You say NO, but it won‘t hurt to check again. Your posts here are -sorry- showing a certain level of confusion and emotional engagement, and both runs against problem solving)

If the data on the server is OK, log out, quit and then uninstall all clients. There is some extra work needed to make the uninstall stick (Use an Uninstaller app, restart the device, etc.). Then reinstall, open, log in and let your notes download.

If the data on the server is NOT OK, go to the relevant note and check Note History (behind the 3 dots). If you can go back to an earlier version, this may solve your problem. Or it doesn‘t. Note history won‘t help if a note has disappeared (check other notebooks and the trash). Without a note, note history is lost as well.

Only if all this has not solved an issue, you need support.

This was a short description. First localize the problem, maybe you need more detailed advise then.

Good luck with your search. I'm not sure I can offer anything without more detail so I'm out ...

I am ready to provide any details needed, should I name all the devices I've ever used with evernote and their versions?

Thrash - last note I see there is from 2020 when I deleted last note.
Note history looks like this on the web client:

I also can't find the open ticket list I used to have on evernote support page, is that gone now too? If anyone could guide me to it it would be nice:) The only thing I have left is unanswered emails in my inbox.

I'd like to apologize to everyone for being so emotional, I really do understand it gets in the way of problem solving.

it took 6 months and 6 monthly payments to get below answer, nice one evernote, you are the best :)

I assume you mean the opposite,  but I don't see what more you expect - 6 months ago the current owners had barely sat down at the table and they have presumably made the most of any efforts they can to get your data back.  Sometimes it's just not possible.  I'm not even going to mention the possibility that a professional business would probably have kept a separate backup of important data,  and would not have committed it to a free app in the first place.

I'm sorry for your loss,  but you need to move on somehow.  If that's not with Evernote,  then that's your choice.

I removed an unhelpful comment here.  If you're going to be negative,  please give some background at least...  and don't respond to months-old threads.-
