dbvirago 537 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 According to the update yesterday, you have the option of turning off the home page image. I assumed that was only for Android, but if I turn it off, its also off on Desktop. I would like to turn it off on mobile to save real estate, but don't mind it on desktop. Did I misunderstand, or am I missing something?
dbvirago 537 Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 And, coincidentally or not, my Pinned Notes filter disappeared.
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,075 Posted November 16, 2021 Evernote Expert Posted November 16, 2021 I think it is on or off everywhere. Personally, I don't find it saves much space on the desktop and but more of a saving on mobile although not a great deal. 1
dbvirago 537 Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 Also, I thought they had fixed the issue where, when scrolling, you had to be careful not to touch a scratch pad. 60% of my widgets are scratchpads, so scrolling is more painful than it needs to be.

Did I misunderstand, or am I missing something? I fist got the "hide home page image" update on Windows machine. I immediately turned off the image. Then I got the same update on my android phone. I had to manually turn off image in the settings. So for me it was not automatic. I was thinking it was platform related. 22 hours ago, agsteele said: Personally, I don't find it saves much space on the desktop and but more of a saving on mobile although not a great deal. Funny thing is that even if I hide the home image in Windows, you can still scroll up to see... empty space. Why they didn't remove this if there is no picture to see? On Android it is a small space saving without the picture. Why is the note taking app taking precious mobile screen space with greeting message and date? Just show me my notes. Evernote support has some tough time to understand the user feedback. The whole point of feedback "Remove unnecessary photo background from home screen/restore lost space" was to save space. But they just removed the image and kept the rest. 😑 1
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,014 Posted November 17, 2021 Level 5 Posted November 17, 2021 LOL - they said they give an option to remove the picture, and this is exactly (!) what they did. Probably it was easier to introduce a 50% grey „image“ than to redesign the whole page if the image is deselected. 1
matej1990 199 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 You skipped reading this part of the request sentence: "/restore lost space". I think it would not be to difficult to add greetings and date as and option to the home customization. They can make a widget.
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,014 Posted November 17, 2021 Level 5 Posted November 17, 2021 I read it, not hard to find. It seems now the Glas is half full, or halb empty, however you want to see it.
