Evernote vs Nimbus Note - is it worth to switch to?
gazumped replied to Barabasz's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi folks - not defending here (I'm still using Legacy...) but you might be interested in Steve Dotto's take on all this... including where to switch if you're leaving. (NB the video will only be up for a few days after I post this...) -
Hi. You're not being forced. It's entirely the user's choice whether or not to upgrade existing software - it's an choice in 'options' or 'preferences' whether to update automatically or not. Evernote has also provided the Legacy version for desktops so you can step back if you wish. Deselecting a device has to do with the restrictions applied to free use of the software.

Sync Evernote with Outlook locally
gazumped replied to CaitK's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hi. If work locks down your network access, Evernote can't provide a way around it... -
Hi. You can't. I'm also on 5.33, apparently because I have a lot of notes. When Evernote can handle my account I'll be updated/ upgraded automatically.
-
Hi. No. Slack-style chat or email is probably the only way to get that degree of connection. You could certainly change (or @tony could change) the content of a note, but there's no way to notify both parties in a timely way so that you could have a live conversation. Best you could get would be a daily (or hourly) search for "updated notes".

Cannot Join Team on Evernote Bussiness
gazumped replied to Dragtalf's topic in Evernote Teams Technical Issues
Hi. Your Business account admin is the person to talk to - I don't understand how you have an account linked to your university email and an account linked to your personal email... or why that should prevent you from also joining the lab's Business account. A separate personal premium account for each user is part of the Business package, and you should be able to create your personal account even if you also have a separate Basic package. It should be possible to change the email address connected with an existing account, so that might be an option. The lab account Admin will have priority access to Evernote support so should be able to help you sort this out. -
Remove spell check
gazumped replied to xuv224's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
Hi. What version are you on? One of the latest releases included the ability to switch spellcheck off. Plus - you can always use Legacy on desktops... -
Duly noted - sorry you're getting the run-around from support. Best I can offer is: Legacy works fine on or off the grid. I'd suggest you (and anyone else with the same issue) keep on at support too - report the issue each time it happens. There are a lot of good people there - and if it's clearly an issue for lots of users, they're going to have to fix it eventually...

gazumped replied to Jennyhearne's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 8.13.3 and under)
Hi - The usual fix for mobile issues is to reinstall the app, but that might result in your having an unexpected upgrade to v10 if you have a recent version of Android OS. If you're willing to take the risk, you could try that... -
PLS HELP US (The account has been disabled)
gazumped replied to Onur ERÖZ's topic in Evernote Integrations
Hi. Not sure what you did, but does no-one in the company have a subscriber account? You could raise a priority support ticket on https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new If all you have is the Basic account I suggest you contact https://twitter.com/evernotehelps with as much detail as you can... We're a (mainly) user-supported Forum so we have no access to more information about your account. -
Some notes not displaying
gazumped replied to April Langsdale Law's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Hi - you show as a Business customer here - if that's correct, I'd suggest you raise a support ticket with Evernote and (if that's not you) refer to whoever administers your account internally. Get someone else to check whether they can see the files. You'll have separate personal and business access to notes, and - maybe - the other notes aren't available by the access you chose here... -
Hi. I don't think free users can save templates into their app either. You could email your custom template note out, but each user would have to save it in a notebook and duplicate the note to use it. You could export the template as an ENEX file and send that out, with the instruction that users should save it to their desktop and click on it to open - which will generate a new note in their Basic app in the same format. (This is all mainly desktop related - I think Basic users would have some problems using templates on mobile devices...) There's more here that may help... Use templates

Evernote 8.13.3 won't open

Funny that a number of posts here and elsewhere are saying that it does then... If you have something specific that we can help you with, please let us know. Until then speculation and guesstimation on either side is just going to generate pages and pages of pointless discussion without a conclusion. Either continue to use Evernote or don't; they'll get better or they won't. Only time will tell. Until then, there's work-arounds (and the Legacy app).

Evernote 8.13.3 won't open
gazumped replied to Terri Z's topic in Evernote for Android Issues (Versions 8.13.3 and under)
Hmmn. My 8.13.3 is working fine (Galaxy Note / Android 6). Standard advice for a mobile device glitch is uninstall / reinstall, but it's possible that you might wind up with v10 that way - although I understood that v10 was only for the latest Android version so far... you could check in the play store and see what you get offered. 8.13 APK's do exist, and if you want to take the risk of a non-play-store download it should be possible to step back even if you do incur the wrath of v10 - I'd suggest you do go ahead and uninstall / restart / reinstall... the latest version of v10 isn't totally horrible (I'm told), but if you do hate it there are ways to step back...
