Saferoom - Zero-Knowledge Encryption for Evernote and more
DTLow replied to ilia5101982's topic in Evernote Integrations
Thats true, and I think its why the process is different on IOS For example, Evernote doesn't provide encryption/decryption on IOS; they provide a popup window to view encrypted text. Likewise, Saferoom has a differnt process. -
Reminders to iCal required
DTLow replied to mwlodarski's question in Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 7.14 and under)
It was a concern giving access to my calendar and Evernote, but its a requirement if they are going to update both. More holes poked into my security, and possibly my deal with the devil (no offence intended to Cronofy) Evernote seems a little more sophisticated. You can access a panel to see who has access, and revoke that access. Also, if things go south - the damage is limited to my notes. I don't see anything like that at Apple for my calendar access. Also my calendar is integrated into my Apple account. Perhaps @adambird can comment on this. -
Saferoom - Zero-Knowledge Encryption for Evernote and more

If we're talking about notes to be encrypted - you should not be working in a sync'd folder - use either a local folder or work outside Evernote. -

You might be interested in the auto sync service discussed at https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/55121-sync-reminders-with-google-calendar/?do=findComment&comment=369106 It's an announcement of the Cronofy Calendar Connection Service; a two way sync between Evernote reminders and the Calendar (iCloud, Google, +) -
Saferoom - Zero-Knowledge Encryption for Evernote and more
DTLow replied to ilia5101982's topic in Evernote Integrations
I think "zero knowledge" is a specialized term related to encryption. I was also concerned about giving access to Evernote. I just want my note text encrypted/decrypted; not this overhead. Something similar to a pdf - I don't have to grant Evernote access to have it encrypted or decrypted. -
Change color of notebooks
DTLow replied to jcheung's question in Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 7.14 and under)
Good point - I can only speak for IOS and Mac -
Can you provide more details on why you need this? For me, the title and date sorting is usually sufficient. I did find that I preferred a different layout for my daily journal. I wanted the order to be Activities .... Tasks Now: ... Tasks Soon: ☐iTunes - New Episodes Projects ... So I generate the lists in date order, then I copy the links into the above sections. I can do any further sorting by moving the links around. Beyond that - there's only two areas that allow manual sorting. Reminders and Shortcuts For example, if you have a set of notes you need in a manual order; drag them to the Shortcuts area. Other than that, I would precede the title with a number (example 00100, 00200, 00300) and sort by title. You will be able to insert new notes (example 00210)

>>Really needs read-only mode. I agree - its and odd omission - I would have expected it as a beginning point in the UI. I've seen other products requiring a click on an edit button to make changes. I up voted this request - it;s now at 1 (top left corner of the thread)

Saved search as a link in a note?
DTLow replied to KLAHRO's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Likewise, I have too many "hot notes" to list under Shortcuts. Instead, I have a tag !Hot Notes which is in my shortcuts. Its simple to add or remove notes from this list just by applying or removing the tag -
Problem with tags in shared notebooks
DTLow replied to caitkennedy's question in General Feature Requests
It works on the Mac desktop platform - My carefully hierarchy of tags is messed up with the additional tags from notebooks that have been shared with me. I like @ryanopaz's idea of "Share this notebook" with a check box option "allow tagging". This gives me the option because to be honest, usually I don't want people adding tags at random. My notebook, my tag rules. It's actually not a big issue, but I have to make sure there's a clearly defined set of tags. I usually set them all on the first few notes which define the scope of the shared notebook. -

Until this gets changed you can always insert emoji into to the name. for example notebook1, notebook2 It works for tags too. -

[Feature Request]Append to an Existing Note
DTLow replied to The-Droidster's question in Web Clipper Requests
You can read up on it at https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313558 I think there's also a Windows version -
I've seen messages like this from various people on the forums. My experience is that whenever I've opened a ticket, I have always got an email back with a ticket #. This was followed by a response from a live person. Sometimes the response was "known bug, we're following up on it"; but I've never been ignored.

iOS Classic Note Link Option Please
DTLow replied to Iain669's question in Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 8.24.6 and under)
Yes, I realize that; if you paste outside the Evernote application you get the web link. I just live with that in the IOS environment for now I did up vote this request - its at 9 now -
Editing encrypted text
DTLow replied to csbc's topic in Evernote for iOS Issues (Versions 8.24.6 and under)
Further to the OT I encourage anyone wanting support to open a support ticket; link is below in my signature. We see Evernote employees occasionally in the forums, but its not guaranteed. -
REQUEST: Easy scroll to bottom of note
DTLow replied to Ed Catmull's question in Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 8.24.6 and under)
Is this still an IOS request? Most of us aren't using external keyboards and can't make use of shortcuts. I would be concerned with the UI getting cluttered for something with a small use requirement. I understand the log files, but generally Evernote works better with a series of short notes. Do you think there are enough users to justify this? -
Welcome to the discussion. So far, we haven't heard any response from Evernote on the Archiving issue. An archive notebook is an idea, but people might not want to move their notes out of the current organization setup. I'm not a notebook fan, but I have sync'd, local, and shared notebooks. If you're looking for a work around, ideas have be discussed in this thread. Personally, I use an !Archive flag, and exclude that in my saved searches. edited: An archive stack is another idea for hiding obsolete notebooks

iOS Classic Note Link Option Please
DTLow replied to Iain669's question in Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 8.24.6 and under)
Re; Getting Classic Link in IOS A little too complicated for a simple function. There are other work-arounds, but I usually just copy the private link. -
iOS Classic Note Link Option Please
DTLow replied to Iain669's question in Evernote for iOS Requests (Versions 8.24.6 and under)
That's my problem too - I'm doing this quite often. However, the request has only been up-voted 9 times (top of this list) -
That's a nice feature. A flaw with my Evernote archive process is that the notes are always there. You have to specifically exclude them from searches. Thanks for sharing.
