Evernote not printing after latest update

Is anyone else having the issue of Evernote not printing after the latest update? I am on version:

10.53.2-win-ddl-public (3935)
Editor: v165.2.20482
Service: v1.65.0

And it just keeps spooling and spooling, then I get a message pop-up to relaunch Evernote.

I've also tried printing to a PDF and that is not working either.

Image below for error that I am getting.

Any help or insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm on the same version, and I'm not seeing this. Something may have gone wrong with the update. If you haven't yet, try just rebooting the computer. If that doesn't fix it, try uninstalling Evernote and reinstalling. That will require a little time to rebuild your notes database.

I've rebooted my computer and I've also tried downgrading to a previous version, but that does not seem to be helping either. I'm wondering if it's an issue with my version of windows? I've recently updated to the latest version of Windows.

Ah, no. I didn't realise that was an option. I've always just printed directly to my printer. It's a bit annoying though, since that's going to be a 2-step process just to print a copy of the note. But yes, export to PDF seems to work fine. Thank you for the tip. I'll do that for now.

Turns out it's note specific, and it was because of the embedded YouTube link in the note that was showing up as a preview based on my default note settings. I deleted the YouTube link and that specific note which refused to print could print with no problem. And after I changed my default YouTube link format to just text, it's fine. The print function does not like the YouTube link as a preview thumbnail.

Thank you for everyone who tried to help.

Mac Evernote doesn't print.

Goes through the motions every time.

Any note. Just text.

Mac OS 10.14.6 (Mojave)

No other printing issues with other apps.

Just found that my latest notes (entered by hand since the last update) can only be printed from the "More actions" drop-down menu within the app. The normal Mac print shortcut Command/P doesn't work, and on the File menu the Print command is greyed out.

This appears to be a bug. My older notes print fine using all methods.

Why do you post in a subforum clearly designated as „Windows Issues“ ?

Windows printing is very different to printing on a Mac. When did you last install a printer driver on your Mac ? Most likely never ….

This said I can’t replicate the problem. The print dialogue works fine, no matter if the note is older or just created.

I assume you have installed through the AppStore ? AppStore installs are often showing problems with interactions, like sharing or printing. The reason is that they run in their own sandbox.

If you want to continue with the AppStore version (there are reasons for that), I would log out, quit the app and restart the Mac. Then open and log in again. If it’s now working, fine. If not think about installing the direct install from the EN website. You need to completely uninstall the AppStore install before. Not sure if it works through the app AppCleaner, which would be my first choice for the full uninstall. If not, you need to remove the EN database manually.

The database created by the direct install is located in a different directory.

My apologies! I didn't notice that the parent folder was labelled "Windows issues". But thanks for your reply.

In doing my first install of the current version (several updates ago) I was upgrading from the Legacy version and just followed the prompts. I don't remember whether that used the App store or the EN website. But I'll try your solution. If it comes to a full uninstall I'll probably use CleanMyMac, which claims to remove all related files; unless otherwise advised…

Thanks again for these suggested solutions. I'll let you know what happens.
